How do you know if you need more  sales capacity or sales productivity? 

Simple: Check your salespeople’s calendars.

At-a-glance do you see:

Completely Stacked calendars with customer meetings?

or

White space with internal blocks and internal meetings?

If you see stacked calendars with external meetings and your reps are cherry picking deals, you likely need to hire or expand capacity. 

If you see loads of white space and internal blocks, you need to focus not on expanding capacity, but on sales productivity and pipeline generation to fill your current capacity first. 

Sometimes it’s easier to get out of the spreadsheet and look around to find the answers :)
