As Board President, I spearheaded a campaign to save our community pool, turning a projected $70K budget shortfall into a surplus within 12 months.

We doubled membership in 3 years through an integrated marketing campaign including social media, email marketing, and a new website.

Our team determined proper construction methods to resolve pool leakage issues, negotiated with sewage/water authorities, and lowered property assessment for 21 acre facility by 55%.

I was also part of the team who secured a $72,500 grant for the Brook Park Swim Club from the Commonwealth Financing Agency (CFA)/Gaming Economic Development Tourism Fund (GEDTF).

We are currently working towards upgrading our facility in ways that best serve our community.

A little about me: I'm a 5x career changer who has skill-stacked my way from engineering into career consulting.

I started my career with Procter & Gamble as an Engineer/Production Manager, learning not only about consumer products, but also gaining key insights into leadership and career development. 

In my early 20s, I helped P&G move its manufacturing operations from Greenville, NC to Belleville, Ontario. I lived in Canada for 3 years and managed multi-million dollar projects and operations, managing a team of 30 in my Production Manager role. After earning my MBA, I worked in strategic marketing for FedEx, setting prices and forecasting profits for Fortune 500 customers and establishing price points for a new transportation product offering.

After my time in Corporate America, I pivoted and launched my own writing/consulting business. I served as a Contributor/Analyst for The Motley Fool for 4 years and have been cited as an industry expert by major news organizations and job search sites including CBS News, Yahoo Finance, MSN, LinkedIn News, and FlexJobs.

I'm not a good public speaker.

At least that's the story I told myself for 25 years.

25 years is a long time to hold a story.

But that's what I did.

I did a good bit of speaking before *the incident*

I was on the debate team in high school.

I taught a computer class in college.

I led meetings and gave presentations.

I definitely had jitters before I spoke.

But they never kept me from presenting.

Cue my first presentation as a professional.

I was 21 years old and right out of school.

I was in a 3-month training program and we were giving presentations to our leadership team.

Let's just say that mine didn't go well.

I didn't get fired, but I had a long conversation with my manager about my performance.

So, I told myself that I just wasn't a great speaker.

I did everything I could to keep from presenting.

I mean EVERYTHING.

A few years back, it was clear that this limiting belief was costing me.

So, I finally pushed myself.

I've been a guest on several podcasts.

I've presented to numerous companies and universities.

And I love it.

Take a few minutes today to think through any limiting beliefs that you may have:

"I'm such a poor writer."
"I'm so bad with numbers."
"I can't learn new technologies."

And then challenge those beliefs.

Because they aren't true.
