3 tools I couldn't go without and use every day as a SaaS BDR: 

1. Text Blaze; it allows you to paste template messages on LinkedIn, Salesforce.. basically anywhere within Chrome. Saves me so much time (and no it's not the same as copy and pasting from a Google Doc etc). Super cheap too, but the free version is amazing. 

2. BuiltWith; a Chrome Extension that allows you to see what tech that company are using. Good if you're trying to understand what CRM they use (we have strong integrations with HubSpot/Salesforce etc so makes the outreach a bit.. 'warmer')

3. MailTester Ninja; gets me emails our main prospecting tool can't find. Free version is amazing, haven't tried the paid but it looks great and I probably should get it now I think about it...

When you realise your new job doesn't have a high-quality coffee machine like your last one and instead they just buy Nescafe Original in bulk

A lot of people are apprehensive about using permission based openers when cold calling.

It's uncomfortable for them to go against years of training of going for "yes".

And I get it, I was the same. Until I finally tried them out and found I had far better conversations vs the methods I'd been using for years prior.

Sales Managers - when coaching your team, are you able to understand how much they talk vs their prospects?

I've found aircall's talk-to-listen ratio feature so helpful over the past 8 weeks; seconds after finishing a call, I can check if I was over-selling or over-elaborating by heading over to the call recording section. 

And because everyone loves AI at the moment, I'll also mention our AI-generated call summaries and transcripts, to make those call recording coaching sessions far more productive.

Some salespeople or sales coaches will tell you that permission based openers don't work. 

"It lowers status".. apparently. (Source: trust me bro)

It's just not true, especially when you nail the delivery. I find a light-hearted, half-laughing tone works best.. for me, anyway. 

Some will also tell you that PBOs are dead because everyone uses them.. 

I spoke to a CEO recently who gets cold called all the time and he didn't seem to think so...

Are you utilising AI to help coach your Sales team?

One of my favourite things about Aircall is the AI-generated summary page that sits right next to the call recording and transcript (I've cut it out of the picture here but to the right is a full transcript of the conversation + the call recording playback option - you can even skip to specific moments of the chat by clicking a line in the transcript to save you time).

Just a few seconds after you've completed a call, aircall can log the call recording link with the notes of the relevant contact onto your CRM. 

When you click it, you get the call recording + some useful information like: 

- A call summary if you just want to know what was discussed & agreed upon at a glance
- Talk-to-listen ratio (you can see I definitely talked too much on this call)
- Key topics that were discussed 
- The tone/mood of the person you were speaking to

Makes coaching sessions with your Sales team far easier, and allows your Sales team to quickly and easily review their own calls for self-improvement without having to go through the hassle of requesting the recording from a manager etc (been there and it's a PAIN).
