My entire last year in UiPath ('22-'23) was spent as the Lead Product Designer for Clipboard AI, named one of the Best Inventions of 2023 by TIME magazine. I shaped and patented design for a tool that enables semantic data transfers between systems, obv with the help of AI. I joined UiPath in 2019 as a UX Manager on the Marketing team, working on making uipath.com a place where we communicate effectively our company vision and facilitate achieving our business goals. 

Two months after joining I was offered a role as the Lead Product Designer on the Orchestrator Product team, one of UiPath's main products. 

I shaped and led the redesign of Orchestrator, a major overhaul which addressed multiple usability issues and growing complexity requirements.

Mento is a design school that I co-founded in 2020. From concept to launch & commercial success, I was the brain behind all things Growth, all while mentoring aspiring designers through their transition to UX Design.

The dream here was to build an ethical, differentiated design bootcamp through which we make a significant positive impact in the educational landscape for aspiring UX designers. 

After almost 3 years into this journey I realised I love design much more than I love entrepreneurship and running + marketing a business meant I didn't have the much-needed room to design. 

Decided to exit to focus on my career as a Product Leader. ✨

UX & Product Design Consultant

As a User Experience Architect I’m responsible for creating flows and architecture for ING’s HomeBank platform. This calls for a broad and complex approach, with tasks and challenges such as: 

•	Establishing and promoting design guidelines, best practices and standards, by contributing to our design system

•	Partnering with product managers and developers to translate information architecture, navigation and process flows into beautiful and easy-to-use solutions

•	Designing and delivering wireframes, mockups and user journeys optimized for ING's banking platform

•	Identifing design problems and devising elegant solutions

•.      Deciding on research needs and approach - making sure we invest time and attention in the research phase before creating the architecture and visual design of the solution - desk research, conducting interviews, creating prototypes, testing & iterating and so on.

•	Making strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core and new functions and features

•	Tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Marvel App, Sketch

UX Architect

Working on ING Bazar meant focusing on improving its performance and design. I was in charge of visual curation, photo editing, and I continuously proposed UX/UI improvements. 

Managing this digital product gave me a holistic perspective on its design. Always connected to user feedback, I constantly suggested improvements and ideas, while also managing all the content visibile in Bazar's interface. 

Being in the Bazar team since its incubation helped me gain a broad understanding of the processes and work required to create a digital product from scratch.

📣 Miro has just made public a large part of my design work from the past couple of months and I couldn't be more excited to watch how these AI features perform in the wild! ✨👀🌲

As you might know by now, I have a fairly impartial take on what AI can and should do, erring on the side of reluctancy most times, but these AI capabilities really excite me 👇

✨ a dedicated surface for AI creation: prime time real estate for generating stickies, docs, diagrams and images in a consolidated toolbar entry point! 

🤲 Helps with: drafting work, overcoming the cold start problem, accelerating workflows, supporting you with tasks you're less excited to do (creating diagrams or writing PRDs? 😅)

 ✨ AI Shortcuts - quick actions that sit on the canvas in the relevant & meaningful places to help you move quicker from one stage of your workflow to the next

 🤲 Help with: transforming information into relevant structures, accelerating workflows, leveraging AI as a team

✨ AI Sidekicks - entities that you can summon on the canvas to provide an extra pair of eyes and quick expert knowledge on specific topics (Agile, Product)

 🤲 Help with: brainstorming with AI, getting feedback and new perspectives

 ✨ AI for Writing & in Docs (OMG, yes, we have Docs now! 🎉) - AI can assist you with writing tasks which comes in handy when you're editing and refining content on the canvas

🤲 Helps with: improving text, better communication, quick transformations (like translation)

📆 All this AI magic is being rolled out in the upcoming period and will be in Beta, but I want to invite everyone to explore and experiment as they began to have these available 🖥️✨

🙋‍♀️ This might sound like a tough pill to swallow at first, but the future of UI Design is AI Automation. I just discovered a tool called Motiff which uses AI to: 

🟣 Generate a design system from an existing file 
🟣 Discover new styles and components from recent files and update the current design system automatically 
🟣 Perform consistency checks, enabling you to cross-check your design files with design system guidelines
🟣 Deduplicate components 
🟣 Add auto-layout (thank God 🙋‍♀️😅)
🟣 much more 

Here's how I frame this role transformation 👉 I personally welcome replacing the long hours of tedious work that go behind building and maintaining a design system and replacing them with more time to: 

🟢 Identify the right problems to solve
🟢 Unpack complex problem spaces
🟢 Orchestrate sophisticated and adaptable E2E processes
🟢 Challenge assumptions and connect the important dots 
🟢 Employ systems + critical thinking to grasp convoluted relationships between elements of the problem space
🟢 Continuously revisit and inform decisions by filtering and interpreting feedback through a holistic lens (as opposed to the narrow one AI uses)
🟢 Collaborate with cross-functional teams
🟢 Champion the best interest of the user across the company
🟢 Build a design vision

(and even)

🟢 Define what the design system should be, its particular needs and goals
🟢 Explore what we can use AI for (and what we shouldn't use it for) 
🟢 Talk to people 🙋‍♀️

To me it's fascinating to witness the evolution of our roles with the emergence of tools like Motiff, but I'm mostly excited instead of worried because the value of a designer was never in producing pixels (well, sure, read this as an oversimplification - pixels can be a reflection of thinking most times). 

👌 Make sure to give this tool a try: it might replace Figma someday, and you'll want to say: I was one of the early adopters! 🙋‍♀️✨ (link in comments)

Motiff Example for UI Automation with AI

✨ A milestone I'm celebrating, even though I am aware that these vanity metrics might not mean much. 

In reality, after 6 years of creating content, I can confidently say that numbers on their own mean nothing, but growing a network (or a "following") also means: 

👉 meeting a lot of amazing, incredible people that inspire me 
👉 being presented with interesting career opportunities (jobs, education, content, talks, etc)  
👉 learning by reflecting (then posting 🙋‍♀️)
👉 broader access to other people's content, lessons, stories, insights 
👉 making friends in your industry and kickstarting projects together (a great example is Anfisa Bogomolova and our podcast Honest UX talks)
👉 an ongoing process of finding my voice
👉 articulating my most important lessons 
👉 discovering and defining who I am along the way

So it's much more than vanity metrics. It's an important pillar of my professional growth.

As a designer, knowing how hard it can be to get things right from an experience perspective, often operating in convoluted systems, with dependencies, tight deadlines, excessively-opinionated stakeholders, limited resources and so on, 

I am impressed when I discover and use a great product. 🙋‍♀️✨👌
