I used to be embarrassed to admit this… 🫠


Not just my career failures, but even my failures on LinkedIn.

When I started building my brand here, 
I felt like every post had to be “perfect.”

Every word polished. 
Every line sounding smart.

And guess what
Those posts flopped. 
Zero engagement.

I’d overthink so much that if something didn’t perform, I’d delete it instantly.

Not by just posting 
But from dropping the right kind of comments in the right places.


Thing is
 Commenting doesn't mean writing “great post” or “thanks for sharing.” 
That does nothing.


It’s about adding 
Perspective,
Sparking conversations, 
And positioning yourself as the go-to voice in your space.


What worked for me (and my clients) when it comes to comments 👇


 1. Add value, not nonsense
Share your perspective or quick tip that others might not have thought about.


2. Engage early
Be one of the first meaningful comments; visibility skyrockets. (I turn the bell icon on) 🔔


3. Think long-term
Comments compound. They build reputation, authority, and open doors with people beyond your 1st-degree connections.


4. Treat comments as micro-content
Sometimes your best content ideas come from what you drop under someone else’s post.


5. Don’t chase, !!Attract!! 
When your comments stand out, inbound requests flow naturally.


The reality is, LinkedIn growth is not equal to only what you post. It’s about how you show up in conversations.

I had NO CHOICE but to figure this LinkedIn game ALONE… 😭


Building & Growing my marketing business completely through LinkedIn 💥


When I first started taking LinkedIn seriously, I had no “agency team”, no ad budget, no VA to help me, and honestly, no clear roadmap.

All I DID have was the platform in front of me… and the willingness to experiment. 🤝

My first post barely got seen, but it became the starting point of what is today a business built 90% from LinkedIn. 😎


And sure, outsourcing content or hiring a team early might have made things smoother…
But looking back, I’m so glad I didn’t. 🙌


Because doing it all myself forced me to learn EVERY single aspect of LinkedIn growth → content, engagement, lead gen, outreach, conversions.


Now I know the platform inside-out because I had no option but to test, fail, and figure it out myself. 💁‍♀️


I couldn’t afford to “wait for inbound magic” in those early days, so I had to build my own system for leads 


BUT the biggest shift happened when I started understanding where I WASN’T strong and what I could optimise to support myself.

That’s where systems came in. 🤝


Having a simple structure for tracking leads, following up, and keeping my pipeline warm has been a complete game-changer. 🙌

Here are a few things I’ve learnt along the way that completely changed how I generate leads here.


⚡Follow up speedyyy 
Within 24–48 hours max. 
Quick follow-ups keep energy alive and close more clients.


⚡ Segment your network 
 Everyone in your network plays a different role: 
Buyers, Collaborators, Supporters. 
Treat them accordingly.


⚡ Move conversations beyond the feed 
Likes and comments are great, but DMs, calls, and real convos build business.


⚡Add value first 
The people who consistently give
Insights + Connections + Shoutouts, are the ones who win long-term.


And I’ve seen this work firsthand.

One of my clients went from barely getting 15 likes a post to consistently hitting 100+ likes, 10x more impressions, and landing 3-4 inbound clients every single week 


If you’re only seeing engagement but not revenue,

If they don’t feel seen, they’ll scroll.
If they do? They’ll message.


2. Posts that give the prospect a mirror, then a map.

Give them a new lens:
→ “Here’s why your profile is killing leads.”
→ “Here’s how your CTAs are confusing, not converting.”
→ “Here’s what changes when your brand sells.”



3. Posts that open doors, not loops.
A CTA is not a “PS” afterthought.

It’s a clear next step:
→ Comment “Profile” for the checklist.
→ DM me “Audit” if you want feedback.
→ Here’s the exact sentence I use to book calls.

If you don’t tell them where to go next,
They won’t.


SIMPLY!

Most people on LinkedIn are posting as if it were 2016.

They tell me - I have 40k followers, more than you

How will you even help me?


But when we deep dive

They receive only one lead per month, yet they still experience dopamine from their engagement and cry at night due to the lack of leads & sales.🤦🏼‍♀️


But if you’re here to sell with clarity, not cringe

Being super independent doesn’t make it easier either.

But what I’ve learned

✨ Independence + LinkedIn is powerful.
You don’t need a massive team or a giant budget to make a big impact on LinkedIn.


✨ Stability comes when you build systems
Not when you overwork yourself.


✨ And LinkedIn gives you the rare gift of choice
To be with family, to travel, to create on your terms.


So while freedom feels like a double-edged sword, I wouldn’t trade it.

Because at the end of the day, 

This “curse” is exactly what pushed me to turn LinkedIn into my career and help others do the same.

 Make it personal. 
That’s what gets you in.


 2. No instant pitching. Ever.
 Imagine meeting someone at a café, shaking hands, and then handing them your brochure.
 That’s how 90% of LinkedIn DMs feel.
 Warm up → talk → then pitch.

 That’s how my clients consistently turn cold messages into warm calls every single week.


 3. Engagement builds context.
 Before DMing someone, show up in their world.
 Comment on their posts, add insights, drop thoughtful takes.
 By the time you message, they already know your name.


4. Conversations > conversions.
 Not every DM has to close a deal.
 Some just build trust.

 And when done right, that trust compounds into inbound leads (and recurring retainers, I’ve seen it happen too many times).


5. Keep your profile aligned.
 If your profile doesn’t match your message, people scroll away.

 Your profile is your silent salesperson.
 Let it do half the work for you.

I say this ALL the time
 Good content gets you attention.
 But good conversations get you clients


So before you send your next message, ask yourself:
 Would you reply to this? 👀

The ONE type of LinkedIn post CEOs should STOP writing immediately!


We’ve all seen them.

Maybe you’ve even written one.🥲

The kind of post that looks like this:
“Excited to announce XYZ”
“Proud to share my latest milestone!”

I'm going to tell you the hard truth:

Nobody cares about announcements that don’t add value to their lives.

If your LinkedIn posts are just about YOU
Your promotions.
Your wins.
Your company’s achievements.


You’re missing the point. (REALLYYY)

Instead, try this:

1️⃣ Share the lessons behind the milestones.
- What did you learn on your journey to that achievement?
- What challenges did you face, and how did you overcome them?


2️⃣ Make it about THEM.
- Ask yourself:
- What does my audience need to hear?
- How can my experience help them solve a problem or inspire action?


3️⃣ Tell a story.
- People don’t remember facts, they remember how you made them feel.
- Use storytelling to create an emotional connection.


To give you an example:
A CEO I worked with shared a story about how they almost gave up on a big deal.
Instead of just saying, “We closed a $1M deal!”


They shared:
- What went wrong during the negotiations.
- How they fixed it.
- The lesson they learned that other founders could apply.


The result were 🤌
Their post had 5x more engagement than their previous “announcement” post.
They received 4 DMs from potential clients who resonated with their story.


So?
Stop treating LinkedIn like a bulletin board for your wins. (SIMPLE)
Start using it to build connections and offer value.

When I told people I wanted to leave my hometown, everyone said 
 “Stay where you are.”
 “It’s too risky.”
 “Girls don’t just move abroad to figure things out.”


When I said I wanted to build a career in marketing, people laughed.
 “Do something stable.”
 “Get a degree.”

But something in me
That one gut ‘YES’ was LOUDER than every ‘no’.

No one even knew how many nights I spent figuring things out alone.

And a voice in my head saying

And that one, yes, turned into…

 ✨ Working with global founders, coaches & creators
 ✨ Helping clients hit 2–3 warm calls a week, coaches go from no brand to getting recognized as their industry leaders consistently, and founders close retainers they once thought were out of reach


But most importantly, it turned into freedom.
 Some months I’m in Dubai.
 Some in Bali.
 Sometimes Oman, Abu Dhabi, or back home in India.

I built a career that moves with me, because I said YES when the world screamed no.

✨ Your first impression doesn’t start with a pitch.
It starts with presence.


When you message someone on LinkedIn, 
They’re subconsciously scanning:

Do you sound human?

Are you relevant?

Do you bring value or just want something?

And all of that… in literally 6 seconds.

This is how to nail that window 👇


//- Lead with context, not curiosity.
Mention something specific about their post, company, or project. 
Show them this isn’t a copy-paste DM. (YESSSS even though it is)


//- Ditch the pitch.
You don’t ask someone to marry you on the first date
You talk, connect, and build trust.

Same rule here. 😎


//- Keep your tone chill, not corporate.
“I’d love to explore ways we could collaborate” sounds like a cold email.

“Hey, saw your post on [topic], really sharp take. 
Curious what made you try that?” builds curiosity.


//- Make your profile do half the talking.

If your message hooks them, your profile should close the deal.

Think of it like a handshake, 
Your DM gets attention, your profile earns the trust.


//- Follow up without being annoying.

A quick “Hey, looping this back up, thought you might’ve missed it!” 

Works way better than “Did you see my last message?”


That’s how my clients

See, when I first started using LinkedIn, I thought
“Post good content → people will notice → leads will come.”


Reality check!! Didn’t happen. 
LOFL 😂


I was posting.
I was showing up.
But visibility wasn’t translating into conversations.


That’s when I realised LinkedIn is actually just not about content.
It’s about making sure the right people see it.


So what I did -
🔥 I practised hooks EVERY DAY until I found which ones made people stop scrolling.

🔥I tested 100s of comment styles on my own profile before touching my clients’.

🔥 I experimented with outreach messages, the ones that don’t feel spammy, but actually start conversations.

🔥 I built posting systems, so every client looked consistent & professional without burning out.



And the shift was HUGE!!


One founder had been on LinkedIn since January, 
Posting with zero traction.



Mind you, when I say this, he spent $3000+ to grow his LinkedIn, but he never got the results that were promised to him.


Then we met.
We started working on his LinkedIn.

When I started building my brand here,
I honestly didn’t realise how powerful this platform would become.



From posting random thoughts to closing 5-figure deals through DMs

It’s been a wild ride. 😅


But if I could go back and do it all again,
Here’s what I’d change 👇



→ I’d write less “for me” and more “for them.”

In the beginning, I wrote what I felt like saying.
Now I know, the magic happens when your posts reflect your audience’s thoughts before they even say them.

That’s when the real trust (and leads) start rolling in.


→ I’d write like I’m talking to someone eye-to-eye.

Forget the fancy language. PLEASE
Forget the “LinkedIn tone.”
Real words.
Real talk.

The kind that makes people go “wait… this is WOW, this is relatable.”



→ I’d take engagement SERIOUSLY, not personally.


Back then, I’d stress if a post didn’t pop. 
Now? I treat engagement as strategy, not validation.

Commenting on others’ posts, building relationships, showing up

That’s how visibility compounds.


→ I’d focus on conversations, not just content, every time.

Every post isn’t meant to go viral
Some are meant to start the right DMs.

The goal isn’t reach, 
it’s revenue with relevance (100%)



→ I’d build my network intentionally.

You don’t need 50,000 followers.
You need 500 people who actually get what you do.


Everyday I remove 50 people from my network who do not either

- Belong to the same industry
- My target audience
- Or, simply NOT adding value


The right audience is what gets you clients on autopilot.

And LinkedIn needs a trigger that WHO BELONGS TO YOUR RIGHT AUDIENCE!


→ I’d stop trying to sound like an expert.

People don’t buy from “gurus.” (not at least in 2025)

They buy from humans who get them.


My best posts are the ones where I spoke like a marketer having tea with a client
chill, clear, and real. ☕


→ And I’d track every small win.

That one comment that turns into a collab.
That one DM that becomes a long-term client.
Those are the real milestones that build your brand.

6–7 years ago, life looked VERY different for me.


I wasn’t in Dubai running LinkedIn strategies for CEOs and coaches.

I was actually fighting with my family just to move out.


I was sitting in exams I didn’t even care about, being told by a professor that with maths I could “only ever be a teacher.”

And I knew deep inside… I was not made for boring routines.

6️⃣ Consistency > perfection.
You don’t need to post every day. 
But showing up regularly + strategically is what creates clients on autopilot.

→ Turn every comment into a mini-consultation with diagnostic questions.
→ Write like you're explaining to a smart friend using their exact language.
→ Study & Adapt emotional triggers behind viral content for your audience.
