After graduating from Middlebury College with a degree in Neuroscience and Religion I had grand plans of going into the sciences but quickly learned that if I wanted to do anything other than put electrodes on people’s heads I had to go back to school. I had debt and I was burnt out from playing ice hockey, working 2 jobs, and pursuing the toughest degree. No way I was going back to school. So I hit the internet and started searching for jobs hopefully in the mindfulness and meditation tech space (think Calm app). I typed in mindfulness tech jobs in Madison and Zendesk popped up. Fate. I put my prospecting efforts to the test before I even knew what prospecting was. I went on LinkedIn and found that the hiring manager was connected with a family friend. That family friend introduced me and the rest is history. That was my first experience with networking. Now I’m hooked. Fun fact: I’ve never tried Ketchup
