🔥 #Ukraine's sanctions hits russian Orenburg gas processing plant.
One of the largest gas chemical complex in the world was struck by Ukrainian drones only about 24 h ago, appears to have spontaneously combusted today.

The plant has an annual capacity of up to 45 billion cubic meters of gas.

Per locals, the flames are rising tens of meters into the air and can be seen from miles. Of course, the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations has simply denied there's a fire 👀

🎯 Reports say the compressor-gas fractionation unit was hit. This is the unit where the gas undergoes compression, cooling, and separation into fractions — propane, butane, and stable condensate.

I bet you that the emanating heat from that works wonders of the structural integrity of the facility as a whole...

🚀 Upgraded russian missiles can now bypass #Ukraine's Patriot air defenses. 
The same Patriots most of the #EU relies on for protection.

📉 Although Ukraine managed to shoot down up to 37% of ballistic targets in the summer, this figure dropped dramatically to 6% in September, the FT reported, citing Ukrainian and Western officials.

This is because russia has modified its Iskander-M (ground-launched) and Kinzhal (air-launched) ballistic missiles to make them more resilient to the #USA Patriot air defense system.

🎯 The missiles initially follow a predictable ballistic trajectory but abruptly change direction in the terminal phase (the final seconds before impact). They perform maneuvers, briefly "dive," or deploy decoys (e.g., radar decoys) to evade interception attempts.

These upgrades make it more difficult for the until-now peerless Patriot system to predict and intercept the exact point of impact because the system's software is based on a calculated trajectory.

🚀 On Tomahawk cruise missiles being supplied to #Ukraine — here’s why it matters:

1️⃣ The Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) is an extremely effective cruise missile. It flies fast and low, guided by an inertial navigation system that can’t be jammed — making it very hard to shoot down.

2️⃣ Its payload is similar to the Franco-British SCALP/Storm Shadow: around 450 kg, enough to cause catastrophic damage — especially when launched in salvos.

3️⃣ What truly sets the Tomahawk apart is range: 1,600–2,500 km, compared to 300–500 km for SCALP/Storm Shadow. That means strategic targets deep inside Russia are now within reach.

4️⃣ Zelensky says Ukraine has already destroyed about 20% of Russia’s petrol supply facilities. A significant number of TLAMs could take out a much larger share of the country’s energy infrastructure.

5️⃣ TLAMs could also strike key military targets — from the Shahed drone factory to major air bases. Even Moscow and St. Petersburg are within range.

6️⃣ Their use would make ordinary Russians feel the consequences of Putin’s war — undermining his narrative that Russia is “winning.”

7️⃣ With rising casualties and equipment losses, Putin’s position is already fragile. TLAMs won’t win the war alone, but they’ll further erode what remains of Moscow's #strategy and ambitions. Russia won’t tolerate failure forever.
