As much as I hate to admit this, I am not serious about my growth on LinkedIn. I don’t refresh my feed every second to check: Impressions Reactions Comments Or shares after I hit post Instead, here’s what I actually focus on when I write: 1/ Honest stories I love sharing the real journey- wins, struggles, learnings, and setbacks. Because that’s what people truly connect with. 2/ Client wins & real case studies Instead of vague advice, I intend to share actual strategies that worked for me or my clients- what we tried, what failed, what clicked. 3/ Creating value If one post helps even 5 people move forward, that’s a win in my book. Because for me, LinkedIn is more than a growth platform. It’s a place to build trust, give before asking, and create long-term impact. The likes and impressions are a byproduct of it. So no, I’m not obsessed with growth. But I am deeply committed to showing up with intention and integrity. And if you're someone who's overthinking about posting- Start small. Share something real. You’ll be surprised how people resonate with it.
I started my content writing business with 0 skills. In 2020, when I got my first blog writing gig, I had: No writing experience No formal training No mentor I was a final-year student, stuck at home, unsure about what came next. With exams constantly getting postponed, no certainty about placements, and unsure what my next step would be. But one thought kept nudging me: “Instead of sitting idle, why not try earning some pocket money?” That one decision changed my life. What began as a one-off gig turned into a full-fledged content business. Today, I’ve written for global clients, built long-term relationships, and turned writing into a profession I absolutely love. So when someone says: “You need experience, resources, and a fancy degree to start…” Don’t believe them. Here’s what actually helped me: Curiosity to learn while doing Consistency even when situations turned grey The courage to start messy You don’t need to be fully ready. You just need to start. And sometimes? Uncertain times bring the clearest direction.
This post had less than 100 words but crossed 150k+ impressions. I wrote it for one of my clients, and it was pure value. – No beating around the bush. – No unnecessary fillers. – Just the knowledge people actually needed. The key to getting LinkedIn traction is simple: Understand what can lure your audience. Here’s how you can do it: 1) Dig into their strongest desires: In our case, we knew they were desperately looking for interview prep resources. So we gave it to them on a silver plate. 2) Address their emotions: Your audience is either: – Trying to solve a burning problem – Working to establish themselves – Seeking mentorship or direction When your content becomes their solution, you win their attention. 3) Keep sharing free resources: Most of the content we post offers free, practical resources. This builds trust — fast. Because people don’t just “follow” anymore. They follow who helps them. Pro tip: People love free stuff. And we’re riding that wave. Incorporate these, and you’ll not only create high-traction posts - you’ll also start generating leads. Save this post so you don’t lose this FREE playbook. Share it with someone who needs to see this.
My goal is to hit $50k/month in the next 365 days. That’s a common milestone many agency owners are chasing, especially in the social media space. It sounds great on paper. But behind the scenes, it’s often brutal for both the service provider and the client. Because to hit $50K–$100K/month consistently, you typically need a team of 30–40 people. And from what I’ve observed (and experienced) - most agencies hire at "industry standard" salaries. Which, to be honest, often just means cheap labor. The result- – Missed deadlines – Subpar deliverables – Broken promises on results – Endless internal follow-ups – Never-ending client feedback loops – Sudden team member exits – Clients leaving because their expectations aren't met (I’ve seen all of this happen up close.) In the rush to chase revenue, they sacrifice their sanity and ironically, end up with very little profit. Because the truth is: High revenue ≠ high profit. That’s why, from day one, we decided we wouldn’t get caught in this “trend”. We chose to: – Deliver exclusive, high-impact work – Build genuine client relationships – Focus on retention over constant replacement And guess what? We’re operating at over 90% profit - without burning ourselves out in the process. Slow, intentional growth >>> chaotic scaling any day.
I often hear how people remember their good old school days. But I absolutely HATE to even recall my time as a school student. There is a thing about private schools in my hometown (not sure how many of you can relate) — These schools had a bunch of students who, according to teachers, perfectly fit the definition of "ideal students." These fellows usually— – Always topped their exams – Were extremely obedient – Acted like unwanted advocates of teachers And they were the only ones who were made to represent the school, be it for exams, cultural competitions, or any event. We already knew the winners before anything even started. (Open partiality.) I probably wouldn’t have cared much, had it not been for what it left behind: – The imposter syndrome it triggered in many of us – The lingering feeling of not being "good enough" – The early seeds of self-doubt: Will I ever become anything in life? Now, as a grown-up, I realize how important it is - to make every student feel seen, to make every student feel capable, and to avoid boxing young minds into rigid labels of "bright" and "average" so early in life. A school’s role should go beyond celebrating a select few. It should be about identifying each student's unique strengths and creating an environment that encourages them to nurture those strengths. Not every child will top an exam. Not every child will be the loudest voice in the room. But every child carries a potential that, if recognized early, can be life-changing. When schools fail to do this, they don't just miss out on incredible talent — they unknowingly cause lasting harm to a student's mental health and self-esteem. We often talk about shaping "future leaders." But maybe the real win would be shaping confident, self-assured individuals - who don’t spend their adulthood healing from their school experiences. I'd love to know your take in the comments.
My client asked me to Stop posting from her profile. This was in the middle of the day I saw a WhatsApp notification. A message from one of our oldest clients, I opened her chat immediately that said- “Rishasri, can we please pause posting content for a while?” A message like this usually means- The client is unsatisfied with the service. They are not getting the desired result. They want to stop working with you. And it gives you a similar feeling when your partner says- “we need to talk..” I replied- “Hey, what happened? Are you not liking my work?” My heartbeat is getting faster.. I see her typing… The wait was killing me. Then the WhatsApp notification pops again. “I don’t have the bandwidth to take more clients” I am booked for at least the next 3 months. We need to stop posting content that attracts leads..” Like seriously, how often do you hear that? We have helped this client make over $50k since the time they joined us. All organic. No ads. No engagement pods. Just AMAZING content which was enough to bring in consistent leads. If you too are a career coach or a software engineer looking to build authority and get more clients, drop me a “hi”.
