[1] You can't just "import SF salaries" into AU

Salaries are set by free market forces

SF doesn't just willingly choose to pay more on hopes that teams will work harder

It's simply the price of talent

If you think SF works harder just because of salaries → can you tell me why China works so hard despite getting paid peanuts?

[2] You call out "toll-poppy syndrome" and yet continue to propagate it

Let me play out your recommendations:

Employees: I’m not paid enough to work hard

Founders: I shouldn’t build anything → because my team won’t work hard → because I’m not supposed to expect hard work AU salaries (which I don’t control)

A start-up takes the same effort to succeed ANYWHERE

Yet here you are telling AU start-ups to just take it easy?

[3] Frankly, I don't think you've ever been close to greatness to know what it looks and feels like

You've hidden in big companies your whole career

Shouldn't you try start something before suggesting how AU startup ecosystem can improve?
