Why I never sell in the connection request

If your connection requests look something like this:  
 
"Hey {{First_name}}, I do A for B, I can help you get X for Y in Z amount of time.  
 
Interested in 30 mins talk?" 
 
Then you're not going to sell anything.  
 
Here's why.  
 
🌟 Everybody else does it this way 🌟 
 
People don't want to be sold to.  
 
They probably want (and need) your service.  
 
But they want to check it out themselves first.  
 
Think about it.  
 
The first step to talking to someone is to get them to listen 🎧 
 
AKA:  
That connection request must get accepted.  
 
Some tips to get more accepted request:  
- Give them a personal compliment 
- Establish common ground 
- Leave it blank (WHAT?) 
 
Yes, sometimes leaving it blank can help 👀 
 
Let your profile do the talking.  
 
The first thing people do when they receive a connection request is to check who sent it.  
 
So make sure to optimize your profile.  
 
I just got an inbound lead at 9pm the other day by connecting with a founder and comlimenting their business.  
 
That's all I did. No selling ❌ 
 
Turns out they needed help with promoting themselves and their business.  
 
They saw that I could potentially help them.
