This 1 positioning MISTAKE keeps founders invisible on LinkedIn.

It looks productive but it does the opposite.

Let’s start here:

Posting more is not the problem, but posting unclearly is.

When your message is fuzzy, every extra post just adds another layer of noise.

Think of it like walking into the same room and introducing yourself differently every time.

One day it’s:

I help founders with growth.

Next day:

I talk about mindset.

Then:

Here’s a story from my life.

Each one is fine on its own.

Together? People don’t know where to place you.

And when people can’t place you, they don’t remember you.

Here’s a quick test I use:

If someone reads your last 10 posts, could they explain what you’re known for in one sentence?

If not, the issue is coherence.

Strong positioning feels repetitive on purpose.

- Same belief.
- Same lens.
- Same core problem just explained through different moments and situations.

That’s how familiarity forms.

How to fix it:

Before you hit publish, ask yourself:

1. What one problem am I addressing today?
2. What belief do I want my name to be associated with?
3. Does this strengthen what I’m already known for  or pull me sideways?

If it pulls you sideways, here’s a tip:

Skip it.

Staying in one lane is the best way to help build the recognition you need.

Here's what works:

Don't position yourself as the expert with all the answers.

Position yourself as the guide who's been where they are.

Someone who shows the way through stories, not lectures.

A human, not a headline.

(you're probably playing it too safe)

I had a conversation with a founder the other day that stopped me in my tracks.

She said: 
"I'm scared to post what I actually think. What if people judge me?"

I asked her: 
"What did you tell yourself you'd be when you started this business?"

Silence.

Then: 
"Someone who leads. Someone who says what needs to be said. Someone people respect."

"So why aren't you being her?"

More silence.

Every founder I know who's built something has felt this exact fear.

The fear of saying what you actually believe.

The fear of being visible.

The fear of becoming the person you said you'd be.

But the ones who break through do it scared.

They post the thing that makes them nervous.

They take the stance that feels risky.

They become who they said they'd be - even when it's terrifying.

I didn’t grow my business using LinkedIn by cracking some clever system.

I just wrote what I was thinking and here’s why it worked.

At the beginning, I used to share long posts and messy stories.

They weren’t perfect, but they were real.

And people noticed because it felt human.

That’s when it clicked for me.

People weren’t following just for the content.

They were interested because what I shared sounded like something they’d been thinking about themselves.

From there, I started being a bit more intentional.

I didn’t stop sharing stories.

I just got clearer about why I was sharing them.

I shaped them around the problems I actually help with.

The conversations I was already having with clients.

The questions people kept asking me privately.

At the same time, I stopped treating LinkedIn like a feed I needed to keep up with and more like a place someone might land for the first time.

- Some posts were there to help people find me.
- Some were there to show how I think.
- Some were there to make the next step feel obvious.

Even my profile changed.

Less here’s my background.

More this is who I help, and this is how.

The result wasn’t just more followers.

It was better conversations.

- People reaching out who already understood what I do.
- People who’d been reading quietly for a while.
- People who didn’t need convincing.

That’s the part people don’t talk about enough.

Growth comes from showing up, being useful, and letting trust build over time.

And once that trust is there, everything else gets easier.

4 months ago, a founder messaged me at 3:47am.

(what he told me will break your heart)

"I can't sleep anymore"

That's how the message started.

He told me he wakes up at 3am every night refreshing LinkedIn & checking his sales dashboard. 

Nothing's changed.

But he can't stop looking.

His wife asks him a question at dinner. 

He nods. Says "yeah"

He has no idea what she just said.

His kids ask him to play. 

"Give me 20 minutes"

An hour later, he's still on his laptop.

He's there but he's not there.

He's working harder than he ever has. 

Posting daily & doing everything "right"

But the leads aren't coming. 

The revenue isn't moving. 

And he's starting to wonder if getting a 9-5 job is his next step.

I asked him one question:

"Do you want to keep doing this for another year?"

Silence.

Then: "God, no"

So we changed everything.

We started with his positioning.

We built a narrative around what he actually does. 

A movement/ a bigger picture.

Not generic advice. 

Not "10 tips" carousels. 

Not content that could apply to anyone.

We made him undeniable.

3 months later he is a completely different founder. 

He messages me: 

"I closed a $30K client yesterday"

He's sleeping through the night.

He's present at dinner.

When his kids ask him to play? He actually plays.

Because here's what most people don't understand:

Visibility without positioning is bloody pointless.

You can post every day. You can hustle. You can grind.

But if you're not positioned as the ONLY choice? 

You're just another bland voice in the feed.

And that's why he was waking up at 3am.

(because no one knew why they should choose him)

If you're waking up stressed, refreshing dashboards, nodding at dinner but not really there -

It's like to be a positioning problem.

And we can fix it.

My clients regularly hit 100K+ impressions per week.

Here's the exact pattern I've watched play out hundreds of times:

PHASE 1: THE FIRST TEST (0-300 views)

Post goes live → Your immediate network sees it

They scroll past = Post dies here 
They skim it = Stuck at 100-300 views 
They read the whole thing = Advances to Phase 2

Your first 20 readers determine everything.

PHASE 2: THE RIPPLE EFFECT (300-5K views)

Now their networks start seeing it

Their connections skim it = Stays contained 
Their connections finish reading = Breaks containment 
They engage = Their networks see it

This is why you see high engagement but low reach.

Your people love it.
Strangers don't finish it.

PHASE 3: THE EXPONENTIAL JUMP (5K-500K+ views)

LinkedIn's watching one metric above everything else:

> Profile views

Standard trajectory: 

Adds 1-2K views per hour 

Profile clicks start happening = Algorithm amplifies exponentially 
Multiple follows per hour = 100K+ territory 
Sustained follows = 300K+ possible

Why profile views?

Because LinkedIn wants network growth.

Profile clicks = potential new connections.


Save this.
Test it against your own posts.
Watch the pattern.

P.S. This has nothing to do with follower count. You just need to write things people actually finish reading.

LinkedIn shouldn’t feel like an emotional rollercoaster.

For a lot of founders, it does. Here’s why: 

One post lands → good mood.

One post flops → spiral.

That’s because the only feedback loop you’re watching is the scoreboard.

- Views.
- Likes.
- Follower count.

When those numbers become the main signal, everything starts to feel heavier than it needs to be.

You hesitate before posting.

And you overthink what to say.

If that’s you, here’s what you should keep in mind:

Content isn’t there to validate you.

It’s there to do a job.

Different posts have different jobs.

→ Some are meant to start conversations.
→ Some are meant to explain how you think.
→ Some are meant to sit quietly and be found later by the right person.

If you judge all of them by the same metric, it’ll always feel frustrating.

Instead, decide what each post is for before you publish it.

- If it’s for conversation → look at replies.
- If it’s for clarity → notice the DMs or saves.
- If it’s for positioning → pay attention to who starts recognizing you.

When you separate your sense of progress from the public numbers, something changes.

Posting feels lighter.

Showing up feels easier.

And LinkedIn stops feeling like a test you’re constantly trying to figure out.

The fastest way to guarantee you'll never land a high ticket client on LinkedIn?

Convince yourself you can't.

That's it.

That's the only thing standing between you and the business you want.

If you keep getting 200-250 impressions per post, read this:

Posting more on LinkedIn WILL NOT fix your low impressions.

Let's say you're posting 5 days a week.
200 impressions per post.
15% engagement rate.

Your immediate reaction is to do MORE...

So you decide to comment on more posts.
In order to "get your name out there"
But it's exhausting.

Your content isn't necessarily the problem.
(that engagement rate is pretty strong)

It tells you:

- Your hook was good
- Your message was good
- Your audience quality is good

So if you have low impressions but high engagement, what's going wrong??

When reach drops, naturally most people panic and do MORE.

- Post daily instead of 3x a week 
- Comment on everything 

But doing more won't fix this issue.
(actually it makes it worse)

Posting daily shortens the algorithm's testing window.

It trains LinkedIn to show your content to fewer people.

Do this instead:

1. Stop posting daily for a few weeks 
2. Move to 3 strong posts (2x ToF & 1x MoF) 
3. Judge posts by saves, comments & reposts
