2026 is my 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. I’m turning my career into a laboratory for the 'Strategic Off-Season'.

Over the holidays, I looked at my long-term vision and found a single thread connecting my corporate work, my passion for elite sport, and my love for travel.

That thread is 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙖𝙨 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙮.

Championships aren't won on match day. They are won in the off-season—where athletes repair, upgrade, and design their next win. Yet most leaders try to play 365 days a year. They grind, they burnout, and they lose their edge.

So, I’m shifting my focus. Alongside my role at Tractable, I am dedicating 2026 to exploring the "Architecture of a Good Life" through three specific lenses:

I used to think "more visibility" meant more impact.

I’m building a 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀. But the blueprint didn’t come from a business textbook.

Imagine a red clay tennis court surrounded by silence.
A stable for horses.
A kitchen serving local flavors where the only deadline is "dinner."
This isn't a holiday brochure.
It's my 10-year business plan.

I call it the "𝘋𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘺 𝘐𝘯𝘯" project. Yes, the blueprint comes from 𝘎𝘪𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘴.
But the strategy comes from years of observing burnout in the corporate world.

I realized that high performers don’t need more "productivity hacks."
They need environment design.
They need a space where the "red zone" of cortisol is physically impossible to sustain.

I am currently scouting locations and designing the experience.
But I’m not waiting 10 years to live the philosophy.

I’m turning my current home into a lab for this lifestyle:
→ "Unplugged" mornings (Sunlight before screen light).
→ Midday walks (The non-negotiable 12:00 PM reset with my dog).
→ Travel upgrades (Investing in sleep quality over flight savings).

You don’t need to own an Inn to architect a sanctuary. You just need to stop designing your life around your inbox.

On Sunday, FC Barcelona won the Supercopa de España. But for me, the most important moment wasn't the trophy—it was the man who raised it.

Ronald Araújo, the team’s captain and one of the best defenders in the world, recently did something rare in elite sport.

A few weeks ago, he stepped away from the pitch entirely. It wasn’t a physical injury. He admitted he had "mentally collapsed" and needed to rebuild his self-confidence and focus away from the pressure.

In the old world of leadership, a captain admitting "mental struggle" was a liability. You were told to "grind harder" or "tough it out."

Barcelona and their coach, Hansi Flick, chose a different protocol. They didn't give him a deadline. They gave him a "Strategic Off-Season"—five weeks of total discretion to reset his internal system.

The result? He returned for the final this weekend, subbed on in the 90th minute to secure a 3-2 lead against Real Madrid. He didn't return weaker; he returned as the anchor the team needed to win.


The Field Notes for Corporate Athletes:

Recovery is a Strategy, Not a Reward: In business, we treat "time off" as something we earn after we burn out. In elite performance, recovery is the work that allows you to perform.

Vulnerability as a Diagnostic Tool: Recognizing when your "cognitive load" is maxed out isn't quitting. It’s a professional audit that prevents a long-term crash.

Architecture over Hustle: Araújo’s return was successful because his environment (his "Board" and his Coach) was designed to support a reset, not punish it.

If an elite athlete in the middle of a trophy race is allowed to pause and recalibrate, why are you still treating your burnout like a badge of honor?

Success doesn't require suffering. It requires better design.
