I am writing this post even though I am currently in the busiest season of my life…

Since the beginning of 2025, our agency has supported our clients in generating over $30M just through using Facebook Ads.

We’ve helped some of them grow their ad spend by 300% YoY.

We’ve created more than 5000 unique ad creatives.

That gives us the unique opportunity to understand exactly what’s working on Meta when it comes to ad creative production.

And these are the key trends we’ve observed so far that have allowed our clients to grow even when all the circumstances have played against us.

1️⃣ VSL ad creatives

Since the Andromeda update was released by Meta, many brands have started seeing a decline in net new reach. Some of them have resolved this by introducing Partnership ads.

That’s a fix until the next update on Meta is released.

One thing many people still don’t understand is that if you want ad creatives that truly have the potential to scale past $1m/mo in ad spend, you need to tap into the Unaware and Problem Aware stages of awareness.

There’s no better ad type for that than VSL ads.

2️⃣ UGC 2.0

UGC ads, as we used to run them in 2022, are not working anymore.

Because everyone is using them.

We’re now in the days of low-production ad formats that mimic what people see organically on their feed.

> Podcast ads,
> Founder-led content,
> Customer calls,
> Street Interviews, etc

3️⃣ Huge B-roll Libraries

If you scroll through the ads of every 9-figure brand, you’ll notice the same thing.

Most of them use the same b-roll footage with a different voiceover in a different sequence.

Instead of chasing content creators every time they need a new ad, they just tap into the library they’ve built so far.

This can cut your production time from 4 weeks to 4 hours.

Collect your foundational footage and stop being enslaved to content creators.

The previous 2 documents I shared will help you with that.

This is undeniably the best ad we’ve created in 2025.

It combines so many different elements of what we’ve seen work in 2025 after having spent over $20M on Meta ads.

We’re not selling a hairbrush; we’re selling an emotional story that the viewer needs to be part of.

The single most powerful choice we’ve made here is to tell the story from the POV of the husband and the co-founder of the brand. His empathy for the struggles of his wife makes the ad feel like a love letter, not a promotion.

Of course, the ad follows the typical hero’s journey:

> a struggle,
> a turning point,
> a victory,

which is a narrative so deeply ingrained into the consumer's mindset by every Western movie that keeps the viewer glued to the screen, expecting to see the ending of the story.

There is also a seamless integration of direct-response marketing principles:

> selling against the competition,
> introducing a unique mechanism,
> social proof,
> risk reversal.

The whole ad is meant to look like something people would watch on their organic feed, but with elements that would make them relate to the problem, understand why everything else on the market fails, and push them to take action now.

This is one of the best ads I’ve seen in 2025.

It doesn’t sell a solution… it sells a fantasy.

You can’t sell to a generation that hates being sold to.

So you can’t create an ad.

You have to create a movie.

They also know their audience inside out.

Whop is selling to a generation that has spent their childhood playing computer games.

GTA taps into a universally understood fantasy of freedom, wealth, and breaking the rules.

The Us vs Them dynamic creates a common enemy - the traditional path (college, job) - and positions the audience as the enlightened ones on a completely different route.

The editing injects dopamine.

Supercars, private jets, luxury penthouses.

The ad sells the destination.

Not the hard work of the journey.

Appealing directly to the audience's deepest aspirations.

Through the whole ad, there is not a single mention of “Whop”.

Such a high-status move.

It creates an aura of exclusivity, implying that if you're part of the cool crowd, you already know what it is.

Top-tier advertising.

It feels like TrueClassic has taken the “this N8N + NanoBanana workflow has replaced my $80000k/month creative team” seriously.

Look at those pants lol...

This can't be a serious advertising effort from a brand that many people are looking up to.

Agency Update: September 🤯

September was by far the busiest month for us so far this year.

In terms of client performance, everything is smooth. We saw a significant drop after Labor Day, but in the past 1.5 - 2 weeks, things have stabilized, although you can tell that most people are already waiting for the Q4 discounts, so September performance is definitely worse than August.

In terms of how the agency is going…

The more we scale, the more I realise how difficult it actually is to grow an agency because of all the operational challenges that occur when growing.

And we scaled quite drastically.

The amount of interest we generated during September from brands wanting to work with us was something I couldn’t imagine happening 6 months ago.

We’re now speaking to more 8-, & 9-figure businesses than we are speaking to unqualified prospects.

The team is showing up.

Our creative strategy is the best it has ever been.

That’s a result of countless hours spent with the team discussing direct-response marketing, copywriting & psychology books, breaking down winning ads, and consulting sessions with world-class individuals behind the leading DTC brands.

All the effort we’ve put into improving our service in the last 9 months is coming to life.

Our client feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

Our video editing is the best it has ever been.

All of that led to operational challenges that made me bring on an operations manager to help us resolve them.

We’re also being consulted by the COO of a very successful DTC agency who has an answer to every question I have (shoutout to Kyle Hunt).

In the past few months, I have convinced myself again that paying people who are ahead of you for advice is a cheat code for faster growth.

Today also marks 5 years since we signed our first agency client.

It just doesn’t get boring.

We’re currently managing close to $2m/mo in ad spend on Meta, and these are the 3 things we see work inside ad accounts.

The screenshot you see is from the month of August. I have to say that September has been a bit slower when it comes to performance.

We saw a dip after Labor Day, which lasted about 2 weeks.

The following 2 weeks were more stable but still not up to the same level as August.

You can tell that people are already waiting for all the discounts during Q4.

With that said, 3 things currently stand out.

1️⃣ Long-form works

Long-form content is unmatched when it comes to selling products that require a bit more education.

There is no such thing as an ad that’s too long.

The right people will watch a 10-minute ad if they find it interesting enough.

People crave education, so that’s what you have to give them with your ads.

2️⃣ 10s emotional videos

We’ve been amazed to see how well really short videos perform if they focus on emotion.

One of the top-performing ads for us right now is a 10s animated slideshow.

2 things make it work so well:

> the hook - a wall of text focusing on the emotional aspect of solving the problem
> the slideshow - images of the desired transformation achieved after using your product

Example for an acne cream:

> Hook = “this is just a cream”
> Slideshow = images showing the full transformation

These ads work so well because you’re not making any claims about the product, the story or transformation you show implies the benefits more powerfully than words ever could

3️⃣ Advertorial static ads to advertorial landing page

This is a deadly combination.

Very few DTC brands use dedicated landing pages to send traffic to.

The key here is to create specific landing pages for each angle you’re running.

> Founder ads → Advertorial telling the founder's story
> Educational ad → Educational LP

Your landing page should be congruent with your ad.

Having this in place might decrease your CPA by up to 50%.

Mindset shifts that allowed us to scale past $1m/mo.

1. Treat your ad account like an ecosystem

Your ads are not working in isolation.

You probably optimize based on target CPA, and if an ad is underperforming, you turn it off.

That makes sense ,but you have to realize that each ad your ICP sees is a stepping stone towards the conversion event.

Very few ads will take someone from Unaware to Buyer (possible only with VSL ads).

So create content that:

> educates,
> builds trust,
> adds social proof,
> demonstrates how your product works,
> and presents an offer.

2. Stop only targeting people who’re looking for your product

We recently onboarded a client that couldn’t scale past $100k/mo in ad spend.

When we looked at their ad library, we saw that most of their ads are:

> demonstrating the product in action,
> showing an offer.

This meant they were only targeting people in the final stages of the buying decision.


These are low-quality customers because most of the time, they will go with the cheapest option on the market.

If you want to be an industry-leading brand, you have to start creating desire for your product instead of only capitalising on a pre-existing desire created by your competitors.

That happens mostly by educating people or inspiring them to become a better version of themselves.

And that means that you have to stop talking about your product and focus on talking about the transformation that your product enables.

3. Stop relying on UGC ads

UGC still works and scales, but here's what most brands are missing:

UGC ads can't take someone from completely unaware to ready to buy in a single ad.

They're perfect for warm audiences who already know they have a problem and are considering solutions.

But if you want to unlock massive cold audiences - the ones that will take you from $300k to $3M/month - you need long-form VSL ads.

Most brands are terrified of running 2-3 minute ads because of the limiting belief that "people won't watch long ads" or "everything should be 45 seconds max."

This is complete nonsense.

The right person will watch a 10-minute ad if it's solving a problem they care about. The wrong person won't watch a 10-second ad.

Long-form VSLs are the only ad format that can:

> Educate someone about a problem they didn't know they had
> Build enough trust to overcome skepticism
> Explain complex mechanisms and benefits
> Handle objections before they arise
> Create genuine desire for transformation

While your competitors fight over warm audiences with 30-second UGC clips, you're capturing massive cold audiences that don't even know your category exists yet.

This is how you build a category-defining brand instead of just another option in a crowded market.

Each creative type serves a different person at a different stage of awareness.

Meta's own data shows an 8% increase in ad quality when advertisers provide meaningful creative diversity.

The old approach was creating 10 variations of the same concept.

The new approach is creating 10 fundamentally different concepts.

If Meta is your primary acquisition channel generating 8-figures+ annually, creative diversity is your insurance policy against algorithm changes and creative fatigue.

One bad day with limited creative options can have a devastating impact on your revenue.

Act accordingly!

Thoughts after interviewing over 100 applicants for the role of Creative Strategist.

1. Good talent doesn’t need to be expensive

I’ve spoken with a lot of people from the US and outside. There are so many talented individuals from Europe, South America, and Asia who are 2x to 3x more affordable than US talent but can deliver the same or higher quality work.

2. Most creative strategists don’t know direct-response marketing

Unfortunately, I’ve spoken with countless individuals who hear about VSL ad creatives for the first time during our interview.

Eugene Schwartz, David Ogilvy, and Robert Cialdini are names they haven’t heard before, which is a red flag for me, as direct-response marketing is the core of good advertising.

I haven’t seen too many ads that are not VSLs to have scaled past $1m in ad spend.

If you can’t write those, you can’t expect a $100k/year salary, imo.

3. It’s still hard to find good and experienced strategists

And I don’t think that’s because they are not smart enough.

The creative strategy position is still new. People only started talking about it 2-3 years ago.

There are also not that many courses that teach creative strategy. There’s one from Dara Denney (good foundations but outdated) and one from Barry Hott (haven’t seen it but haven’t heard a bad thing about it).

So people have no place to learn.

The best people I’ve come across are people who have started as copywriters, have read all the good books on persuasion, and have transitioned to creative strategists once that position was created.

This is one of the most useful AI implementations if you run Meta ads.

Animating your static ads.

If you have static ads that are winning inside your ad account, get a subscription for Kling AI and animate them.

It’s the easiest way to extend the life of your winners while also turning them into an ad format that will be shown to a different audience.

1️⃣ Breakthrough Advertising - can’t recommend this enough, especially for creative strategists who want to become top-performers. It teaches you the foundations of how to sell to people.

2️⃣ Cashvertising - similar to No.1, it teaches you fundamentals about consumer psychology and how to influence it using words.

3️⃣ The 16-word sales letter - written by a copywriter who’s generated hundreds of millions, if not billions, of sales for his clients. It’s pretty much a must-read if you want to start writing winning VSL ads.

4️⃣ Great Leads - a book that teaches you the different ways to start your ads, aka your hooks. Everything you need to know about how to address different pockets of your audience.

5️⃣ The five dysfunctions of a team - was recommended to me by a team member and helped me understand what needs to be done to align our team with the big vision we have for growing our agency.

6️⃣ High Output Management - at some point, growing an agency stops being a lead generation problem and becomes a Management/HR problem. I haven’t found a better book for building scalable internal systems.

To me, there are no excuses for not reading books.

Someone has already been on the path that you’re walking on.

Reading books means you’re learning from those people who could be your shortcut to success.
