I was nearly walked out the door at my first sales job. After being a teacher for years and living below the poverty line, I transitioned to sales so I could make more money. But I felt in over my head. I wasn't prepared for all the hang-ups, rejection, and emotional turmoil that would come with the big commission checks I was looking for. But instead of focusing on the failures, I began to develop consistent sales skills that carried me through the ups and downs.
