"Megan is nothing short of amazing. Our company has been growing while having a hard time keeping up with our social media presence. Megan jumped right in, helped get things organized, cleaned up our website, developed a marketing calendar, and pretty much ran the show from that point forward. With very limited oversight, she has done an incredible job. Megan is easy to communicate with, great with feedback, and very willing to get down to work." People will spend all day on social media looking for some magic formula, but... It doesn't exist. You have to be willing to put in the work. You have to write a lot of sh*t down & think. Once you research and land on a plan, now you have to actually put it into action. Only after that can you evaluate what to do next. Only then do you know how it worked for you. And then? Time to take that info and begin again. Anyway, here's a reminder to start and stop getting in your own way. โจ๏ธโจ๏ธ If you need help, DM me "START" and I'll give you some actionable feedback on your content. โจ๏ธโจ๏ธ
Being vulnerable is hard. Trust me, I completely get it ๐ I had a painful and exhausting childhood. When I was really young, verbalizing my words mattered. It made the yelling stop. But as I got older, and things got worse, those words didn't hold the same weight. I started using music to express my feelings. I would write songs ...perform or record them. I would buy CD's and leave notes telling my parents which track to listen to, never knowing if they listened. When I was 14, my parents were officially divorced. I had prayed for that, thinking it'd help, but no. It didn't. So, I wrote my story. At 14 years old, I had more than enough heartache and hope...hope that things could be better. I shared my story with our extended family. I shared my story with a judge across the US. I felt heard, cared for, and like things could change. Not just for me. I wanted it to be better for us all. I was put in a worse situation. My family fell even more apart. But it set the stage for our future. Which started by me telling my truth. At 38, I have never had a better relationship with my mom than I do now. I sadly don't have a relationship with father anymore, but I still send him music to this day. Years ago, I couldn't have imagined either of these changes, but they stemmed from being vulnerable ...open and honest, while empathizing with who they are as humans. I can't ever see that as a bad thing. Just a reminder that your feelings... They matter โค๏ธ The path to your highest self is in honoring them. Maybe I'll post some songs I've been sharing recently below... feel free to do the same ๐ซถ
Audits help point out flaws, yes, but do they make a continued impact? โWeak CTA.โ โInconsistent voice.โ โThis performs better than that.โ Helpful, sure. But if your content still isnโt converting, itโs time to ask better questions. Hereโs what your next audit should help you answer: โ Does your content strategy align with your business goals right now? โ Is your brand voice consistent and intentional or just habitual? โ Is your message attracting the caliber of customer you want going forward? โ Are your strongest offers supported clearly across all channels? โ Is your team creating for convenience or actual business momentum? โ Are you telling the same story across your site, social, and email, or are you unknowingly diluting trust? If an audit doesnโt help you see the misalignment beneath the surface, youโre going to make some light changes and continue the cycle of staying stuck. Instead, look for someone who knows they need to comprehend more than your social feeds and deliver a strategy that helps move business forward. I perform four Content Evaluations per month. Dannnnnggg, somewhere recently... I exceeded 5k followers ๐๐๐ I should definitely try harder here, lol. But sheesh, I'm a quality over quantity girl who still gets the ick growing my following. Sure, sure.... it's one of the things I do for my clients, but that's never the objective, ya know? Brands that are like, "we want to massively ramp up our follower count" with no deeper context behind that statement are not for me. (I have heard the dumbest sh*t, I swear.) "Followers"/people giving you the time of day need to be viewed as so much more than that. Yeah, some of them are bots or creeps ๐ซ , but most are genuine humans interested... In what you're selling them. In community potential. In the brand you ๐. Anyway, I'm going shopping today.. (โ๏ธretail therapy โ ๏ธfield research) ..but thanks to everyone who engages with me! I've been lucky to meet many amazing people over the past couple of years here and I'm looking forward to meeting more!!! ^the issue is I actually DO run a business and I put myself last....though this isn't "myself"/a hobby, it helps fuel the work I love, soooo I'll be fixing that!!! ...but first...shopping ๐.
I don't think it starts with audience research. I think strategy starts with the brand. The founders and their team. The capacity, goals, what they care about. The things they are actually able to execute. You can't build a plan until you understand whatโs true internally. Because even the best audience insights wonโt help you if youโre building from a place of pressure and chaos. So yes... I zoom out to see the market, but I always zoom in first... On the humans. On the heart of the business. On whatโs real and possible right now. Thatโs strategy. Not a calendar someone downloaded from the internet ๐. It starts with slowing down long enough to understand what youโre working with. Because no one will care much about the content if the foundation was never aligned.
My life looked quite different 3 years ago. Mentally, I was in bad shape, but... I had no other option than to perform. Our teenage daughter was diagnosed with a genetic connective tissue disorder, that only came to light when her health rapidly declined from extremely terrible co-morbidities. We fought for answers for a year. Endured neglect, accusations, abuse. But all we wanted was to keep her alive. It sounds dramatic because it was. Our once seemingly healthy child.. Admitted she needed a wheelchair. Advocated for an NJ feeding tube. Fought when no one else would. I barely slept that year because I was constantly researching medical literature and deeply considering how we should communicate before countless appointments. When you have a teenage girl losing tons of weight, doctors don't automatically think about numerous rare conditions. They go straight to attention seeking, eating disorders, and/or Munchausen syndrome. (I won't list all the conditions, but 33% of patients with Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome die --one of her compressions, which blocks the intestines.) Every single word and tone of voice mattered. I had to learn how to speak to each office and be quick on my feet with new drs if we wanted help. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Rethinking the approach to persuade was normal. At one point we worried they might try to take her from us. Trusting anyone became very difficult. I hated my kids witnessing that reality. So, we shared her story and admitted to ourselves that we had to go to Germany to see doctors who were more familiar with cases similar to hers (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome + vascular compressions). It felt uncomfortable and overwhelming, but it was the right choice at an urgent time. A local business started a fundraiser. A U.S. senator expedited passports. We got her to knowledgeable drs. We remembered people care โก. That season changed everything. On the plane ride home from Germany, I started piecing together *this* business. In just over a month, I had my first contract. I leaned into the skill that had always given me better outcomes in tough situations: โก๏ธ Strategic communication. I donโt help businesses โmake content.โ I help them communicate with intention... with clarity, heart, and real strategy behind it. Because whether you're fighting for a life, or building something that mattersโฆ The way you communicate can change everything.
