I went from a 🍗 KFC chick to building a multi-million brand, Chubbiverse. First, I graduated as an interior designer; I love the creativity of it, but the 9-5 killed my vibe. I switched gears to be an artist, and that's how I became "String"; creating stories on the streets. While it allowed me to be creative and won grants and all. It sucked to be poor. I was told to go on the dole, but I said no. Still, I kept moving forward. Slowly and consistently, folks kept asking me how to market and create content on social media. I switched gears again, and went all in on content marketing and personal branding. I jumped on to LinkedIn early and gained traction by doing videos, and was recongised as a LinkedIn Top Voice, 4 years running. With my first startup, The Trusted Voice; using the 7V framework, we help invisible smart professionals become The Trusted Voice in their industry. I was given $30,000 in exchange for equity shares to explore that idea. Then COVID hit, and I bought back my shares of my business for a dollar. Did TTV succeed? Kinda - I was on track to find Product-Market-Fit. But then a friend pulled me into NFT. I loved it, it allowed me to explore the intersections of creativity, innovation, community and entrepreneurship. Based on my network, I got a team together and we created 250 hand-drawn derpy chubby unicorns, we uploaded them to Opensea (an NFT marketplace), and wow… many folks in the metaverse went wild for them. Famous folks like DJ Steve Aoki and Pplpleasr are Chubbicorn holders. Sparkles flew like cray, and it kickstarted a rollercoaster ride. Within 3 months, we launched the Chubbiverse. It became a multi-million dollar brand. In the Chubbiverse, we're spreading giggles and good vibes. We do a lot of rainbow farts🌈 because it's fun. I share this story because I'm not an overnight success. I work hard to hone and stack my skills as a creative storyteller, networker and entrepreneur. All to position me for that something. That something is Chubbiverse. If a KFC chick can do it, so can you. My advice for you is to: 🍗 Never stop being curious 🍗 Never stop using your voice 🍗 Never stop being creative and finding your 'something'.
