The job post: “If you're organized, yet a bit scatter-brained, and can work to drive meaningful results and report against these results, let's chat.” Me: 🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️ I can brainstorm 10 ideas before breakfast, chase down every wild possibility, and still have a fully mapped-out strategy by lunch. Scatterbrained enough to explore every angle— organized enough to tie it all together in a system that runs itself. If you need someone who thrives in the messy middle but delivers polished results, I’m your person. 😊
A little more than a year ago… I started writing on LinkedIn seriously to build my voice as a B2B creator. ➡️ Today, I’m getting peer shoutouts alongside my LinkedIn faves. 🥹 A little more than 2 months ago… I launched my Substack & LinkedIn newsletters to give my in-depth thoughts a home. ➡️ Today, I have 1,200+ subscribers across both—and an occasional LinkedIn request from execs at SaaS brands I admire. ☺️ A little more than 2 decades ago… I dreamed of getting paid just to write. (I’ve done it before as a blogger and freelancer. But this time, I want to earn as a B2B creator too.) ➡️ Today, I have 2 paying users and a newsletter sponsorship inquiry from an AI SaaS. 🤩 (ackkk, it's legit and I just sent over my media kit!) Don't underestimate acting on the dream God has planted in your heart. P.S. I'll be opening 30-minute SaaS email consults next week too. DM me "EMAIL" if you want to grab a time early. For now, you can download the SaaS Email Planner so you can map out your emails in 1 day. Link below. P.P.S. The last few weeks have been chaos personally, but glad that my content works for me now. 👌 #SaaS | #Emails | #Lifecycle
Don't have the bandwidth to create SaaS email educational posts lately. AI's keeping me too busy! Next build: SaaS Onboarding Email Planner For now, you can SaaS Email Planner. Link on my bio. :)
🙄😂😢 Me when I got targeted by a LinkedIn ad of an ex-prospect who played with our feelings before. Bru, I’m not your target market. You need enterprise/midmarket leads, right? The hoops we went through just to close this prospect before: 🤷🏻♀️ Presented a pitch face-to-face 🤷🏻♀️ Did a couple of revisions and lots of calls 🤷🏻♀️ Celebrated when they picked us as vendor (yay) 🤷🏻♀️ Moped around a bit when they changed their mind and cancelled our outreach engagement before we could even start We found out they decided to work with an SEO agency instead. Still sad to see how they’re wasting their marketing budget on this.
This is probably what they meant by "Be weird on LinkedIn". cue music: *Wouldn't it be nice if we were older?*
Free users not converting? Fixing your onboarding is just one of the solutions. I've talked to 30+ SaaS experts and lucky me, They shared what exactly they did to convert their free trials. 1️⃣ It's pretty obvious. Can you guess? They improved the onboarding process relentlessly. Investing in a behavior-based email onboarding tool like Encharge, Customer.io, and Intercom is a non-negotiable. 2️⃣ Product changes. Those who have 2x’ed their conversion rates? They experimented heavily with product changes: — trial length — doing reverse trials — moving valued features to higher-tiered packages 3️⃣ Mix it up Most tried 2-5 different tactics to improve their numbers. 4️⃣ Lesser known onboarding strategies You need to go up your funnel to solve onboarding sometimes. Some: — Doubled down on their user targeting — Tweaked their messaging — Adopted to market trends Want to dig into their actual tactics? I'm leaving the link to the blog post I wrote below. 👇 Yep, aside from doing SaaS emails, I loveee writing about them. P.S. What free user challenge are you trying to solve right now? 👀 💡 Not enough users upgrading? ⏳ Users getting stuck in onboarding? 🚪 Too many trial abandoners? Drop a comment, and I’ll address them in my next posts. #SaaS #PLG #SaaSOnboarding
Ever logged into a fresh SaaS account and went 😟? Coz it feels like walking into an empty house with a massive to-do list: 😵💫 Set up your workspace 😵💫 Connect your CRM 😵💫 Invite your team 😵💫 Configure your settings 😵💫 Watch our 30-minute tutorial It's supposed to be your most exciting day, but it's just... anti-climactic. No wonder... Only 1 out of 4 new SaaS users activate. Meaning, only 25% experience the true value of your product. So if you can't PLG fix your SaaS right now, here's an idea: Try the Tiny Ask Fix on your emails for that extra nudge. ✨ Instead of big, upfront tasks in your CTAs, reframe your request into a Tiny Ask. Instead of "Set up everything now!", try: ✦ "Pick your display name" ✦ "Try this template" ✦ "See the transcription magic" (and provide a sample file they can play with right away rather than asking them to upload one) Here’s what it does to your users’ brains. When we start small, our brains are like "Okayyy, I can work with this!". Instead of triggering our fear response, tiny asks activate our reward system. And your users’ brains don’t distinguish between a small win and a big one anyways. So a win is a win. I shared how you can use Tiny Asks on your SaaS emails so more users see how amaaaazing your app actually is! (I revamped actual emails from Chipp, Cleve, and Every Inc.'s Spiral inside!) Link below. 👇🏼 #SaaSemails | #SaaS | #EmailMarketing
B2B/Tech Founders… 15 mins. That’s all the time it takes with your LinkedIn Creative Partner to uncover your best stories of the week. One client shared this with a grin: 👉 “Our latest post got the most impressions so far...” And when I checked, it got likes from: — Senior Directors — Director of Sales — Financial & Operational Leaders a.k.a. warm connections you can start talking to. 😉 Ready to turn 15 minutes into your top-performing content on LinkedIn (and in the inbox)? Let’s talk.
Oh, how challenging it is to be a woman — 4 mins before call, your kid needs to $ — So you ask to push out your call for 5 mins — And you go back into Zoom as if nothing happened Context/persona switching/multitasking is a non-negotiable skill if you're a mom. Whatever challenge you have as a woman, ...kid-related or not ...corporate or freelancer things ...office politics or ̶w̶o̶m̶a̶n̶ founder issues ...equal pay or geo-based pay rants ...DDS or not ( God bless 🇵🇭) I root for you. #InternationalWomensDay
OpenAI's image update is fire 🔥 I've seen the e-commerce ones. The realistic dog photos. And all those selfie clones. But I recreated my past SaaS infographic and... Ugh, doesn't look right. 🥴 SaaS designers, I celebrate with you guys. You're safe.
Sooo an AI SaaS “would love to sponsor a post” on my Substack newsletter 🥹 Putting this here on LinkedIn because I want more opportunities 🙌 P.S. I still take email projects though. And opening my calendar for free SaaS email consults (check featured posts for the linkie). ;)
Last week, I went live inside my FB Group (rare moment!) to answer a question: 👉 How do you consistently create good LinkedIn content? (Even though I really don't feel like I do.) Consistent creators build systems that make content effortless, yes. But some (like me, who still flops and misses on *some* days) have a default back-up system to save them on lazy days. I call it my Default Lazy Content Strategy. It's just a fancy name I came up with on the fly during the live, But the last time we did it for our B2B Tech client, they went semi-viral and got 3-4 booked calls with CSuites from that post alone. I'm thinking of doing a breakdown of my strategy in the next issue of my newsletter. If you want to step-by-step, you can subscribe via the link below. 👇 P.S. Shoutout to those who listened to my 10-minute live. Thank you! Just like LinkedIn, the reach inside my FB Group sucks. 8.2+k members, 66 reacts, 15 comments, and only 300+ reach? 😤 I wished I doubled down on building my email list 4 years ago. #LinkedIn #Content
WHAT YOU NEED TO LAST IN THE SELF-EMPLOYMENT GAME (Besides Delivering Results) Results in marketing? Hard to pull off. And let’s be real—you will not always pull in great results 100% of the time, especially in B2B. But I’ve kept clients for 6+ years and counting. How? By doing what most freelancers and marketers overlook: 👉 LEAD Your clients feel lost. You don’t need to be the best expert in the room— Just make them a little less clueless. Show them a plan, the next step, and how it ties back to their goals. 👉 TALK NUMBERS I swear by reports. One time, I shared a win and got a half-hearted applause. Meh. So, I dug into the numbers, showed the charts, and retold the win. That’s how I went from Copywriter to Marketing Manager. 👉 COMMUNICATE EVERYTHING Not just the wins. The bad. The ugly. Your mistakes. Clients don’t expect perfection. But they do expect honesty. 👉 DEAL WITH PEOPLE Most businesses? They’re built on people. Lots of them. So learn to: - Manage down (your team or direct reports) - Side manage (colleagues, other depts, agencies) - Manage up (clients, CEOs) Yes, results are a given. But these unspoken skills? They are what make or break long-term success. If you’ve mastered these, congrats—you have a 6-figure skillset! And oftentimes, these aren’t on the deliverables list. That are NOT visible/obvious even to us freelancers, Even agency owners kinda forget about it. But these are the skills that could say if we're gonna be in the industry for the long term...or NOT. #Freelancing #ClientManagement
Hunting for opps? Don't just send in your resume. Pitch some quick campaign ideas on top of your mind. Don't just send a DM or throw some samples. Send in a video introduction. Don't just enumerate your past successes. Share your framework and explain how it can also work for them. Inspired by Luis Tun #NoteToSelf
Woah, I just built a complete pitch deck in 6 minutes after signing up for Gamma 🤯 And a shareable website version? Ready in under a minute. (Canva is shaking, lol but I love it still) SaaS teams shouldn’t sleep on using AI in their onboarding. There’s no more excuse for: ❌ Empty states ❌ Waiting endlessly for document uploads ❌ Users getting stuck when asked for inputs AI bridges these gaps! With just a few prompts, you can fast-track users—not just to their AHA moments—but to tangible outputs they can use immediately. Like for me… I’m actually sending this deck to a potential client who’s shifting from sales-led to PLG and needs help mobilizing their PLG GTM. Wish me luck! Best part? Gamma runs on credits, so I can access features and just top up when needed. Of course, shout out to Nick Broekema who shared his Gamma Pitch deck prompts x SOP yesterday. Super helpful. 🫡 They should hire you for onbaording SOPs, but leave some clients for me too. lol. I’m doing a breakdown of My First Seven Minutes With Gamma. (Should I make this a series? lol) Will publish it on The Glimmer Code ✦ Newsletter next week. Subscribe to not miss it!
LinkedIn's cleaning up If you don't want to get swept out of the platform, read these: 1️⃣ BIG NEWS last week Apollo and Seamless . AI LinkedIn pages got banned. They're gone. Years of content & brand building down the drain. Go search for it on LinkedIn. But they still have employees with STRONG personal brands on LinkedIn. And they have email lists of their customers and prospects anyway. I care because one of my clients is in the B2B prospecting space. 2️⃣ Another founder got banned on LinkedIn Reason? He hired an agency using "the most advanced LinkedIn AI automation." His account ended up leaving spam comments on 1000s of posts. Ugh, AI comments. Now let's talk about this. 3️⃣ In a pod? Maybe watch your back. If you're in a LinkedIn pod, we know that. LinkedIn will eventually know too. One of my writing students asked me about spam AI comments on LinkedIn, and I always tell them I have a better route they will want to follow. That could land them not just engagement but quality connections, questing requests, and clients. Play the long game. It's peaceful. With these news, I think LinkedIn will be hot on these next: 😑 Connecting & DM automation tools 😑 Pods and AI commenters 😑 Services and agencies promoting LI automation We gotta respect the platform rules if we're playing by their rules. And yes, this is the part where I say to build your own email list, but I bet you are already thinking of it. So if you need help, you know where to find me. P.S. If I'm not writing emails, I work with a team to help you get LinkedIn leads without the scrapers or automation. And all while building your brand here with content. Nope, I'm not talking about going viral or getting to 20k followers. It's more about getting CSuites and your fellow event/conference goers to notice you and book a call with you. More on this in my next post. So give me a follow. ;) P.S. What’s your take on this?
"We didn’t just 2x our SaaS email revenue this month. It’s also up 2-3x vs. the last 3-4 months." Our data guy just dropped this in our Slack channel👆 And yeah… it made my night. 😏 Now, I couldn't tell you exactly what we did… But here's what I can share instead: 1. Topics move the needle. If you're still A/B testing subject lines, you'll get what? 1-2% change. Test ideas, topics, or pain points instead. This will give you the data spike that you're looking for. 2. Sell to the 5% who are ready to buy without pissing off the 95% who aren’t. How? By turning your emails into micro-funnels that shift thinking: ✅ Hook readers with a real problem ✅ Offer non-obvious, genuinely useful insights ✅ Introduce your product as the easier, faster way to solve it The 95% will keep opening because you provide value. The 5% will buy faster because you earned their trust. 3. Know what makes each segment tick. 📌 Blog subscribers? They want trends, strategies, resources. 📌 Lead magnet downloaders? They want quick, actionable wins. 📌 Expired trials? They need a reason to commit—new features, a timely nudge, or just a push to take action. Lifecycle marketing is an art and a science. (Pardon this conclusion. HAHA. Can't think anymore and I need to grab dinner with the fam and publish this post lol). Sooo if you’re doing emails right... Your reports should look like ours. 😉 If you need help, start with my free SaaS Email Planner. Featured post. :) #SaaS #EmailMarketing #LifecycleMarketing
NOT feeling like an imposter anymore! 💁🏻♀️ I finally have an email funnel for my SaaS offer. Here’s how I got here: - Spent 10+ years putting clients and others first. - Bought an email inbox. - Overthought every little thing for 2+ months. - Asked friends, my community, and email list to help warm up the domain. - Watched the imposter syndrome slowly disappear. 😂 I haven’t done the “Comment EMAIL to get my lead magnet” LinkedIn post yet—haha. But here we are. Numbers look good. Now I just need to distribute this thing. Sooo... *clears throat*... 📩 Need help mapping your SaaS emails across the entire lifecycle? ✅ See where your gaps are. ✅ Organize the email chaos in your head. ✅ Get a clear plan to optimize your funnel. Go grab my SaaS Email Planner—link below! 👇🏼 #SaaS #Emails
I left a stable engineering job to write from home. And I felt embarrassed to share it because, in society’s eyes, it was a downgrade. Turns out, that was the smartest career move I made. According to the latest LinkedIn B2B Marketing Benchmark report, left- and right-brained thinking are important for today's B2B Marketer: 🧠 Innovative thinking (43%) 🧠 Agility/Adaptability (41%) 🧠 Problem-solving (41%) 🧠 AI proficiency (40%) 🧠 Creative strategy & execution (39%) 🧠 Marketing technology (39%) 🧠 Growth mindset (38%) 🧠 Data analytics proficiency (36%) 🧠 Relationship building (33%) 🧠 Emotional intelligence (32%) I got to use these all as a lifecycle marketer! So if you can't choose between creativity & numbers? That’s good. You have the right mix of the most in-demand skills for the next 1-2 years. ;) Do you consider yourself left or right-brained?
I don’t mean to be clickbaity buttt I felt this. So now writers have to write a different way like we used to just so non-writers won’t tell us we ChatGPT’d it. 🤷🏻♀️
