🎉 Monday was a standout day as we partnered with Google NYC’s Wellbeing Committee, to bring a day of wellness to Google's employees, superbly led by Hannah Shatzen and Kathryn Petrini.

It was so inspiring to unite with other female founders for this event, who are dedicated to making a difference in the wellness space, like Diana Seo from Collagen Bar NYC and Lekha Vyas from ELVY Lab. 

Another huge appreciation goes out to our experts from TheTokenSpace, Susana Aguilar Garayoa and Jennifer Lutenski, who made the trip from Mexico and Chicago to share their expertise in person! 🌍

So much gratitude for everyone involved. Love being a part of driving positive change where where workplace well-being is a priority. 🌱


Being a full-time founder is like being on a constant rollercoaster of highs and lows. 🎢 Yesterday was definitely a low...

Feeling frustrated with meetings that didn't go as planned, I reached out to Ashtan Moore for advice.

Last week at a HubSpot For Startups event, Arjun Mahadevan took the stage and captured everyone’s attention—no one even glanced at their phones (rare, right!). How?

1️⃣  Of course, storytelling: Using personal anecdotes and metaphors. For example, he shared that the vision for his product was to make forming a company as easy as "cutting butter with a butter knife." 

Despite the chuckles from the crowd when he admitted it might not be the best analogy, it made the concept stick. This blend of humor and humility was key, which brings us to point 2: 

2️⃣ Vulnerability. Despite having a significant online following, he admitted he feels a bit “cringe” every time he posts something new. It made him feel super relatable! 

3️⃣ Conciseness. He was straightforward, and it's very clear when someone isn't - because you can literally see people hold back their yawns!

My friends and I have often found ourselves criticized for being part of Gen Z—too dependent on technology, too fickle with job loyalty, too this, too that. 

Every remark tries to box us into stereotypes that neither reflect our reality nor recognize our potential.

I remember sitting in a career workshop during my sophomore year of college, listening yet again to someone lamenting how our generation could never match up to the ones before. 

"You need to disconnect and get serious." But here's the twist...

👉 What if our so-called 'flaws' are actually our biggest assets?

📲 Yes, we are on our phones a lot (and there's always room for improvement). But consider what we achieve:

- Innovative Communication 
- Digital Transformation Expertise 
- Expansive networks that span the globe

The characteristics of Gen Z that which are often criticized are precisely what make us valuable in a modern workplace...

We aren't just adapting to the digital world; we were born into it, and we are ready to lead.

💻 but there are some really interesting solutions to bridge the gap:

Virtual Office Platforms:
- Gather/Sococo: Virtual office environment where team members interact using avatars. Mimicking the casual "walk-up" chats that happen in physical spaces.

Project Management and Collaboration Tools:
- Miro and MURAL: Brainstorming with virtual whiteboards for real-time collaboration.

Engagement and Team Building:
- Donut: Slack extension to randomly pair team members for virtual chats.
- Officevibe: Gathers regular feedback through surveys.

✅ Implementing these tools are just the beginning. Successful remote culture is built on continuous adaptation to the needs of the team, ensuring they feel valued regardless of their location.

🌪️ Are we in the eye of Gen AI storm? 

The topic of great presentation led by Dieter Veldsman (Phd) at an excellent event I attended on Tuesday, hosted by Ioanna Mantzouridou Onasi and her company Dextego. 

What I loved most was that Dieter shared news articles and "scary facts" we see today about AI, like how many jobs it will take over, and then challenged us to read in between the lines. 

He proposed questions like: What new jobs will AI create? How many mundane tasks that we currently dread could be automated? 

And intriguingly, how might AI serve as our new "outsourced agent," providing support on projects without the need to hire additional personnel?

AI adoption has surged, outpacing the rise of smartphones. For context - in just two months, ChatGPT gained more users than any single social media platform.

As Dieter would challenge, what does this rapid adoption mean beyond the headlines? How do you see AI shaping or reshaping your industry?

Creating an environment where mental health discussions are not hidden can significantly enhance employee well-being and organizational health.

Top 3 Actionable Steps:

1. Facilitate Open Discussions: Create safe spaces where employees can talk about mental health without fear of judgment. This could be through workshops or discussion forums.

2. Implement Wellness Days: Organize 'Wellness Days' where employees can participate in mini wellness practices throughout the day (we recently did this with Google, and it was incredibly impactful). 

3. Promote Mental Health Champions: Identify and support advocates within your organization who are willing to share their experiences and lead by example.

Last night, I had the privilege of leading a roundtable on "How to Get a Seat at the Table" at the Empower & Elevate: Dextego AI Summit. 
We discussed the importance of having a point of view and backing it up with data and statistics. If statistics aren't your thing, consider finding someone on your team or leveraging AI to make it easier. 
We also talked about the significance of being your own best advocate. As Shirley Chisholm, the first woman of color elected to the US Senate in 1968 once said, “When you don't get a seat at the table, bring your own folding chair!” 
Lastly, we discussed the importance of being strategic in your HR role. It's essential to partner with the business to identify strategic roles, which may not always be the most senior or even the largest population. For instance, at a restaurant chain, it might be tempting to label servers as strategic. However, imagine a restaurant with no manager to make schedules, keep the team motivated, and ensure customers are happy?
