Hey Folks - 

Let's get the word out urgently about a very sophisticated new scam that is specifically targeting marketing agencies. 

The scam starts with an email that purports to be from Teva footwear (a Deckers Brands). The email starts like this...

"Hi Judy Shapiro,
This is Jennifer from Teva, serving as the head of digital marketing. At Teva, we're dedicated to promoting the retail sales of sandals and footwear products in the international market.
I'm available to schedule an online meeting to delve into further details following this email.... 

We're seeking out companies or individuals experienced in paid advertising on platforms like Facebook and Instagram... Our monthly advertising budget for this market stands at $65,000. A successful marketing campaign could potentially lead to a doubling of this budget. Given our focus on forging long-term partnerships, we're interested in engaging in a trial service for a minimum of 8 months, ..."

Sounds totally legit. The email even includes lots of Teva products and one file with "marketing plans."

This marketing plans file turns out be a malicious file. Frankly, I almost fell for it and was trying to open file but I got a warning message that a "PDF" file had code in it. That was the tip off. 

Turns our this is a highly sophisticated scam targets digital agencies. 

Do not fall for it. 

PLEASE PLEASE spread the word as widely as possible so no one accidentally falls victim to this deeply deceptive, social engineering scam. It is clear these scammers had help from a marketing "insider." 

Lets shut this scam down!
