1. Preparation of the fluids, cement and drilling wastes programs in liaison with the drilling engineer.

2. Adaptation of the programs whenever needed and proposition of solutions to overcome technical difficulties or improve operations.

3. Verification of fluids characteristic to be in line with the fluids program and the requirements of drilling operation,

4. Preparation of cement jobs and supervision of their implementation by the relevant service Contractor (laboratory tests and calculations).

5. Implementation of the drilling waste treatment plan; correction or improvement of performances of those plans.

6. Check-up of application of COMPANY rules and /or local regulations regarding the environment 

7. Check-up of the sufficient stock of fluids material, bulk cement and cement additives on board all the time including safety stocks.

8. Verification of all stocks to be in line with quantity specified in the mud program.

9. Visit of the rig site whenever needed and providing assistance to the site engineers to overcome fluids/cement/drilling problems

10. Validation of the fluids, cement and drilling wastes sections of the daily report and follow up of the daily consumption and associated daily cost.

11. Reporting on final fluids, cement and waste treatment, phase and associated costs.

12. Verification of job tickets related to fluids, cement and waste treatment to be in line with the proposed invoices and with the contracts in force. Approval of same when OK.

13. Preparation, evaluation and follow up with Partners and Authorities to a conclusion of tenders and bid requests, both commercial and technical and recommendations on vendor selection for various components of the fluids, cement and waste treatment systems.

14. Participation in the transfer of knowledge between rigs, projects and newly recruited staff.

Drilling Fluids, Cementing & Waste Management Superintendent / DW Fluids Engineer

Completely responsible for the planning, logistics, technical support and supervision of all the fluids related operations (Top Hole Riser less drilling, WBM, Oil Based Mud usage and management, Cement Jobs –Planning and cement recipe calculations, Brines, Solids Control &Waste Management) and personnel related to such operations( Mud Engineers, Cementers, Solids Control and Waste Management personnel, Brine Filtration personnel.
• Took full responsibility of all interfaces between drilling Contractor and Fluids related personnel requirements to achieve the set out fluids operational objectives in the pit room, shakers (fluid pathways) and the Cementing Unit, for prompt actions as may be needed.
• Interfacing, updating and reporting to the Total Fluid Superintendent on all operational and technical matters onboard the rig on a daily basis.
• Ensuring that validated fluid reports are accurately and timely submitted and circulated to other parties that may need such reports.
• Looking ahead and thereby initiating call out for products, as may be required for drilling and completions, in good time ahead of its usage.
• Verifying and giving approval for payment on vendor tickets concerning all fluids operation related costs.
• Responsible for preparing and approving phase reports (sectional operations and cost details) with all relevant information.
• Preside over all fluids related pre-job operational meetings, while ensuring that all HSE issues are brought to the fore and maintained to avoid any incidents or accidents
