My friend works for a Big 4 consulting company. Most days he works 12-16 hours. On big projects he works as many as 20 hours on back-to-back days. Sometimes for a week straight. I only get to see him once a year and we don't live that far from each other. Every month, I beg him to find a new role. Because I see how much this job is ruining his physical health. Not to mention his mental health! Nobody should have to work 16-20 hours in a day for a week. And I truly believe that entrepreneurship will be the revolution that people need to start living better lives. Don't kill yourself trying to make a company rich. You are replaceable at work. You are not replaceable at home.
I fired two clients last month. It was the best decision I've made all year. Just because someone pays you doesn't mean they have the right to disrespect you. Here are 7 reasons why you should fire a client: 1. They constantly disrespect your time ↳ Missed meetings, late payments, and last-minute demands aren't just annoying — they're a sign they don't value you. 2. They don't respect your expertise ↳ Second-guessing every decision, ignoring your advice, and treating you like a task rabbit will drain your energy. 3. They expect unlimited access ↳ If they’re texting, calling, and DMing you outside of agreed hours, they're crossing professional boundaries. 4. They scope creep without paying more ↳ Adding endless "small" requests without discussing additional fees shows they don't respect your work. 5. They treat your team poorly ↳ If they're rude, condescending, or abusive toward your team, they're not just a bad client, they're a liability. 6. They consistently delay or withhold payment ↳ A client who treats your invoices like optional suggestions is not someone you can build with. 7. They make you dread working with them ↳ If every call or email from them stresses you out, it’s a signal your peace (and your business) will be better without them. You don't just build your business by saying yes. You build it by having the courage to say no to the wrong ones.
For years, I thought I could do everything on my own in my business. Turns out I was very wrong. 7 reasons why hiring good people will accelerate your business: 1. You stop being the bottleneck ↳ Projects move faster because you're no longer juggling everything. ↳ You don’t have to wait on your own capacity to scale. 2. They see what you miss ↳ A fresh perspective can catch blind spots and unlock smarter decisions. ↳ They’ll challenge your assumptions—and that’s a good thing. 3. You finally get your time back ↳ So you can focus on vision, sales, and growth—not admin and follow-ups. ↳ Your calendar goes from chaotic to strategic. 4. They build better systems ↳ The right hire will create structure that outlives your hustle. ↳ You start making decisions based on process, not panic. 5. You grow faster with less burnout ↳ Momentum compounds when you're not doing 12 jobs at once. ↳ Energy becomes a competitive advantage again. 6. They hold you accountable ↳ It's easier to let yourself down than to let your team down. ↳ You start showing up sharper because others are depending on you. 7. They care about the mission ↳ And when people believe in what you’re building, they take it further than you ever could alone. ↳ You stop building alone—and start building a movement. The secret to building a great business is finding the right people. Stop trying to do it all on your own.
90% of people are complaining about the LinkedIn algorithm. Impressions are down, engagement is down and everyone is struggling. But when things change drastically, always go back to the fundamentals: 1. Be more human → Most viral content looks, feels and sounds the same → The rise of AI content & comments has changed the feed → You can stand out by being more personal and more authentic 2. Be more specific → Vague advice blends in but real stories from your life get remembered → Talk about exact numbers & moments that shaped your life → People resonate more with your failures and lessons 3. Be more generous → Give people things they can use right now - job boards, AI tools etc → Resources that are helpful get shared more organically → Provide more value more often and people will follow 4. Be more engaging → Respond to every comment you get as soon as you see it → Start dm conversations with people you find interesting → Introduce people in your network to each other 5. Be more intentional → Algo changes should remind you that you don't own your followers → Start building on platforms outside this one and collect emails → Diversify where you get your leads & customers from 6. Be more current → Comment on things that are happening in the world right now → Share your unique point of view on these topics → Use them to push your core narratives 7. Focus on what matters → Likes and impressions are vanity metrics that make you feel good → Refocus your efforts on building relationships and driving leads → Your revenue growth is more important than follower growth We've doubled our business even though my engagement is half of what it was this time last year. The algorithm may have changed. But the fundamentals haven’t. Remember your priorities.
Building a business is 100x harder than you think. But it's even harder when you try to do it alone! So I've decided to build something that will make it easier. On September 6th, I'm organizing my first-ever, in-person conference. It's called Re:Create Summit and it will happen in Toronto, Canada. My goal is to turn this into an annual private gathering of solopreneurs, builders, creators and pretty much anyone whose goal is live life on their terms. From employees building side-hustles to social media creators to 7-figure entrepreneurs and everyone in-between. Where we can pull back the curtains and have real conversations about what it takes to create a new life using entrepreneurship. To re-create means to create again or anew; to build something in a new way, often improved or transformed from its previous state. And if you take away the hyphen you get the word "recreate" which means to play. I want to help people build a life filled with fun and that feels like play. Your dream life isn’t something you stumble into. It’s something you intentionally create. And the best part is that you can re-create your life as many times as you want! I've asked some of my favourite people who I personally know have done this successfully over the last 5 years: Jonathan Javier💡 Mo' Ekujumi Alli Rizacos Brianna Doe Ademola Adelakun, Christian Krause And I have some more secret speakers who I will be announcing over the next few weeks 👀 These are people I have been building beside for the last 5 years, whom I trust deeply and that are part of my community. I've been to countless conferences over the last few years. They always left me feeling insanely inspired. But I also left with some incredible friendships and memories. That's what we're going to do with this summit too. As well as private dinners, live Q&As, in-depth workshops and some insane giveaways. This first conference will be very limited so if you want to attend get your tickets fast. Tickets here: https://lu.ma/recreate2025
Emirates Airlines announced $5.2 billion in profit for the 2024/25 fiscal year. So they decided to bonus out 5 months' worth of salaries to their employees this year! Meanwhile companies in North America are making record profits but laying off their people and replacing humans with AI. In fact, 150,000+ tech employees have been laid off so far this year. 3 times as many as this time last year! Just in case anyone is wondering what real leadership looks like.
It's easy to get overwhelmed by everything on your plate. But that's what causes analysis paralysis. Instead of trying to do everything, just focus on what you can do today. One job application. One LinkedIn post. One outbound message. You don't have to take it all on at once. Start small and stay consistent. __ If you want to learn how to use LinkedIn to attract & close clients, check out this webinar on Sunday at 3pm: https://lnkd.in/grGFETe3
2022: Klarna replaces 700 employees with AI 2023: Klarna lays of 40% of their employees 2025: Klarna announces $136 million loss because people aren't paying back loans (shocking) 2025: Klarna has lost $40 billion in company value and CEO wants to rehire humans. Apparently AI agents failed to meet expectations in delivering effective customer service. Turns out AI can't do everything and replace everyone. Stop putting profits over people.
