You're learning copywriting to: 1. Become a career copywriter. 2. Use the craft to sell your offering. Whatever your reason, I'll be brutally honest with you: There's a massive gap between where you are right now, & the copywriter who gets paid $100k for a sales letter. Copywriting isn't easy. It's a combination of marketing strategy, direct response, and creative writing. It's one of the most profitable crafts on the internet for good reason. However, there's a huge problem in the world right now... ...one that can throw you off the path of learning the craft. In the last 2 decades, copywriting went from: 🔥"I'll convince you to give me your money in as few words as possible" To: 😐"Read my blogs about dog grooming then buy my shampoo" The craft has been disgustingly distilled into a shadow of what it once was. People make the mistake of classifying "content writing" as copywriting. They assume that knowing how to write social media posts and blogs makes them copywriters. Yuk. Ogilvy would turn in his grave. Nothing against you though, you're awesome. But ignorance isn't bliss. Copywriting shouldn't be learned from a content marketing perspective. That's like trying to learn math in English class. 👆Disaster. 👇Here's the answer: Copywriting should be learned from a direct response standpoint. After all, the craft was the birthchild of direct response. So why the hell wouldn't you learn it the right way? Unless you're cool with stagnating the growth of your copywriting, You should be: ⇾ Getting cosy with direct response marketing. ⇾ Internalising the Trivium of Copywriting. ⇾ Becoming a mental case. And, of course. wax on wax off-ing the shit out of it. That's what I'm here to help you with.
