I took the plunge into executive life, where every day was a high-stakes game where I carved my name. It was all about sealing deals, meeting deadlines, and living up to huge expectations.

The Wandering Years

Call it my wild phase, if you will. Seven-plus years where my compass spun freely. Nights out, endless parties, and a soul deep in search mode. 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? Seemed like a foreign concept back then.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘁: those seemingly aimless days were anything but wasted. They taught me the value of time - that the thrill of the moment fades, leaving you craving something...more. I discovered my thirst for purpose, for impact beyond the fleeting buzz of good times.

It was in this whirl of chaos that I found my footing. Learned that balance isn't just a concept but a necessity. These years, with their ups and downs, were my unscheduled prep course for the ventures ahead. They shaped me into the entrepreneur, the leader, I was meant to become.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵 - 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀.

I was that guy - the one who built his own empire from the rubble of tried and failed ventures. Never had the luxury of a safety net; my early days were filled with naysayers and teachers who never got me. “Easily Distracted” on all of my report cards. But I hustled, learned the hard knocks way, and climbed to the VP suite of a  multi-family real estate development company.

Yet, life has a funny way of calling you out. In 2018, a health scare bulldozed my life's blueprint. It was my wake-up call. I hung up my party hat, traded whiskey for protein shakes, and fell head over heels for the quiet power of yoga and meditation.

Call me crazy (and many have), but within a year, I ditched the corporate title race for a yogi's path to freedom. 
I became a seeker – not of riches, but of truth.

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗲𝗲, 𝗺𝘆 𝗘𝗤 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝘇𝘇𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱; it was my compass. It took me to the peak of “success” and then whispered, "There's more." Now, I'm that rebel leader who's going to show you how self-awareness isn't just self-help BS; it's the nuclear core of leadership.

I'm on the edge of launching something big – a learning experience that's real, raw, and will shake the foundations of “Traditional” leadership.

I spent my twenties out more nights than I can count.
Four nights a week. Sometimes five.
Clubs, patios, kitchens at 3am.

Everyone laughing like this was the point of life.

My friends were getting degrees. Promotions. Stability. I told myself I didn’t want that. That I was different.

Truth is, I just didn’t want to feel behind.

I’d wake up hungover, tell myself it’s fine.
You’re young. You’ve got time.
Then the same night would come around and I’d do it all again.

It looked fun from the outside.
Inside, I was running.
Running from that voice that kept saying,
 "You’re wasting it"

By 25, something cracked.
The parties started to feel empty.
I cut back. Two nights instead of four.
Told myself that was progress.

But the real problem wasn’t the drinking.
It was the noise in my head.

The loop of judgment and guilt.

You’re behind. You’re lazy. You’ll never catch up.

I’d push harder, get distracted, then hide again.
Same movie. Different excuse.

It took years to call it for what it was.
Fear. Not failure. 
Not discipline. Just fear.

When I finally saw that, things shifted.
Not instantly. But enough to feel free for the first time.

That’s why I do what I do now.

Because some people are still out there running from the same voice and don’t even know it’s the one keeping them stuck.

I Cut the Loops Leaders Can’t See That Drain Revenue, Time, and Trust.

By 6pm, his mind was shot.

He’d spent the day bouncing between meetings, approvals, and messages, but now he couldn’t decide what to eat for dinner.

"By midday, I can’t make a single clear decision" one director said in a call.

He wasn’t exaggerating. And he is definitely not alone.

A 2023 Oracle study found 𝟴𝟱% 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 "𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀". Regretting, questioning, or feeling guilty about a call they made.

Every choice at work had turned into a debate with himself.

Send the proposal or wait for more data.
Hire now or one more interview.
Say no or soften it for the team.

Each pause "looked" responsible.
Together, they cost him six weeks, two key people, and a drive that won’t come back.

This is what exhaustion hides. Logic on the surface, fear underneath.

Under every over-analysis is a single fear: of being wrong, blamed, or exposed.

Once you name it, you don’t analyze it. 
Awareness opens the door. The cut is the step that walks you through it.

He made the next call that day.
Not perfect. Just forward.

It takes courage to ask for help.

Most people would rather carry the pain than risk looking weak.

Aditya and I first connected on LinkedIn about a year and a half ago. A quick "nice to meet you" and nothing more.

This summer, we reconnected. I’d commented on one of his skits about life in tech. He’s hilarious. The kind of humor that’s real because it comes from truth.

We started talking, trading advice, and eventually jumped on a call. Two guys comparing notes on business, growth, and everything in between.

We said it without saying it: "If you ever need help, I got you"

Last Friday, we hopped on another call. The moment his camera turned on, I could feel it. His eyes said more than his words.

"How are you?" I asked.

He paused.

"Honestly.. pretty sh***y"

He told me how he’d been pushing for months. Trying everything to grow his speaking work. Hitting walls that didn’t move.

What he couldn’t see was that the real wall wasn’t in front of him. It was in his head.

We sat with it. Pulled it apart piece by piece. Not with motivation. Just truth. The speaking work wasn't the problem. It was the story he kept telling himself about what being stuck meant.

He needed to stop knocking on the wrong doors and start building his own.

By the end of the call, his energy had shifted. Something clicked. He saw what was really in the way and more importantly, what to do next.

On Tuesday, Aditya shared his story. You can feel the truth in it.

He asked for help.
And when he did, everything started to move.

That’s why I respect him.

He didn’t flinch from the truth. He faced it.

It starts on Sunday morning..
That uncomfortable feeling. The one you dread.
By dinner on Sunday, it’s in full effect.

You start replaying the mistakes you made at work. The tasks that frustrate you. That co-worker who’s always behind, and somehow makes it your problem.

The doubts.
The pressure.
And it feels like it will never end.

You are on a repeat cycle. 
You go through this every Sunday.

You know the drill, you see the pattern. 
No relief until 4pm, Friday.

It’s a loop. And it can be cut.

The question isn't IF you know the pattern, but WHY you keep returning to it. What's holding you back? From speaking up? From saying "no" when you mean "no"?

Start with honesty. 
You don’t have to say it out loud. 
Just stop hiding it from yourself.

Knowing the pattern doesn’t break it.
Acting on it does.

PS: What's the one thought that weighs on you most on a Sunday night?

He told me mornings were the hardest.

Not because of waking up, but because the second he opened his laptop, his chest got tight.

There were messages waiting, budgets open, reminders from last week telling him to just decide.

He’d sit there and stare.
In his head he’d start asking himself the same things.
What if this goes wrong. What if it costs me.
What if people start thinking I don’t know what I’m doing.

So he’d shift to smaller work.
Something that felt safe.

Answer a few emails, clean up a spreadsheet, check the calendar. Then it was already noon and he felt wiped out without doing much that mattered.

At home, it showed up as distance.
His daughter asked if he was mad at her because he barely spoke.
His wife asked if something had happened at work.
He said no, but he knew it wasn’t the truth.
Nothing had happened.

That was the problem.

He told himself he was being careful.
But underneath, it was fear.
Fear of being wrong. Fear of being blamed.

By the time he finally made a call, the vendor he wanted had already signed with someone else.

When we talked, it was clear he wasn’t stuck on the decision.
He was stuck on what it would mean about him if it went wrong.

We set one real deadline.

He followed through.
And afterward, he said something felt different.
He didn’t overthink the next one.
The pressure started to ease.

That’s what hesitation does.

It spreads quietly until it touches everything, even the people waiting for you at home.

You say you trust your team.
Then at 10 p.m., you check their doc "just in case"

You tell them to lead.
But you still edit the email before it goes out.

You call it standards.
It’s really the noise in your head that won’t let go.

So they wait.
For your approval.
For your yes.
For you.

You don’t lose trust all at once.
You drain it with every time you step back in.

Pick one thing this week and let it go untouched after you delegate it.

See what happens when you finally stop standing in the way.

The lie leaders tell themselves most:
"One more push"

It shows up late at night after a timeline slips again.
You open the plan, tweak the scope, schedule another review.
You tell yourself it’s due diligence. You feel the unease anyway.

This is where careers leak time and trust.
Not in big mistakes. In slow repeats that no one names.

Want a way to tell whether to keep going or cut?
Use three checks.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸.
Say what you value, then look at what you did.
"We value speed" Twenty-three days of extra analysis? Name the gap.

𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲𝗿.
List the last thirty days on one page.
Hours spent revising. Work that did not ship. Vendor slots or candidates that moved on.

𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹-𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁.
Pick one move you can take in two days that would settle the call.
Lock the date. Send the decision draft. Remove an option you keep re-adding.
If you cannot do one, the bind is running you.

This is the work I do with the ones responsible for execution.
Everyone teaches strategy. I cut what clouds it.

Plenty will copy this framework. 
What they miss is the precision in where to cut.
