Ken Kuang is a highly accomplished entrepreneur and experienced executive who established Torrey Hills Technologies, LLC in 2004. He propelled Torrey Hills to become ranked #188 in the INC500 Fast Growing Private Companies in America and ranked #2 in San Diego Business Journal 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies in San Diego. Additionally, he was a finalist for the Most Admired CEO award in San Diego on three separate occasions.

Kuang has been a prominent member of the International Microelectronics And Packaging Society (IMAPS) for a considerable period and was the Vice President of Membership. He is renowned as an expert in RF/MW packaging, having delivered numerous presentations at packaging conferences. He was also the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Best Session Paper in IMAPS 2000, Best Symposium Paper in ICEPT 2003, the IMAPS President Awards in 2008 and 2012, and the Fellow of the Society in 2014.

In 2013, Kuang's company was bestowed with the Tibbetts Award at the White House on May 16, 2013, for its Excellence in Small Business Innovation Research.

Founded in 2004, Torrey Hills Technologies has grown to be a leader in the supply of three roll mills, microelectronics packaging components, such as copper tungsten heat sinks, to major manufacturers. The company ships worldwide to more than 60 countries and regions. They deliver quality but affordable materials and equipment for multiple industries. From manufacturing award-winning three roll mills in San Diego to working simultaneously with it's manufacturing plant which was also started by it's CEO Ken Kuang in Yixing China they're able to source copper tungsten, copper-molybdenum, and other composite materials. Ken has also successfully introduced the HENGLI brand production furnaces to the international market, drying and firing furnaces have been widely used in solar cell processing and electronic assembly industries.

While driving sales and growing the Torrey Hills Technologies product line, Ken has also published a series of books utilizing his past experience and what he's learned through his time since starting Torrey Hills Technologies. His publishments have been on Fuel Cell Electronics Packaging, RF and Microwave Microelectronics Packaging, Advanced Thermal Management Materials, RF and Microwave Microelectronics Packaging II, and lastly Conveyor Belt Furnace Thermal Processing - all published through Springer.

The Fellow of the Society Award honors and recognizes those who, in the opinion of the Fellow of the Society Award Selection Committee, have made significant and continuing contributions to IMAPS over the years at any level – local or national. A nominee must have been an IMAPS member for ten (10) consecutive years. Examples of the nomination criteria usually considered for this award are: (1) service as an officer of a local chapter or in a national office; (2) service as a member of a local, regional, or national committee or task force; and/or (3) presentation of papers or conducting of short courses at local, regional, or national symposia. Recipients of this award automatically become Life Members of the Society.

Torrey Hills Technologies, LLC (THT) and Hengli Eletek, Co. Ltd   were jointly honored as Gold Prize winner for the 6th annual 2014 Golden Bridge Awards under the New Products and Services from all over the world category for their innovative model AST1003-0304N drying furnace. Golden Bridge Awards are an annual industry and peers recognition program honoring Best Companies of all types and sizes from all over the world.

The Tibbetts Awards, given by SBA, honor outstanding small businesses and individuals who participate in the SBA’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. The presentations were made at the White House by Administrator Mills, Senator Mary Landrieu, Chair of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee and Rebecca Bagley, CEO and President of NorTech.

I co-founded Jiangsu Dingqi Sci & Tech in 2007 with a good friend. We became a leader in manufacturing of microelectronics packaging materials (copper tungsten CuW, copper molybdenum CuMo and more). Our CuW and CuMo heat sinks were used by all major electronics companies worldwide. As of July 2023, the factory was acquired by Wuxi MTC Microelectronic Materials CO.,LTD.
