I head up revenue for Upgraded, a profitability operations consultancy for Canadian SME tech companies. We help unlock hundreds of thousands of dollars in working capital for each client through four pillars:

1. Government Programs/Financing (the average mid-sized company leaves $86k/employee on the table)
2. AI Solutions/Automations (47% of white collar work is automatable)
3. Tech Savings/Rewards (we can help our average company save 20 to 50% on their tech spend)
4. Financing (~50% of founders regret their VC financing)

We are completely performance based. So:
1. If we don't think we can help unlock more than $100k, we don't take on a client. It's not worth our time.
2. We only make money if you do. 
3. Our interests are closely aligned because of this.

Created a prototype of a marketplace enabling organizations to transact anonymized, corporate IoT data from smart cities projects. 
Heavy focus on data risk management, tech strategy and infrastructure, and data compliance. 
Earned top grades on project from panel of Citi Ventures employees and other fintech professionals and executives.

MBA Innovation Consultant

Oracle

Created and validated enterprise blockchain use cases for Oracle in the telecom industry.
Final product was hyperledger blockchain-enabled C2C and B2C marketplace allowing for mobile data trading, exchange, and payments.  

In an innovation case competition judged by a panel of industry experts and senior Oracle management, my team was awarded first place in the telco sector, and second place overall.

We were invited to author a White Paper on our use case for Oracle.

Analyzed, reported on, and consulted on entry and exit of real estate markets and properties, including analysis of: tenancy, rental, and leasing statistics; interest and mortgage rates; market pricing trends; and socio-political, zoning, taxation, and regulatory factors in the acquisition and sale of real estate (roughly 70% commercial; 20% land; 10% residential).
Responsible for sales enablement efforts in organization: liaised with brokers to set sale prices; provided value prop and market-related collateral to support property sales.
Led organizational change initiative aimed at reducing errors leading to suboptimal investments, and instituted new investment framework within organization.

I have over six years of experience in SaaS revenue generation, with a track record of exceeding quotas, driving growth, and leading high-performing teams. I have an MBA from IE Business School and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. I am passionate about helping tech entrepreneurs scale their businesses, avoid layoffs, and achieve their goals. I am also a cancer survivor, a girldad, and a lifelong learner.

We need to be doing everything we can to turn Canada into the best place for entrepreneurs to build. Period. What's proposed in the Canadian federal budget will do the complete opposite. 

Innovators and entrepreneurs will suffer and their success will be penalized -- this is not a wealth tax, it's a tax on innovation and risk-taking.

Our policy failures are America's gains. At a time when our country is facing critically low productivity and business investment our political leaders are failing our country's entrepreneurs.

Something I wrote in my instagram stories seems to have struck a nerve and captured the feelings of many in the Jewish community. So I guess I’ll post it - slightly edited - here. And be kind to one another please.

It won’t be ghettos or camps here. 

It will be our banishment from public life. It will be ochlocracy in the streets and online and cancellation of our voices. 

It will be - and already is - the silencing of our artists. The denial of our experiences. The erasure of our history and contributions. The intimidation of our students. The censoring of our identities. The celebration of our pain. The condemnation of our beliefs and values.

It will be - and already is - the bullying and harassment of our allies.

It’s already happening. Here. 

The thing you need to know is that this is a warning bell for a society. Where antisemitism is permitted to thrive, democracy dies. Extremism grows. Freedom disappears.

You can still stop it. We can still stop it together. But it can’t just be the Jewish community alone. You have to be brave and stand up. Time is running out.

We still have the highest debt-to-income ratio in the G7 by a country mile (180%).

Our housing pricing is through the roof and goes in stops and starts, but shows no clear signs of abatement.

Interest rates won't be dropping to sub-5% prime rate for quite some time still.

It's anecdotal, but I speak with execs from at least a few companies every week in Canada. Roughly a small majority would be technically considered "over-leveraged" currently.

To me, this optimism about debt is a sign of wishful thinking. When folks are optimistic about debt, they spend more, of course. 

Reminds me of a very ominous weather event that still gives me goosebumps to recall. I grew up in Northern Alberta. Every summer as a kid, I was playing baseball and/or golf most days. And we'd get afternoons with low clouds that looked like they were glowing. Everything would be VERY still. And it would go one of 4 ways: 

1. Torrential downpour
2. Severe lightning storm
3. Funnel clouds (how tornadoes start)
4. Sometimes all 3

When we saw clouds like that, we got the hell off the diamond/course as quickly as we possibly could.

Instead, it feels like Canadians are walking up to the tee box with their drivers. 😬
