Day 8 – Coderfarm Do or Die Challenge

Today was a turning point.

 I decided to change the strategy.

The last few days felt stuck — too slow, too dependent.

 Me and Kartik are working closely, but that also means when one of us is blocked, both get delayed.

 And I’m building a startup — this has to move fast. Ship fast. Fail fast. Learn fast.
So I sat down and rethought everything.

 Two options came up:

1. Start planning developer onboarding and vetting
2. Focus on marketing + sales

I chose marketing.

 Because if no one knows you exist, it doesn’t matter what you’re building.

Now I’ve broken it into 5 channels:

- Ads – Going to follow a trust-based, omni-presence strategy (more on this soon)

- Outreach – On pause till Abhilasha returns

- Social Content – Already doing daily videos + posts like this

- Newsletter – Wrote 2 pieces this week (please check out “Hiring is Broken” on LinkedIn and subscribe!)

- Virtual Events – This is new for me. But exciting.




Brainstormed a few event ideas:

 – Founder × Developer Talks
 – Live Job Post + Resume Review by HR
 – Startups pitching themselves to talent
 – Expert sessions on spotting red flags when choosing a startup

a casual networking round after every event

 So now the focus is clear: Get people to care. Show up everywhere. Make noise.
But I want to share something else too.

 Since Abhilasha’s been away, I’ve been working alone in the office. And honestly… it’s been hard.

There’s no traction yet. No customers. No buzz.

 And the silence gets loud.

 It’s been difficult to trust the process and keep going.

But writing these posts… recording myself… sharing this raw journey with you — it helps.

 Even a few replies or DMs feel like someone’s listening.

 And that means everything.

Because if I die tomorrow… at least a few people would know what I tried to build.
 How I thought.
 How I felt.

Day 6 – Coderfarm Do or Die Challenge

Today was rough.
Like… really rough.
I didn’t shoot the video. I couldn’t.
I was so disappointed with myself that I just… froze.
Scrolled Instagram reels for hours. That made it worse. The more I scrolled, the more upset I felt.

Kartik (our designer) is sick — so no new UI screens.
I thought, “Okay, let me try designing directly in WeWeb.”
I barely managed to do one page. The next screen blocked me completely.
That’s all I did today — some routing logic.
That’s it.
Whole day, gone.

And honestly, I feel ashamed even writing this.
Like… what am I doing?
We have 90 days. This is urgent.
People are following this journey — giving their time to read these updates — and all I have to say today is:
“I got nothing done.”

I know building a basic MVP with WeWeb + Xano should take 2-3 days.
And I’m stuck.

The only highlight?
WeWeb noticed my post yesterday. I didn’t even tag them — just mentioned them, and they reacted. Later, I tagged them and even reached out to their founder Raphael Goldsztejn.

Would love to get someone from their team on a podcast or chat.
I know I have the energy. I’m hungry to work hard — 10 hours a day if I can.
But today I was blocked. Mentally. Emotionally. Creatively.

I know it might sound like I’m making excuses.
But this is part of the journey too. The messy, quiet, frustrating parts.
Tomorrow is Day 7.
I’ll show up again.

Day 9 – Coderfarm Do or Die Challenge

Most beginners copy winning ads. But here’s why I choose to innovate instead.

Yesterday, I launched a small Meta ad campaign to promote our upcoming virtual event.

 I didn’t put in much budget — just enough to test if the creatives are working.
The result?
 1 lead.
 But… not a qualified one.

So either my creative isn’t hitting right — or Meta’s algorithm hasn’t picked it up correctly yet.
 Could be both.🤷

Today, I decided to dig deeper.

 Went to the Meta Ad Library — but not immediately.

 Because whenever it comes to design or creative work, I always try something on my own first — before checking what others are doing.
It helps me generate original ideas.

 Once I’ve explored my own thoughts, then I look around to see what’s working for others.

I know most beginners are told to copy exactly what works the first time, then build their own style later.
 I get that — and it’s valid.
 But for me, this approach keeps things fresh.

When I finally explored the ad library, I noticed something interesting —
 Many people mention the date & time directly on the ad image.

 It’s simple… but effective.

So I tried it.
 Made two new creatives — same concept, but with different dates:
 📅 One for Saturday
 📅 One for Sunday
 Let’s see which day performs better.

Next step?

 Planning some video ads — something more engaging. I’ll get into that tomorrow.
Bit by bit, testing and learning.
 That’s Day 9.

Don't build culture first. Do this first instead.

Day 7 – Coderfarm Do or Die Challenge
Not every day is action-packed.
 Today was one of those quiet-but-moving days.

📌 I finally got the designs for the “Create Job Post” flow on our platform.
 That’s the next big thing I’ll be working on — starting tomorrow.

 Honestly, I’m excited (and a little relieved) to finally have something to build.
Since I didn’t have much else to do today, I focused on writing.

 ✍️ Wrote two pieces for our newsletter:
 One on why hiring is broken — from all the pain we’ve felt as both founders and candidates.

 And another — a bit special — about our recent meeting with Sarvate ji’s grandson.
  (If you're from Indore, you probably know the name from the bus stand — he was a freedom fighter.)
  We met his grandson — who's 60+ himself — and had a meaningful conversation that somehow connects back to our journey too.

🎥 I’m planning to shoot a video for the newsletter story soon.
 Nothing fancy — just continuing to document and stay visible.

Tomorrow’s focus?
Most likely marketing planning. We’re at a point where we need to start showing up smartly.
