I'm John – and I’m here to challenge everything you think you know about success. Success isn't a title, a paycheck, or an expectation to be met. It’s something only you can define. Too many of us live lives that lack passion, going through the motions of a career that leaves us feeling unfulfilled, trapped in routines that don’t ignite our true potential. I’ve been there – and I’m here to tell you, it doesn’t have to be this way. My journey began at 15 when I became a father. Overnight, I was thrown into a role I wasn't prepared for, one that demanded resilience and strength I didn’t yet know I had. I learned leadership the hard way – not in boardrooms, but in real life, where providing stability and leading by example was a matter of survival. And that experience shaped me – it forced me to grow up fast, to dig deep, and to understand what it means to truly lead with heart and purpose. Later, the military sharpened my skills, teaching me discipline, teamwork, and the art of strategic thinking. But it also showed me something greater – that my calling wasn’t just about achieving personal success, but about empowering others to do the same. Whether it was guiding soldiers through complex missions or mentoring them through their struggles, I realized my passion was helping people discover the strength they never knew they had. Three times in my career, I hit a wall. The path I was on no longer aligned with my sense of purpose, and I faced the critical choice of staying safe or taking a leap of faith into the unknown. Every time, I chose the leap. Those moments of uncertainty taught me the most valuable lesson of all: success isn’t a destination, it’s a journey, and sometimes that journey demands that we redefine everything we thought we knew. Now, with my company LEAD-N-LIFE, I dedicate myself to helping others break free from the confines of someone else’s definition of success. Your life is your own, and my mission is to provoke you to think differently, act boldly, and craft a vision that’s uniquely yours. Through LEAD-N-LIFE's leadership development programs, we push professionals like you to challenge themselves, step out of comfort zones, and embrace their full potential. These aren't just additional courses or program's – it’s a transformation. We're here to guide you in breaking free from the monotony and stepping into a life filled with purpose, passion, and success – on your terms. It’s time to stop living a life that doesn’t inspire you. #DefineYourSuccess #LeadWithPurpose #CareerTransformation #CareerTransition

If you feel completely lost about your future, you’re not broken. You’re human. ⬇️ When I decided to leave the United States Army after 10 years of service, I was excited yet overwhelmed with fear of making a bad decision. ⬇️ I decided to leave my first professional job after the military, 3 years in and I was nervous of starting over at a new company to make that Manager role. ⬇️ Then I started in an industry I knew nothing about - I was overwhelmed with things I needed to learn and felt at times I wasn't smart enough. ⬇️ Fast forward 1 year and I landed that Corporate Leadership Position making 6-figures, I thought I had made it to my dream job - I was there 1 1/2 years before I quit. ⬇️ I know now that all that nervousness, overwhelm, fear and learning was guiding me to where I am now. Here is something important I learned throughout this: “Dreams don’t die when plans fall apart—they begin when you start over with clarity.” ⬇️ If you're currently feeling like this in your job, try this: 1️⃣ Accept that things aren't working the way you thought (they rarely do). 2️⃣ Now, put your focus and energy and reflect on what lights you up. (Even if it's not crystal clear yet) Write down random ideas on 1 piece of paper. 3️⃣ Choose one entry as an aligned experiment and commit to the next 30 days to doing it. Here is an example: (Trying photography because you enjoy it. For the next 30 days, go on YouTube and learn photography methods with your phone and go out and experiment.) 4️⃣ After 30 days, assess how you are feeling, do you think you should continue to experiment with this idea? What's the next step? Share your project in the comments, and I can help keep you accountable to it. #careeralignment #careerexperimentation #alignment

The moment I knew something had to change—or I’d lose myself… 👇 For 7 years, I was grinding. Focused. Disciplined. Chasing a goal I thought would define me. But in reality? I was outgrowing the life I had built. ⬇️ In 2015, I made my second major pivot. I left the U.S. Army. Not because I wasn’t proud of what I’d done— But because I was being deployed for a fourth time, and I couldn’t ignore the pull anymore. I needed something different. I needed to be present for my son. I needed space to grow outside of the uniform. ⬇️ In 2021, I made another leap. I left a job I was good at. A role that was stable, familiar, and “made sense.” But something inside me knew—I wasn’t done growing. And staying meant possibly becoming stagnant. ⬇️ In 2024, I walked away from the industry I had been in for over 18 years. That was the hardest one. Because when something has shaped your identity for that long, letting go feels like breaking up with a version of yourself you worked hard to become. But what I didn’t realize was… ➡️ I had already started transforming back in 2015. Each step, each pivot, each hard decision was slowly pulling me closer to who I was really meant to be. Not even the money could make me stay anymore. Because it wasn’t that those jobs or workplaces were “bad.” ⭐ They just weren’t right for me.⭐ The truth is—your definition of success will evolve when you evolve. And when you start to grow beyond the box you’ve been living in... You can’t unsee it. You can’t unknow it. You can’t go back. Next month will mark one year since I left. It hasn’t been easy. But every challenge has confirmed I was on the right path. ❣️ And this moment—this season of deep, personal realignment—is what inspired something I’ve been quietly building behind the scenes. More on that soon. But if you’re in that “moment” right now—the one where you feel everything shifting beneath your feet— You’re not broken. You’re not behind. You’re becoming. 👇 Have you ever been in a moment like this, where you just knew something had to change? #careeralignment #findingpurpose #careershifts

Would you choose a career that keeps you financially secure but emotionally flatlined? … or one that fills you up but leaves your bank account gasping for air? Unfortunately, many are left with this decision, and usually, people go for the security of a good paycheck. It makes sense, I've been there myself. Having money is great - not worrying about bills, and you can use that money to do things you've always wanted to or buy things you've always wanted. ➡️ Allow me to paint you a picture... You continue to do this, tell yourself, " It's all part of work, nobody really likes their job, right, as long as I am making money, right? " Then you find yourself 5 years 7 years 10 years 15 years 20 years down the road, willing to give it all up, all the money, to be doing something fulfilling. It may seem far-fetched, but many professionals these days are burned out, overwhelmed, and at a stage where they want to leave, but they're fearful. They have become accustomed to this lifestyle. ➡️ Allow me to paint you a different picture: You choose to follow your heart and align your career ambitions with who you are and how you're changing over the years. You find that you are making decent money, maybe even more than you thought and you are not overwhelmed because you enjoy what you're doing. You realize that you're okay without buying that $60,000 car or that $500,000 house because you realize that you really never needed those "extra things" you thought you did to fulfill you. ➡️ Here is a truth nobody tells you: "Success is what YOU define it to be" Nobody else can tell you that you failed if you are following what YOU truly want to do. The answer isn’t in choosing one extreme (money or purpose). It’s in designing a life that blends meaning and stability with intention. The key is, identifying what YOU want out of your life and career. If you’ve ever been stuck between doing what’s safe and doing what’s meaningful, you’re not alone. The first thing you MUST do is reflect. Ask yourself this 1 question right now: Have my life and career decisions been dictated by fear? Drop a "🤔" if you’re still figuring it out. P.S. “I’ve been working on a tool to help people map their values, goals, and lifestyle desires into a career strategy they can actually live with. More to come soon. #careeralignment #career #purposefulintentions

You can have the title, the salary, the success—and still feel completely out of place. Here’s what that might look like, and one step you can take to move forward: 🔹 You look successful on paper, but inside, you're struggling. Step: Start journaling how your work makes you feel each day—patterns will reveal what’s truly misaligned. 🔹 You’ve checked all the boxes, but still feel empty. Step: Redefine your version of success. Ask: “What would fulfillment look like if no one else had a say?” 🔹 You’re afraid to start over because you’ve built so much already. Step: Create a “transferable skills” list. You’re not starting from scratch—you’re starting from experience. 🔹 You feel guilty for wanting more. Step: Replace guilt with permission. Write down three things you want from your career and say them out loud. 🔹 You tell yourself to push through, but burnout keeps coming back. Step: Audit your energy, not just your schedule. What tasks drain you? What energizes you? 🔹 You wonder if this is just what adulthood feels like. Step: Ask people who made bold pivots how it felt on the other side. Borrow belief until you have your own. You’re not broken. You’re just misaligned. And the first step isn’t quitting everything—it’s getting honest. Which one of these hit home? 👇 Let's talk. #careeralignment #lifealignment #highachievers

You have the title. The salary. The career others admire. And yet… You still feel lost. This isn’t burnout—it’s misalignment. The difference? Burnout is exhaustion. Misalignment is emptiness. I speak to professionals who hit their 30s or 40s and realize the life they’ve been building no longer fits who they are. “Career success doesn’t mean life alignment. You can win on paper and still feel like you're losing yourself.” This doesn't mean you have to quit your job. At least not yet... It means that you must do some work to realign yourself and figure out what area of your life is unfulfilling to you at this point. We can, at times, get so caught up in our career aspirations that we lose sight of how we are changing throughout the years. I did it. I worked hard for 7 years to reach my goal. Leadership Position. Fortune 100 Company. 6-Figure Income. And... I quit that job within 1 1/2 years. What I thought was burnout at this job was misalignment. I didn't have to work harder; working harder didn't change anything. I had to do different work - my inner self was screaming for it. I had to reflect and do the inner work needed. I am happier now for doing it. “Have you ever felt this way—even with a ‘good’ job?.” P.S. I’ve been working on something that helps people at this exact stage…Follow Me to Stay Informed.

The only guarantee in life, is death! Not trying to be dark, I’m actually a very positive person 😊 Yesterday, I reported a 4.1% unemployment rate. (Check out yeaterdays post) In March, the United States added, 228,000 jobs! That’s great news right? 👈 Yet, the unemployment rate has increased to 4.2% in March. With a weakened economy, tariff battles and inflationary pressures, it looks like the next year will be turbulent! Worse if you’re one of the affected to be laid off. But, this is the truth! 👇 If you’re waiting for the right circumstances to make a move in your career & explore new options! 👉 You will be waiting forever. There will always be something keeping you in FEAR of: ✔️Finding a better job ✔️Starting that business ✔️Asking for that promotion or raise ✔️Living the life YOU want. I personally know of someone who was let go from her job after 18 years of service, and there are plenty more stories like this. Commit this year, to be the year, YOU start making moves! #careertips #jobsecurity #careerandlife P.S. Follow for exciting tips and strategies coming soon to help you stop working a job you hate and start living your purpose!

What do you work for? Here are some explanations I have come across this past week of people who dislike their job and what they are currently going through. “I'm just tired of IT at this point but I don't know how to make a career change” “I want to find a field where I can have some mental stimulation and not be exhausted, I do photography as a personal hobby. I am not sure where I can pivot.” “My biggest fear is getting into something that will burn me out again” Is fear leading your career decisions? #careeralignment #professiontopurpose

It’s Sunday. You’re sipping your coffee… but quietly dreading Monday. Maybe it’s just another week. Or maybe it’s a sign. A sign that you’ve outgrown the path you’re on. That you’ve been surviving your work, not growing through it. That your job is predictable, but not purposeful. The first step to realignment is telling yourself the truth. 👇 Vote below and share in the comments: What would you do differently if you had a clean slate? #careeralignment #careerclarity #careerpivots

2

You’re not burned out because you’re overworked. You’re burned out because you’re over it. What once used to excite me, started causing me #frustration. Why? I wasn’t realizing and capturing the milestones of my #personaldevelopment, how I had changed. Once I figured this out. It was like a light bulb went on and I knew exactly what I wanted, but more importantly, what I didn’t want anymore in my #career. 👇 You’re not crazy for turning down that #highpayingjob because it doesn’t align with your values. You’re evolving—and your career should too.” If you are not sure how to start, ask yourself: 1️⃣ What kind of learning used to excite me vs. what excited me now that used to drain me? 2️⃣ What does “meaningful work” look like for me now? 3️⃣ What would I choose to do if I didn’t have to worry about income? “If you’ve been in your industry for over a decade and feel like it’s no longer ‘you,’ it may be time to #realign—not restart.” #careeralignment #purpose

Let’s play a little game... Sometimes the best way to deal with career confusion is to laugh 👇 Let's laugh at how painfully real it is... ✅ Feeling personally attacked by every job description, like they know your weaknesses ✅ Applying to jobs while questioning your entire existence ("Am I even hireable or just a LinkedIn lurker?") ✅ Googling “What career should I have?” like it’s a Buzzfeed quiz that will save your life ✅ Refreshing job boards as if your dream career is going to magically appear at 2am ✅ Fantasizing about quitting via a dramatic email... but settling for passive-aggressive Teams messages ✅ Smiling in Zoom calls while spiritually disassociating ✅ Realizing your degree cost more than your car... and neither are taking you anywhere ✅ Explaining your career path in interviews and even you don’t buy it ✅ Signing up for 12 online courses, finishing none, and convincing yourself "it's still progress" ✅ Seriously considering becoming a forest ranger, alpaca farmer, or ghostwriter for influencers If you checked off 3 or more... congratulations, you’ve got Career Misalignment Bingo 💥 The good news? You’re not broken. You’re just overdue for clarity. Don't get to the point where you don't care anymore, (like the guy in the video 🤣) 👉 I’m building something that will help you go from: “What am I even doing?” to “I know exactly where I’m headed.” More soon... But for now... how many squares did you check? Be honest. 😅👇

You’re not tired because the work is hard. You’re tired because the work no longer fits.🤔 Many have gone through this exact day - I know I have as well. ⬇️⬇️⬇️ - 5:00 am, the alarm clock goes off. - You muster up the energy to get up and roll out of bed. - Begin your morning preparation, perhaps get a workout in and a good breakfast. - Grab your things, get in your car - begin the drive to work. - Then during your drive, your mind starts to wander, your thoughts begin taking form: ⬇️ "Ugh, what fiascoes will I have to handle today?" ⬇️ "I should just quit, I am not going anywhere in this job" ⬇️ "Will they ever give me the promotion"? ⬇️ "I wish I were doing something more meaningful with my life." ⬇️ "Maybe I should go back to school, ugh, it's too late for that" ⬇️ "I don't want to start over" ⬇️ Maybe I am just burnt out...I need to take a vacation. The truth is: Burnout often disguises itself as fatigue, but it is actually misalignment. It is not that you need rest - you need to align your career with who you are NOW. The reason you initially took that job may not be valid anymore, and your soul is urging you to get back on track. This doesn't mean you need to start over. You don't need to go back to school (at least not yet) You're not starting from scratch this time; now, you have transferable skills. 👉 “A new career doesn’t always require a new degree—it requires new clarity.” I’m working on something designed to help professionals like this build a pivot plan with confidence, not confusion. Follow me for more details...coming soon.” Count the skills you've developed so far in your career. How many do you think are transferable? Drop the number in the comments.👇 #careeralignment #careerpivot #transferableskills

Discomfort = Growth The goal isn't an easy life, it's 👇 ➡️ Living a life that challenges you to meet your true self... I used to believe career fulfillment meant: Stability Predictability and climbing the corporate ladder. ➡️ It felt great for awhile. Promotions Achievements Raises Titles Stability But deep down, I felt stuck: ➡️ Unchallenged & Unfulfilled The hardest part? Admitting that my “secure” job, the job I had fought to get for 7 years, was actually holding me back at this point from living the life and purpose I foresaw. Leaving corporate life to build my own business was terrifying. ➡️ I had to push past: The fear of uncertainty (What if I fail?) (How will this work?) The fear of judgment (What will people think?) (What will my family think?) The fear of not being "ready" (Do I have what it takes?) ( I don't even know how to start.) But here’s what I learned: Discomfort is the price of growth. ➡️ Every time I stepped outside my comfort zone: I gained new skills Built confidence and moved closer to my vision. Today, I wake up excited because I know that, on the other hand, in uncomfortable situations, there is work that aligns with my purpose. Are you facing or running from discomfort? Ask yourself - within the past 3 months, how many times have you avoided discomfort that would have led to your professional or personal growth? 2 times 3 times 10+ times Drop your # below. ⬇️ #careerprogression #facingdiscomfort #careerandlifetips

I'm building something—can I get your input? 🛠️ I’m creating a resource for professionals who want more: ⭐ Alignment ⭐ Clarity ⭐ Purpose in their careers. But before I finalize anything, I want to hear from you. 👇 If you could fix ONE thing about your career right now, what would it be? Is it clarity? Confidence? Direction? Better work-life balance? More meaning? Drop it in the comments—or DM me if you’d rather share privately. Your feedback will help shape something that could help a lot of people who are: 😤Feeling Stuck 😔Feeling Lost 😀Or Ready for More. Let’s build this together. 🙌 #careeralignment #careertools #cocreate

Gratitude is powerful—but it’s not a substitute for growth. “Just be grateful” is keeping you stuck. Yes, be thankful for what you have. But don’t let that gratitude become the excuse for staying in: Places Roles or patterns that no longer serve you. ➡️ Because if you don’t define success for yourself, someone else will. It is up to you to decide what a fulfilling life and career looks like. It is up to you to: Check in Pivot and realign when what used to fit... doesn’t anymore. Feeling stuck isn’t ingratitude. It’s information. And clarity starts the moment you give yourself permission to want more. ➡️ Have you ever felt guilty for wanting more out of your career? Let’s talk about it below. #careeralignment #fulfillment #careerandlifepurpose

You graduated from college, landed your first job… and then realized it’s nothing like you imagined. I have met psychology majors working in warehouses. I have met soldiers with philosophy degrees. I have met science majors working in finance industries I have a Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management and now have pivoted to consulting. Most of the people I have spoken to pivot due to lack of options, low-paying jobs, and frankly, being backed into a corner. They stay because they are "stuck". Not sure how to get back to doing what they love to do. What they were once passionate about - instead, they focus on climbing the corporate ladder, thinking more money will solve their problems. The truth is - you're not lazy - you don't lack ambition or need more money. You need #careeralignment. 👉 “It’s not that you chose the wrong degree—somewhere along the way, you lost clarity. I get it, we all have to do what we have to do from time to time. Although it is vital to your fulfillment that you take the time to reflect now. Reflect on why you're currently unhappy. Reflect on what would make you happy again. Reflect on how you can dig your way out. Reflect on what you're willing to sacrifice for your dream life. Reflect, Reflect & Reflect... But...that's just the beginning - you need an action plan. You've been working all these years, and now you have transferable skills and experience; all that is missing is some clarity. This is your sign (opportunity) that help is on the way. I am close to finishing a life-changing program specifically for professionals who are tired of working jobs that don't fulfill them and helping them find clarity once again. Follow along for the launch date - it will be coming fairly quickly. 😀 Are you currently working a job outside your degree? 👇 #careeralignment #professiontopurpose #reflection 📢 P.S. Spots will be limited. if you would like to get ahead of the pack and start learning about the program now, simply DM me "Program"!

You can be good at your job, do it for 10 years and still feel like it was never meant for you. ⬇️ You may have entered into your career or industry out of neccessity. When I speak to professionals who are tired of their job and want out, I ask them, what made you go into this career field? Here are some of their answers: "Neccessity - I had to pay bills" "I was escaping a toxic situation" "I needed something more stable" "The money was good" Most of us have experienced something along these lines - for majority of us entering the workfoce, we usually don't understand how to navigate a career yet, we just need money. There is nothing wrong with that - we must survive. Here is where we start to become misalinged It begins when we choose comfort over discomfort in our careers. Where the thought of starting over, keeps you in that soul sucking job for 10+years. You find yourself later trying to piece together who you once were and what you once loved doing. The thing is - we never really loose ourselves , we just have to bring that person back to surface. This can be accomplished because here is the truth: You’re not broken—you’ve just never been taught how to build a career around your values, not your résumé. Continuing to follow the way you have been doing it will keep you stressed and filled with self-doubt. Believe me, I was once there. I knew I had to make a change - the thoughts spinning in my head day in and day out of me doing something different were becoming louder and louder. But years of familiarity kept me from making moves before - not this time. I had to learn that this constant feeling of survival wasn't me having the wrong mindset—I was on the wrong path. I’ve been building something that helps professionals realign their career direction—with clarity, not chaos.” Follow for more on this project - you won't want to miss out. #careeralignment #careerpivot #realignyourcareer

Days that you don’t feel like it! Are the days you absolutely should! I was tired this morning! Had met at clients business yesterday and did some work for him. Did yard work. Went to train my daughter for soccer And worked on my designer for my new upcoming product! It was a long day - and this morning, I didn’t want to go to the gym! But, that is exactly why you should. Those moments where you overcome adversity and procrastination are what will build your confidence, resiliency and mindset! It’s humpday! Keep building, take a deep breathe if today you just do t feel like it and keep pushing forward! #resiliency #humpday

A little me time today! Apart of growth is learning when you need to quiet your mind… And allow the body and soul to thrive! Needed a little chill time today away from building to appreciate the little things, like hitting a small bucket of golf balls + getting exercise! P.S. Don’t judge the swing! 😂 Still learning!

Feeling lost in your career? These 3 questions helped me navigate my career. 👇 —and they're still my go-to. Transitions are never easy. After leaving the military, I felt directionless. I wasn’t just switching jobs—I was trying to find my new identity. When I didn’t know what step to take next, I came back to these 3 questions: 1️⃣ What’s no longer enjoyable in my life/career? 2️⃣ How can I use the skills I already have for my next move, and what other skills do I need to add to my skills? 3️⃣ Are you in a comfort zone, or are you currently pushing yourself? These helped me realign with clarity every time I had to make a BIG shift in my career/life. , with little chaos. 1️⃣ Helped me evaluate what I was living for and how I was enjoying my current purpose. It allowed me to reflect a bit and make an informed decision proactively rather than waiting until I had to make reactive decisions. 2️⃣Answering this question allowed me to think of the progress and skills I had developed over time - and provide me with perspective on what skills I may still need to develop or attain to move onto my next step. 3️⃣ Answering this question helped me look within and reflect on how I have been challenging my growth and learning. At times I realized perhaps I was still growing and still had growth in my position but other's I realized that I was not pushing myself and analyzed what was holding me back. What question do YOU ask yourself when you're feeling stuck? Let’s share ideas below. #CareerClarity #ProfessionalDevelopment #SelfReflection
