Study the top person in your niche—examine their topics, post structure, and hooks. Replicate their approach; you'll see traction faster. Don't fear copying; over time, your unique voice emerges.

2. Follow the data. 

Audience growth is simple math. Post for 4 weeks, tracking the 20% of content generating 80% of engagement, conversions, and follower growth. Double down.

3. Reply to every comment; it's key for an engaged community. 

Daily, answer thoughtful comments on your posts, fostering brand loyalty and reciprocity.

4. Positioning is crucial. 

Define your brand to ideal customers and differentiate from competitors. Credibility, expertise, personal experiences, or unique problem-solving set you apart.

5. Getting followers is easier when you have some.

*TOFU: Top Of Funnel = Awareness 
MOFU: Middle of Funnel = Consideration 
BOFU: Bottom of Funnel = Conversion

PRO TIP’s for content that converts:

→ Address your buyer directly using “You” 
→ Call out to your ICP in Hooks - e.g “Founders:” 
→ Add a crystal clear CTV (Plug your offer once a week) 
→ Every piece content: “ICP Pain” + “Inject Solution” = Inbounds 
→ Use the same verbiage your clients se to discuss their problems

This method isn’t hard.

But having the humility to acknowledge you or your team has lost focus on the fundamentals is.

Remember:

These 5 mental models I've learned were worth every penny:

For context: the sales training was with 7 figure ex enterprise sellers, a top 5 Microsoft seller who sold $250,000,000 in revenue, and an entrepreneur who had a 9 figure exit.

Let's dive in:

Model 1: You don’t close a prospect. They close themselves.

Most people in sales go for shady scripts. Demand the sale. And get surprised when prospects ghost.

Buyers will only move forwards for THEIR reasons, not yours.

Wrong = “Can you sign the contract by Friday?”

Right = Whether you decide to work with me or not, I think the important thing here is that you get {desired result}. Do you think that's the important thing here?

*hold the silence*

Them: “yes”

You: "Ok, can I bounce a few thoughts off you?"

Them: “sure”

You: “We can help with XYZ. What do you think?”

Them: “Yes, it sounds good.”

You: “Where do you think our next steps from here are?”

Bottom line: remind your prospect of the value they are buying. Give them the power in the sales conversation, open the door, and let them walk through.

Model 2: Two nos and a referral

In every deal, ask for the sale.

If you hear a No, go back to the table and:

-Air Concerns.
-Validate Concerns
-Isolate the objection
-Solve the objection
-Ask if you have resolved concerns.
-Ask for the sale again

If you hear a second No… ask for the referral.

The single act of doing this has the potential to leave every sales interaction with either new business or a new lead.

Model 4: Catch and release mindset

Most people think, “I have to follow up to the death after sale to close it”.

Wrong… needy is creepy.

Yes, while you should follow up after a proposal:

Send over:

-Client wins
-Proposal
-References

Be cognizant of human aikido. We always love people more who are in high demand.

Submit a proposal, give them the info for close, and then WALK.

Don’t contact that deal for 4-5 days. Have a close on a Monday? Don’t contact them until the next week.

Let your offer marinate in their mind. Go for high status always over desperate.

Model 5: The money conversation

This blew my mind. Read this and read it again: "It’s never about the money."

But here’s why:

In every conversation, your prospect brings:

-The baggage of past experiences
-Scars of purchases that didn’t work
-Limiting beliefs about themselves
-The consequences of putting their neck on the line.

Try this next call: leave 10 mins of a 30 min sync to handle the money 
conversation: 

“Now that you know my fee, what’s coming up for you?”

Don’t speak, just listen. Show empathy. Coach your buyer through this conversation.

Get to the root cause of the anxiety behind the money, and you will be surprised to realize… it’s never just about the money.

How can you handle the money conversation?

Alot of people would look at my CV and think I’m average.

I never worked at a Fortune 500 company.
I never carried a corporate management title.
I don’t have an MBA from Stanford or Yale.

On paper, I would get passed over for almost any senior sales/marketing role.

But the AI that scans my resume won’t see that I built a six-figure events company at the age of 21.

The middle manager skimming my CV won’t see my obsession with learning from the top 1% of sales performers after I got fired from my first job, closing $700,000+ in revenue in the space of 18 months.

The CEO won’t see I built a multi-six-figure business and scaled another SaaS to a six-figure run rate in 3 months with nothing more than organic posts.

Guess what… I stopped playing the kiss-ass to get to the top game years ago.

Where you're nothing more than a small cog in a huge corporate machine.

And I started playing the new game.

I started:

- Communicating my expertise with the written word.
- I showed up every day and built an audience online.
-With the sole aim of helping others, demonstrating my skills every day.

Guess what?

I attracted the right people who paved the way for everything that happened since.

Listen:

You’re not YEARS away from that dream job or business you want. 

You’re SKILLS away.

But your:

- employer
- customer
- future mentor

Needs to know you’ve got them.

It’s your job to SHOW them.

In 2024, a personal brand is the new resume.

Sales is the greatest skill on the planet.

But unfortunately, 99% of people haven't been taught how to sell.

Here's the best advice I've learned from closing $500k+ in deals, 150+ calls, and investing $15,000+ in coaching in the last 12 months:

1) Sales isn't a dirty word.

We're solving real problems for real people. Understand that, and you'll understand sales.

→ Ask questions to uncover their pain points.
→ Discover the need behind the need.
→ Discover the metric affected.
→ Discuss the cost of inaction. Make them see what they'll lose.
→ Close with a no-brainer offer. 

Make it irresistible.

2) Stop interrogating your prospects.

99% of sales calls have the founder using abrasive questions like, 

"What's the impact that's having on your business?"

Most of the time your prospects will refuse to play ball because it introduces friction.

→ Use softening statements to take the wind out of your hard-hitting questions.

For example: “I might be overstepping here, but just curious what's the impact that's having on the business?”

3) Create urgency out of thin air.
		
Inertia is the biggest killer of deals. Urgency is the only way your deals won't slip to next quarter.
		
Urgency can only be created when your prospect acknowledges they have a problem, they want to change, and they know the cost of inaction.

→ Here's 3 questions to create it (the order matters):

“What fires are burning in your business that could derail you in 6-12 months?”

“What's going on in the business for you to prioritize X challenge?”

“What metric would improve most as a result of that?”

“How much do you think that challenge has cost the business so far?”

Walking your prospect through these questions gives them an idea of the long-term impact of the cost of inaction. 

The metrics quantify the business pain and make it real. 

And when the cost comes into play, you've just found a motivator to get somebody to take action.

4) Master the Follow-up.

The magic often happens in the follow-up.

→ Be politely persistent.
→ Find the balance.
 → Always schedule the next touchpoint during the current one.
→ Use a CRM to automate your follow-up process.
→ Personalize every follow-up message (no mass emails).
→ Use pattern interrupts to grab prospects' attention in the form of lines like "thoughts?" or "have you given up on this?"

5) Value over Price.

Prospects rarely resist high prices. They resist unclear value.

→ When you build a compelling business case that articulates the buyer's business pain in their own words, the price becomes secondary.

→ Link buyer pains to each specific part of your solution. Don't include everything, only include what you are uniquely positioned to solve for them.

→ Share testimonials that are relevant to their use case, not random ones.

Learn these and y'all will be ahead of 99% of people.

My life was supposed to be over at 22.

I had wasted 4 years at university.

Barely passed with a 2:1.

Knee-deep in party drugs and alcohol.

Trying to latch onto whatever little meaning my life had left.

I was absolutely miserable.

Grieving the loss of one my best mates.

The little thread of hope I had for my life snapped.

And I went into a full-blown downward spiral.

Hundreds of drinks, a 3 month long bender and complete annihilation of my mental health. 

I found myself in rehab.

My parents surrounded my bed, looking at me with an emotion I’d never seen before…

Pity.

That flipped a switch in me.

I wasn’t helpless. 

I was a grown-ass man with working arms, legs and a fully-functional brain.

My life was NOT over.

It couldn’t be.

I left the hosptisl 3 months later and decided I wouldn’t go down without a fight.

Even if that mean losing whatever little I had left.

I got sober. Went all in on self development. And worked my *ss off.

7 years later, I’m glad I made that decision.

- I run my own multi-six figure business
- I’m CMO & Partner of a SAAS firm
- I get to work from around the world

But most of all, when my parents look at me now,

I see nothing but pride in their eyes.

And if that’s not a win,

I don’t know what is.

My biggest lesson? 

You might be down and out but the game is never really over. 

Whenever I feel down from time to time I remember the navy seal saying:  

“still alive, can’t quit”.

Optimize your content for the person who cuts the cheque in your deals. 

Optimize for solving the burning critical business issues your sales team hears in their sales calls every day. 

Optimize for showing up on base every day not looking at your impressions and focusing on one thing instead: 

The RIGHT followers 
The RIGHT connections
The RIGHT conversations. 

With the RIGHT people WILLING and ABLE to buy from you. 

Find a unique POV in your industry. 

A stance others may think is WRONG or CRAZY. 

Weave that into your content. 

Stay top of mind. 

Become known for your thing. 

Accept that it’s going to take 6-12 months for anything to happen. 

If you treat LinkedIn like this for a year…

… you can optimize for things ACTUALLY in your control.

Instead of hoping to become the next Branson. 

I promise you will end up with a brand that brings: 

More IMPACT, REVENUE and INFLUENCE anyway.
