Such a great week in Newport for the New England Mortgage Bankers Conference (NEMBC). Learned a ton from so many industry experts like Jennifer McGuinness-Lubbert, Jeremy Davis (who had by far the funniest and most entertaining talk of the week), Brian Gilpin and Jess Kennedy who dropped some great insights around Non-QM and so many more. 

Got to catch up with Liz Short and meet the amazing Lindsey Meyer, and Matthew Gallant • CMP, CCL. And got to meet Audrie (O'Connell) Gregory, the NonQM rockstar, in person as well, she’s quickly becoming one of my favorite humans in the industry.  

And all of this is thanks to one of my favorite humans Raquel Borras🤘🏼 who introduced Chris Mace and I a little while back, who has become a very close friend along with Pramod Kollamparambil. So thanks Raquel. You’re the bestest.

The band is together in person for the first time ever at New England Mortgage Bankers Conference (NEMBC) this week. And so we are taking the week off from No One Asked Us.

AI has no point of view… I love how Rick has positioned this and I couldn’t agree more. The last thing AI is coming for is creativity. It can recall, it can mimic and it can explain but it doesn’t have creativity or a point of view.

We need everyone at the table, I mean everyone, when it comes to AI. 
I messaged a lot of folks about meeting to talk about AI at the ACUMA conference this week. And got one response that made me think. 

The person said, I’m not the person you want to talk to. In other words they meant to say they aren’t a decision maker when it comes to technology. 

Now I get what they mean but I feel like this is a huge gap we need to close in mortgage tech. 

We need technology partners talking to end users more than decision makers. 

This is how we build better tech and this is how we grow user adoption. 

So if you’re going to be at New England Mortgage Bankers Conference (NEMBC)  or the ACUMA (American Credit Union Mortgage Association) annual conference in the coming weeks shoot me a DM or grab me at an event or in the hallway and let’s talk all things tech and AI. AI should largely be invisible, not yet another SAAS application on your desktop or browser.
