You donโ€™t need better insight tools. You need better listening. Iโ€™ve seen it so much people chasing the perfect template, framework, or tech to surface โ€œthe insight.โ€ But honestly? A new canvas wonโ€™t save you if youโ€™re not actually paying attention. Most insight work doesnโ€™t fail because of the tools. โ€ข It fails because we rush the listening. โ€ข We dont pay attention to the unsaid Instead: ๐Ÿ“‰ We skim. ๐Ÿง  We hear what we expect. ๐Ÿ˜ We ignore the tiny cues the sigh before the sentence, the โ€œmehโ€ expression, the throwaway comment at the end. Insight often hides in the stuff people barely say. ๐–๐š๐ง๐ญ ๐ญ๐จ ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐›๐ž๐ญ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐ข๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ฌ: Ask better questions. These questions unlock stories, not summaries. --- ๐Ÿš ๐“๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ค ๐›๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฌ ๐จ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ ๐จ๐š๐ฅ ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ Start you questions with: โ€ข How โ€ข Who โ€ข Where โ€ข What โ€ข Why โ€ข When โ€ข Which Staring a question with the above helps in turning your question to one that is open and help to find detail --- ๐Ÿค ๐๐จ๐ง๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฉ: shut up Donโ€™t rescue the silence instead shut up and hold the pause Let people think. That awkward pause? Thatโ€™s often when the gold comes out. Great insight isnโ€™t about asking more questions itโ€™s about asking the right ones, then actually listening to the answers.

I remember running a incubation sprint for a new leadership product. We were exploring new ways to develop a new approach and we were second away from shooting down a game changing approach One of the shy'er voices in the room dropped what felt like a wildly radical idea. Before theyโ€™d even finished speaking, someone across the table muttered: โ€œ๐—ช๐—ฒ๐—น๐—น ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜โ€™๐˜€ ๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐—บ๐—ฏ.โ€ Lucky for us, we didnโ€™t listen. ๐Ÿ”ถ We parked their judgement (๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘Ž๐‘ก ๐‘๐‘’๐‘Ÿ๐‘ ๐‘œ๐‘› ๐‘”๐‘œ๐‘ก ๐‘Ž ๐‘ฆ๐‘’๐‘™๐‘™๐‘œ๐‘ค ๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘‘ ๐‘“๐‘œ๐‘Ÿ ๐‘ โ„Ž๐‘œ๐‘ค๐‘–๐‘›๐‘” ๐‘ข๐‘ ๐‘ค๐‘–๐‘กโ„Ž ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘’ ๐‘ค๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘” ๐‘š๐‘–๐‘›๐‘‘๐‘ ๐‘’๐‘ก) ๐ˆ๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐š๐ ๐ฐ๐ž ๐ ๐š๐ฏ๐ž ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ข๐๐ž๐š ๐ซ๐จ๐จ๐ฆ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ ๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ Guess what that idea ended up making it through the whole incubation approach and ended up going live. Not only that, it reshaped how the org thinks about leadership completely ๐ˆ๐๐ž๐š๐ฌ ๐ง๐ž๐ž๐ ๐จ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ ๐ž๐ง. Those three words could have killed creative momentum before it even got going. The business could have lost out on its game changing approach to leadership Here's the thing it doesnt always need words to shut something down to soon ๐Ÿ™„ A raised eyebrow. ๐Ÿ˜ A smirk. ๐Ÿค A stray comment that lands at the wrong time. All can stop early-stage ideas before they even get going. ๐ˆ๐๐ž๐š๐ฌ ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐š๐ ๐ข๐ฅ๐ž ๐š๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ญ They dont need instant refining at the start... what they need is space. --- Your brain doesnโ€™t need a critic when itโ€™s dreaming. So how do you stop yourself from being critic It simple say to yourself ๐—ช๐—ง๐—™ ๐—ช๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐˜: For the person to finish explaining their idea ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ธ: How it might actually work before I say it cant ๐—™๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฑ: Something you like on the idea Timing is everything You could be comment away form losing the best product solution before it even gets going

๐—œ๐—ด๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—•๐—ฒ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐Ÿญ: Nurture Most of the time, ideas fail not because theyโ€™re inherently bad, but because theyโ€™re killed too soon. In a rush to move on to the next big thing Teams can be quick to discard ideas without giving them the chance to mature. ๐—˜๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—น๐˜†-๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฒ. Like seedlings that need protection from the elements, these ideas need to be nurtured and cared for in the early stages. ๐—œ๐˜โ€™๐˜€ ๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ด๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—บ ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ, ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฝ, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜„. Thatโ€™s what nurturing behaviour does it keeps ideas alive long enough to evolve into something meaningful. Iโ€™ve seen this happen in the real world, in startups and large corporations alike. ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—น๐˜† ๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜€ ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ธ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐˜†โ€™๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜€. They hold off on judgment, even if the ideas break the norm or seem impractical at first. They provide the room and support necessary for ideas to grow into something truly innovative. ๐—œ๐—ณ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜€ ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—ปโ€™๐˜ ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐˜ ๐—ฐ๐˜‚๐˜ ๐—ผ๐—ณ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ผ ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—น๐˜† encourage nurturing behaviour in your team. Protect those early thoughts, even if they donโ€™t seem perfect. By doing so, you give them the chance to evolve and possibly transform into game changing solutions.
