With my experience working alongside top innovators like Alex Osterwalder and Tendayi Viki and companies like Google, American Express, and Novo Nordisk, I know what it takes to turn big ideas into measurable success. I’ve helped organisations build systems that drive real change, and I can do the same for you. I know the pressure you’re under because I’ve seen it first hand. Innovation is hard. You’re navigating a world full of uncertainty, juggling long-term goals with short-term outcomes, and trying to create change in a system that’s set up to resist you. You’re not just coming up with ideas, you’re fighting for them. You’re building the foundation that keeps innovation alive: processes, culture, and collaboration. Sometimes, it feels like the weight of the company’s future is on your shoulders. You’re expected to deliver results, inspire creativity, and prove the value of your work. All while facing resistance from leadership, pushback from teams, and the isolation of feeling like no one truly understands what you do. The pressure is real. And so is the frustration. But here’s the thing. You’re not alone. And you don’t have to figure this out on your own. That’s where I come in. I help innovation managers like you build and scale innovation functions that don’t just survive but thrive, without the overwhelm. Together, we’ll tackle the challenges that keep you up at night: → How do you turn ideas into real, measurable results when resources are limited? → How do you break down silos, inspire collaboration, and overcome resistance to change? → How do you prove the value of innovation in a way that gets leadership not just to notice—but to fully invest? Here’s what you’ll walk away with: ✅ A clear, actionable process to prioritise and test ideas quickly, so you’re not wasting time or resources. ✅ Frameworks to align leadership and team members, giving you the buy-in and support you need. ✅ Strategies to break down silos, inspire collaboration, and build trust across departments. ✅ Guidance to create a strong business case for innovation that gets leadership on your side. ✅ A way to measure success and show the real, undeniable value of your work. ✅ The confidence to push past resistance and create a culture where innovation thrives, not just once, but consistently. If this sounds like the kind of support you’ve been looking for, let’s talk. Book a 1-on-1 discovery call with me, and we’ll explore how we can build an innovation function that works for you and your organisation. https://calendly.com/nick-himo/15-minute-meeting

Most businesses don’t fail because of bad ideas. They fail because they don’t adapt fast enough. Last month, I interviewed Aidan McCullen, author of Undisruptable. He shared six frameworks that help businesses stay ahead of the curve. 1. Disruptive Innovation – Clayton Christensen ↳ Find markets that others overlook. ↳ Disrupt from below with new value propositions. 2. Business Model Canvas – Alex Osterwalder & Yves Pigneur ↳ Map your business visually to find gaps and opportunities. ↳ Refine how you create, deliver, and capture value. 3. Innovation Continuum – Charles O’Reilly & Michael Tushman ↳ Balance process improvements with breakthrough innovation. ↳ Avoid disruption by evolving before you have to. 4. Build-Measure-Learn – Eric Ries ↳ Turn ideas into real-world tests. ↳ Use fast feedback loops to adapt and improve. 5. Early Warning Model – Rita McGrath ↳ Spot weak signals before they become big trends. ↳ Make strategic shifts at the right moment. 6. The IKEA Effect – Michael Norton, Daniel Mochon, and Dan Ariely ↳ People value what they help create. ↳ Make customers feel invested in your product or service. There are lovers and haters of each framework. But what matters is that you actually use them to make a positive change with your business. After all… “All models are wrong, some are useful.” - George Box What’s your favourite framework? ♻️ Big shifts start with aha moments. If this post gave you one, tap share and pass it on. - - - - 1. I spent 30 days reading The Invincible Company. Here’s what I learnt… No organisation lasts forever. But the ones that get closest do 3 things: 1. They constantly reinvent themselves ↳ even when they are winning 2. They rethink their entire business model ↳ not just their products & tech. 3. They expand into new industries ↳ so it’s hard to put them in a box. These companies know how to: → Exploit their existing business model → Explore new opportunities And do both at the same time. This is easier said than done. It requires opposing management styles. The book shares useful tools: 1. The Portfolio Map A dashboard to visualise & manage your: ↳ existing business models ↳ new innovation projects 2. The Strategy Triangle ↳ Makes your corporate identify explicit. ↳ Defines your guidelines for innovation. ↳ What projects are in and out? 3. Business Model Patterns ↳ Patterns are like proven recipes. ↳ Use them to create new businesses ↳ or reinvent existing ones. 4. The Culture Map Culture can be created so carefully shape: ↳ behaviours ↳ outcomes ↳ enablers There’s a lot more to the book. It’s very hard to summarise on one page! Have you read The Invincible company by Alexander Osterwalder, Yves Pigneur and Strategyzer yet? ♻️ Big shifts start with aha moments. If this post gave you one, tap share and pass it on. - - - - 1.
