An invaluable experience as a one-person digital marketing team 🦑

Together with a wonderful international content team, I managed and executed the social media strategy for over 20 wine brands, including renowned names like Vinexpo Paris, California Wines Institute, Diageo, D.O. Cava, Protos, and many more.

I was responsible for all digital marketing activities:

↳ Paid Ads on Meta, LinkedIn, Google Ads for brand awareness and lead generation/sales
↳ Email marketing automation and Messenger marketing
↳ Web analytics and reporting
↳ Creation of landing pages

Having worked in large companies and agencies, where each specialist is narrowly specialised in their channel, working at FirstPour allowed me to expand my expertise and gain experience as a web analyst, email marketer, SEM, and Paid Social specialist, as well as a website creator.

About the Project: FirstPour is a social media marketing agency uniquely positioned to understand the inner workings of the wine market.

My wine tasting club: A practice ground for digital marketing skills 🍷

What started as an Instagram account about wine quickly turned into a wine club and then an online wine course. Here are some of the results from this project:

↳ Approximately 100 students
↳ 10 Offline wine tastings
↳ 10 partnerships with wine stores and influencers
↳ 300 subscribers for the Telegram bot "Online Sommelier"
↳ 5,000 followers on Instagram through organic content with an average engagement rate of 8%

This experience taught me how to:

↳ Create a community-driven wine portal
↳ Develop digital assets: images, videos, texts, landing pages
↳ Organize wine events and tastings both offline and online
↳ Build an audience organically in a highly restrictive market
↳ Construct a multi-touch point digital ecosystem

JTI (Japan Tobacco International)

JTI is a leading FMCG company in Russia. My function — management of various digital channels of communication. 

🟢 Responsibilities
• Creation and implementation of holistic strategy in IG, FB, VK with respect to social media rules of a highly restricted industry to increase corporate brand awareness
• Anti-illicit trade portal promotion via digital channels: VK, Telegram, Yandex Zen, Yandex Direct, Google Ads 

🚀 Achievements
• Social media subscribers +30% organic post reach +40%
• Generation of 10% additional year traffic to the corporate portal due to SMM seeding campaign optimization which saved >20k $ in 6 months period

Simple Wine News is the leading print and online magazine about the Wine & Spirits industry in Russia. It is one of the oldest media outlets about wine in Russia that belongs to the leading premium wine importing company Simple.

• Contribution to the English section of the website
• Research of the topics interesting to the English speaking audience

🚀Achievements 
• Initiation of the Weekly Wine Digest project that summarizes the wine news of the Russian wine market 
• Writing 14 issues of Weekly Wine Digest 
• Translation of 12 regular issues of Simple Wine News from Russian to English

• Organization of >10 promotional events for the app among professional audiences and various stakeholders

MBG is among the leaders of wine and spirits imports in Russia. I was responsible for both marketing and education activities.

• Copy-writing for the company’s website and social media
• Development of marketing, POS materials, and selling brochures for sales managers
• Organization of wine tastings for company managers, professionals of the wine industry, private clients
• Organization and management of foreign suppliers’ visits to Russia

🚀 Achievements
• Launch of the regular newsletter for the company’s sales managers’ support
• Creation of a wine tasting club at the company’s restaurant and realization of >20 events, with >300 participants
• Organization and realization of >500 workshops in 11 cities of Russia for professionals of the industry and clients

The hardest part?

Not “finding clients” — there are plenty of B2B teams that need lead gen.
It’s building a system that actually works and knowing its limits. What we do isn’t for everyone, and being honest about fit is part of our process.

What’s next (Year 2):

👉 Document every core process with clear SOPs so the team can own more
👉 Keep building systems and integrating the latest tech to improve speed & accuracy
👉 Run continuous, always-on outbound to attract the right clients
👉 Keep investing in relationships across the space

I won’t pretend the year was easy. There were moments I wondered if a job elsewhere would be simpler.

But this was the most fulfilling year of my career. I felt full responsibility and the commitment to do what I believe is right.

My thinking changed, too — more entrepreneurial and organizational. I started spotting opportunities in places I’d never look before.

Goal for next year remains the same: figure out how business works. 

Here’s to Year 2 — smarter systems, better campaigns, stronger partnerships. 🚀
