Founded in 1961, Beasley is one of the Nation’s leading radio broadcasters and one of the oldest pure-play radio companies in the United States. Today the company owns and operates 53 stations (33 FM and 20 AM) located in twelve large and mid-size markets in the United States. Today, I’ve officially unlocked Level 50! 🥂

I’m SO grateful that you’re with me on this journey!  🙏🏻

As a gift, I’m sharing my Top 50 lessons learned in 50:

1) Believe in yourself because you are worthy
2) Don’t settle, you are meant for more
3) The most important person to be nice to is YOU
4) Claim your shame or it will claim you 
5) The best investment you will ever make is in yourself
6) Ask for help, sometimes reaching out is the bravest thing you can do
7) Fear is a green light that means go!
8) Trust your instincts, your intuition always knows the way
9) Haters are a sign you are making it!  Celebrate!

I had just been recognized as one of the 40 Most Influential Women in Radio.

Then I got fired. 🤯

But for anyone going thru a low moment here’s what I realized:

It was not rejection, but a redirection!

After that setback, I got up and prepared for my comeback.

I asked for help. Sometimes it’s the bravest thing that you can do.

And because I did, opportunities started showing up! 🌟

🎙️ At 45, I launched my podcast Creating Confidence.

🗣️ At 47, I was named Top 50 Keynote Speaker by Real Leaders .
📈 At 48, my Podcast hit Top 20 on the Business Chart on Apple podcast.
🎤 At 49, I headlined the Leap Conference in Saudi Arabia and spoke for Tony Robbins and Dean Graziosi's event, The Game Has Changed. 

Bottomline:
You can choose to rise after every fall! 🚀

I don’t believe anyone is confident all of the time.



I hear just as much from junior people that they feel they’re too young and green to add value in a meeting

As I hear from senior people that they’re afraid they’re past their prime and are out of touch with technology etc.

Here is the truth: 
👉🏻 Age is your strength, your power – your edge no matter which side of it you are on. 

If you are a junior on the team, choose to see your youth as your edge. 

Your unique perspective means you will have a new way of seeing things, a fresh perspective.

Your creativity and lack of experience give you an edge in seeing things differently. 🌱

If you are a senior let that be your stronghold.

Your expertise and experience give you a knowing and a confidence in what has worked and what hasn’t and why. 

Your knowledge base, network and ability to navigate challenges is unmatched. 

That is powerful. 🔥

If success was easy, everyone would have it.


Success may look different to everyone.

But however you define it, in order to have success, you’ll need to prioritize. 
 
And that means…

✅ Making sacrifices
✅ Putting yourself in uncomfortable situations
✅ Saying no to other things

Some would say it’s not that hard, but it really can be.

I spent my 20s moving to Saginaw, Michigan.

I accepted a sweat equity partnership and since my partner was the financial backer, he didn’t move or work with me daily.

The pressure was on me❗

While my friends were living their best lives back in Boston, I was working for 3 years straight – no vacations, no days off!

I had my goal and vision locked and eventually victory was achieved. 🔥

Together with the team I built, we’ve accelerated revenues so drastically over 3 years that we sold the company for $55M.

My partners were very happy and I had the first real time example of what it takes to create business success.

Lesson learned:
You don't always see the sacrifices others are making to get where they are. 💯

On the outside, you see someone’s success but that’s only one side of the coin.

👀 The sleepless nights
💭 Moments of wondering “what if I made the wrong decision?” 
😰 The anxiety of not knowing if everything will work out

No risk, no reward! That is a fact.

Unpopular opinion:
 
When women take stages before they have put the reps in,

It hurts all women. 💥

Today, social media allows anyone to portray themselves as an expert.
 
If you are not an expert, please don’t pretend to be.
If you are hiring, please do your due diligence.
 
I have been told too many times this year that large events have mainly male speakers because the females they have hired bombed. 💣
 
Here’s what I know: 
When you put the reps in and take the stage and crush it,
You lift up everyone! 💪🏻
 
But when you don’t put the reps in and take the stage you roll things backwards. 🤦‍♀️
 
Have you seen this phenomenon where people pretend to be something they are not and then are eventually exposed hurting others along with themselves?

Usually, I am the biggest advocate for women but observing this phenomenon, I had to call it out.
