1️⃣ Break your beliefs down to the most simplistic fact

Remember that your limiting beliefs are not rooted in truth. Think about the raw facts, did you really lose “everything”? Or did you just lose a “paycheck”? What do you still have?

List it all down, but keep it to the raw facts.

2️⃣ Take action immediately

Think about what you can do now to turn this energy around. Open yourself up to possibilities and let people know you’re now available for new opportunities.

Reach out to your network. Get creative.

3️⃣ Curate and intentionally access the right knowledge

If you stay in the same circle, you’ll only know what you already know. Take this chance to discover what’s outside of your comfort zone.

Last night I saw a Chevron charge on my AMEX alert, and I was annoyed.
If you have a child with Apple Pay then you understand.

But that feeling passed quickly.

I remembered years ago, when Dylan was young we had pulled into a gas station on a bright Sunday afternoon.  

I jumped out to pump the gas, and a criminal jumped into my car and stole my phone, wallet, keys and purse, all while Dylan sat in his car seat strapped in the back.

I watched my son full of fear for a long time.  He thought he was about to be taken from me. He could have been taken but thank God they left him and the car with me at the gas station.  

It took years before he would go to a gas station with me again.

I remembered this when I was annoyed I was paying for his gas for his jeep.  
I remembered how much things can improve with time.

No matter what, things will change.

Things will improve and get better with time.

Also, learn from my experience to always lock your car door when you get fuel.

I immediately felt grateful that I get to have a son who knows how to pump his own gas with confidence and I get to pay for it. He is no longer afraid.  

Instead he is empowered to make better decisions than I did.  

He locks his car door.

Lack of growth opportunity is a very VALID reason to leave a job.

Haters are always gonna hate ❌

So don’t bother hiding or keeping a low profile!

Remember this: 

It is better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for what you are not❣️

Here are SEVEN ways to deal with haters ⬇️

1️⃣ Address haters in your personal life head-on

Or find a way to cut them out of your life. Overcome Your Villains!

2️⃣ Do not give haters power over you – which means ignore them. 

They don’t deserve your attention. Period.

3️⃣ Don’t take haters personally – that allows them to create self-doubt for you. 

Their feelings are more about them than it is about you.

4️⃣ Stay away from haters, physically and emotionally.

Instead, surround yourself with positive people who support and encourage you.

5️⃣ Set your boundaries and never let a hater cross the line.

Your mental health is worth so much more than allowing a hater to impose on your life.

6️⃣ Prioritize yourself and put yourself first. 

Take care of YOU!.

7️⃣ When haters come, it’s not a sign that something is wrong; it’s a sign that you are doing something right! We are not vanilla, and that deserves to be celebrated!

I used to focus on 🚩 red flags because I didn’t want to miss them.  Can you relate?

Here’s what I know, I don’t do business or hang with people that present 🚩 red flags

But these days I trust myself to see things clearly not the way I wish they would be 😇

Today, I focus on green flags and the traits I want to have in my circle in business and life 

Green flags for me:

Supportive 
Joyful 
Fun 
Loyal

During the pandemic my son had a really tough time.

He was isolated from friends and basketball as sports were canceled.

He was forced to learn online alone in his room.

His dog died.  Things were not good.  His grades dropped drastically 

So much so that he had to go to New Hampshire for summer school to make up credits.

While he was there, he broke his arm.  I thought that was it things are only getting worse.

But I was wrong.  
He took that opportunity to teach himself how to write with his other hand.  

He doubled down on academic camp and won an award for his effort.

He made great friends and learned new ways to care for his body through food choices while he couldn’t play sports.

He came out of that situation a better, stronger, more resilient young man and his confidence soared to new heights.  

Sometimes, the epic low moments become the jump-off for something so much bigger!

Don’t lose hope, your darkness may be an example of not being buried but being planted to bloom.

Coming out of Easter weekend, I’m full of anticipation around what can be resurrected, rebirthed, renewed with the beginning of Spring. 😇

It’s important to note that resurrection is the act of bringing someone or something back to life. 

We’ve all experienced this in our own lives. 

When I was fired from my CRO role at 43, it felt like the end. 💀 

But it was actually a rebirth transforming my career into my calling as  an author, podcast host, Keynote speaker, Boardmember and consultant. 🌸

I was reminded that relationships can be resurrected too. Having dinner with a great friend from college I hadn’t seen in years and just like that our friendship was born again. 

This time with adult children in tow 😂

It’s not too late to be what you might have been. 🤩

It’s not too late to resurrect the friendship, the dream, the workout, the book, or your faith. 🙏🏻

Make the decision to do it now while you still can. 👏🏻

When you have faith and a belief that is so strong and you surrender your control to something so much bigger than you, miracles happen 😇

1️⃣ Harassed by my boss in the wine biz, I quit and then was hired in the radio business 

2️⃣ Boyfriend cheated on me, new boss offers me equity partnership if I’ll move to Michigan to run company. I jump at the chance. 

3️⃣ Sell the company for $30M profit new owner puts non-solicit so my partner and I can’t work together anymore that leads me to Florida to become a CRO 

4️⃣ After 14 yrs CEO becomes ill and is replaced by his daughter she fires me asap, I write my first book and launch my speaking career 🙏🏻

5️⃣ I was being considered to keynote a big US event March 8th, they went with another speaker. The next day I booked Leap in Saudi March 4-8th and landed the biggest speaking engagements of my life 😇

Last night I had dinner with my friend who has a new book out. She wanted to know the secret to sell a lot of books. 🧐

Here’s the thing that everyone forgets: 

Everyone’s in sales and sales principles apply to everything. 

Here’s how I broke it down for her: 

1️⃣ recreate the pain your audience is in and reveal to them how your solution solves their problem - make it about helping them

2️⃣ lead with adding value and serving others and you will win every time 

3️⃣ instead of chasing business down attract it to you. Having a personal brand is the best way to do this quickly! 

4️⃣ people do business with people they know, like and trust. Showing up as the real you on social will attract your people into your community where you can convert them to clients 

5️⃣ ask for what you want. Don’t self reject before you empower someone else to decide for themselves. Give people the opportunity to support you and buy from you - so many people need your book let them know it exists! 

6️⃣ you can sell 1:1 or 1:many. Selling one to many Moves product much faster. Identify communities where you can present to a large audience, speak for free in order to sell from stages, go on podcasts to access others audiences there are so many ways to do this. 

7️⃣ there is not a one size fits all solution. You need to test and try and innovate meaning take messy action and don’t give up when you experience some failure. What worked yesterday may no longer work today be willing to try something new.

When I was fired at 43, I had no idea I would end up having 300,000 followers on LinkedIn a few years later 😳

Here’s how I did it and why you should too!👏🏻

✅ Just start. Done will always be better than perfect. You will improve over time. Michael Jordan didn’t start out as an all star and we won’t either. But we can become one over time 

👌🏻 Be consistent. This is key to success.  Posting consistently Monday - Friday shows your community you are committed to being here for them.

🙌🏻 People do business with people they know like and trust. You can get to know 100’s of thousands of people here and allow them to feel connected and seen. Show up and shine your light we all need it! 

👍🏻 Don’t overthink it. Imposter syndrome is just a cover for fear. The only way you can ever be an imposter is if you show up as someone other than YOU! 

🔑 When creating content you can share your personal stories, teach your expertise, share your POV on other’s content or discuss your learnings or experiences. Content
Creation can be anything you imagine. 

🙌🏻 Identify 10 competitors. Success leaves clues. You’ll get insight and inspo from those that are ahead of you.  

👏🏻 Don’t be afraid of not being original. The last original work was the bible.

15 years ago I met my friend Saif.

He nominated me to my first board seat which I am so grateful for!

I served for a decade under him @City Year Miami working to support underprivileged youth in Miami schools.

He taught me so much but the most important thing is that no matter what you look like, where you are from or what your background is your hearts can be the same.

He has the biggest heart and is always helping others and serving our community to make the world a brighter place.

When I was in Saudi, he took time to introduce me to everyone and guide me around Riyadh.

I am forever grateful for our friendship and all of the support he and his wife always give me.

Today, I want to congratulate him on the biggest Miami accolade there is.
