It’s an uncomfortable truth, but most of your to-do list doesn’t need doing. I learned this last week — in the ER. I’d cut my finger. Nothing serious. But while waiting, I watched how nurses triaged patients: Some were treated immediately. Some were told to wait. Some were sent home with nothing. And it hit me: This is how we should handle our tasks. You don’t need 100 productivity hacks. You need triage. Lincoln said: "Leave nothing for tomorrow which can be done today." Napoleon? He’d ignore battlefield dispatches for 3 weeks — because most resolved themselves. Both were right. The “Now or Next Week” Rule: ✓ Takes <10 min? → Do it now. ? Unclear or not urgent? → Revisit next week. ✗ Everything else? → Let it go. Doing less, faster beats doing more, later. Clarity begins when you stop carrying everything all at once. That’s why this post was written one week after that ER visit — and not a moment sooner. Stop managing your to-do list like a grocery list. Start managing it like an ER. ♻️ Repost to help others prioritize their time and energy. ➕ Follow Andrew for more.

Each year, millions of pilgrims converge for Hajj—an event that can challenge even the most advanced logistics systems. While the faith-driven journey is visible to all, the technology by stc ensuring safety and mobility works in the background. Fast Company Middle East's feature makes that visible. From real-time communication and multilingual alerts to AI-powered crowd monitoring and emergency response, stc's technology and infrastructure quietly ensure that the Hajj experience remains seamless, even under immense scale and complexity. This is innovation in the service of something greater, told creatively by FC.

2025 MENA Early Stage Data Handbook (PDF, 93 pages) is now here: https://lnkd.in/dNyUxCWU - Premoney valuation, survival rate and failure rate, deal and ticket size, shareholder dilution for #seed, #SeriesA and #SeriesB, market situation, composition and dealflow quality - all with scientific reliability. You will notice two new Easter Eggs: - Founder dilution tables, simulating the reduction in the existing shareholder's equity after raising Seed or Series A - A "Summaries of MENA Venture Market Benchmarks" reference card with all the benchmarks of all stages in one page (see page 90) In the 2025 edition, we add two special briefs: - What is the impact of the increased investor activity in MENA using more non-VC investment mix? Why do Series A and Pre-seed both seem to be in pain? - What MENA startups and VCs do to capitalize on the AI opportunity? Where to find AI startups in MENA (by country) and where they relocate their HQ The Data Handbook is commonly used this way: - If you're a tech #founder: #Fundraising management parameters, such as ticket size, how many investors you'll need on average to close your round, are you getting a high/low #valuation, is it too late for your company to see VC money - If you're an #investor: Expected returns, allocation strategy, portfolio construction, #fund and portfolio management, and fun stuff like how many companies do you need to bring to yield you 3 series B's in 10 years - If you're an #angel: How many bad companies will you face until you land a good startup, how long will you keep the startup until it raises the next round, how many of your portfolio startups are likely to succeed and how many are likely to fail - If you run an #accelerator: How many good companies should you expect when you decide to start a cohort in #UAE, #Saudi or #Egypt I hope you find value the insights. If you do: - Share your thoughts on your social media - Share the report (either the link or the pdf itself) with someone you know will find it useful Short URL: clear.world/handbook * You have our blessing to use or repurpose the content for your own content, just mention the source. * As per Clearworld's standards, we've included a detailed page on methodology and a guide on how to invalidate our insights. #mena #venturecapital #startups #data #insights #benchmarks More on our not-for-profit initiative Common Intelligence: https://clear.world/common All the details about Clearworld: https://clear.world/firm

A unique opportunity to shape a new future. Anyone interested? Eid Mubarak 🌙

Today’s Farnam Street newsletter included this gem and I couldn’t help but connect it with a visual by GoLimitless. We all spend too much time rewriting the past in our heads. But the future only listens to what we do next. Here's the quote: Don't let your worst moments become your story. You blow the presentation and spend the drive home scripting perfect comebacks to an audience that's already gone. Your relationship ends and you spend months replaying conversations that can't be changed. All the time spent perfecting the past is stolen from the future that's still waiting. The past is a teacher, not a judge. Your next move matters more than your last mistake.

Super proud to see my home city, Hong Kong, welcoming these bright young talents from Tabuk! Wishing the students from the College of Tourism and Hospitality at UT a truly enriching and inspiring learning journey. This initiative is a fantastic example of global academic collaboration and hands-on career development in the hospitality industry. Make the most of your time here, and don’t forget to explore the vibrant city, especially the iconic Tsim Sha Tsui district near PolyU. The Star Ferry and Avenue of Stars are a must, along with the many museums and artsy malls dotting the harborfront. Welcome to Hong Kong!

Real talent doesn’t need to be imported. It needs to be invested in. Today, we welcomed key collaborators and partners to our high-tech Greenhouse at the University of Tabuk — a hub built to grow world-class produce and harvest the data we need to farm smarter in the desert. But my biggest discovery of the day? Shouq Almutairi — a standout graduate of our Greenhouse Production & Business Management program. She just moved from Riyadh to Tabuk. Got a place. Got a car. Ready to get to work in our brand-new production house at Topian. Huge thanks to our ecosystem partners and the University of Tabuk for backing this vision. This is just the start.
