OK so here's what's bringing me joy outside of work.

1. Modern Family - My wife and I both were like we should watch this show from start to finish and it's become one of our favorite ways to unwind. Literally laughing out loud at this show all the time. An oldie but wholesome goodie.

2. Cooking Classes - Doing cooking classes has become such a great way for my wife and I to learn new recipes and get better at cooking. Highly recommend this as a pattern interrupt to your usual date-night style outings.

3. Murderbot Diaries - I've binged this series like nothing before. And it's getting adapted for a live action by Apple TV. If you like sci-fi page turners that have some great humor and amazing action scenes -- try the first book (written by Martha Wells).

4. On shoes - these baddies are all the rage at my local Orangetheory Fitness. All the cool kiddos are wearing them, so of course I had to cave. Got a casual pair and a running pair. I'm obsessed. These are the comfiest shoes for walkin/running.

5. 📸 Ademola Adelakun, MBET and 🤝Will Taylor visited me in Tampa Bay recently and I got to have just the absolute best time hanging with these two goofy, humble, empathic, artistic humans. Love these boys so much. Follow them for great content.

6. The New York Times Games - Specifically Wordle, Connections, and the Mini are my go-to nearly every morning to start my day. If I don't get Wordle, I know my brain is not firing on all cylinders and it's gonna be a rough day lol.

7. Jay Shetty's Daily Jay on Calm - I recently started listening more to the Daily Jays while walking my dog and it's been so beautifully relaxing. If you're looking for a break from just listening to podcasts/music on your walks/commutes and want a bit of a way to center yourself go check it out.

8. Alex Hormozi's $100M Offers - I had to get over my first impression of Alex as an arrogant gym bro. Listening to his audiobook completely reshaped my perception of him, his ideas, and his advice. Shout-out to 📸 Ademola for encouraging me to give this a try. It really helped alter how I look at how to operate in the business world.

Dear Founders,

I get that your startup wants to recreate the HubSpot content marketing playbook.

But I'm not sure you fully realize the time, money, and manpower required to replicate that.

If you want to recreate the HubSpot playbook, then be ready to:

- sit down to write tens of thousands of SEO laced articles over a decade
- pay to produce hundreds of YouTube videos built around keywords
- build thousands of free resources like templates and ebooks
- hire 14 writers across 4 different blog properties
- hire an entire YT team (strategist, script writer, on air talents, distributors, editors)
- launch an entire podcast network with multiple people overseeing just podcasts
- bring in several people who look only at distribution across these channels to answer questions like how do we grow traffic on the blog, how do we convert leads, how do we increase podcast downloads, how do we boost view on YT?

It's great to have a content marketing north star/big brother to look at.

But please if you're a series B or lower and you ain't got the cash for it.

Maybe instead look at different playbooks.

Ones that are smaller. More achievable. 

Focus on 1-2 platforms/medias that show early signs of success and double down on them for 18-24 months.

Maybe like the flywheel we're implementing here Motion (Creative Analytics).
