Not just construction — full lifecycle thinking. That’s how all developments should be. Data-led decisions. Less waste. Lower costs. More value over time. The thing with data isn’t that we need more of it; It’s that we need better data — and to actually use it. Right now: → We’ve got loads of data, but not the right data → We don’t know where it is or how to organise it → And we struggle to turn it into insights or income But what if we did have quality, accessible data? We’d likely see: A) Smarter decisions B) Faster development C) Better lending + investment So how do we fix this? → Use tech to unlock the value of data ← (The challenge isn’t tech — it’s adoption)

What a great podcast with Oxford Talks ! Naturally, given my field we discussed the future of cities, connected infrastructure, and why smart should never just mean digital — it should mean human. Because technology alone doesn’t build better cities. People do. And when data is used with purpose, it can transform lives. Our cities shouldn’t be costing us; they should be paying us. We’ve built urban systems that drain public budgets. But with live data, smart infrastructure, and circular finance, cities can generate revenue: ✓ Energy savings become carbon credits ✓ Income from performing buildings ✓ Green bonds fueling local investment ✓ Digital twins speeding up capital flows And it’s not just a theory; it’s already happening. In #Saudi, in #Asia, in ELIXR projects… So when we treat cities as ecosystems (not expenses) we unlock GDP growth, capital, and regeneration at scale.

Dinner last night in Riyadh! I have to say, I spend most of my time around people in my industry; but who knew the sports world could be so cool 😎 (Shockingly, everyone) Great chats after their Ministry of Sport – وزارة الرياضة event. And some of my Pinsent Masons friends too: Julian Diaz-Rainey Trevor Watkins & Catherine Workman earlier! It’s a true milestone when you can call partners friends. 🥂 to a few more exciting days in Riyadh.

What a great time in Dubai & Riyadh! I started last week on several panels; ⚡️Followed by delivering a keynote on Energy, Technology, Policy, Investment and Supply Chains.
