It was May 2022. And I had just posted on LinkedIn for the 1st time.

0 connections, 0 followers and 0 posts.

In the 365 days since, I've:

- Gotten dream speaking opportunities
- Found my true purpose as an entrepreneur

Underrated LinkedIn strategy:

- Not talking about yourself 
- Not posting no-context selfies 
- Not posting about family and pets 
- Not breaking personal boundaries

People are interested on the value you add, not on the fluff you post.

Your personal brand is not your personal diary.

Your obsession with "originality" is limiting your growth.

Way too many people are letting others get ahead by obsessing over authenticity. 

Here’s the truth: nothing is original anymore. 

But that doesn’t mean you can’t stand out. 

Authenticity doesn’t mean you need to reinvent the wheel. 

It means that you add to it. 

- Show your personality 
- Share your interests
- Form connections
- Be vulnerable 
- Show depth

If you’re struggling to create content, try this instead: 

- Analyse what’s working on LinkedIn
- Define your goal (authority/conversion)
- Pick a topic you want to write about 
- Insert keyword into Taplio’s search tool
- Find high-performing posts in that topic
- Look at the hook, body and CTA’s 
- Use those structures to write your post

Then, find ways to rewrite those posts and make them yours. 

- Mix and match hooks
- Add your experience 
- Add your personality 
- Show your own process 

You’ll quickly learn what works and what doesn’t for you. 

10x on what works, ditch the rest. 

Use trends/formats/styles to your advantage (and only if they suit your brand).

You don’t get extra points for not participating.

You’re expected to:

- Write for 5-year-olds
- Write lengthy posts
- Focus on grammar 

But it’s (actually) really simple:

- Avoid corporate and complex jargon
- Write in simple and clear sentences 
- Write as you speak 

Writing online isn’t hard, but we’ve been conditioned to think it is. 

Clear over clever.

Then sell the solutions.
