After several years of career pivots, 
I identified the #1 skill, that determines professional survival.

My students keep asking: 

'How do you stay motivated to keep learning new things?' 

Here's the honest answer they don't expect.

Last week, during office hours, a student looked exhausted and asked: 

"How do you find the energy to keep learning? 
I can barely keep up with my coursework, 
and you're running a tech startup, teaching, 
AND always talking about, 
some new skill you're developing."

I paused. 

Because the truth is...
Some Days, I Don't Want To.

📌 There are times when I stare at my laptop,
knowing I should work on Anutio's new features,
and all I want to do is scroll social media. 

📌 There are evenings when I plan to read that
product management book, 
but Netflix wins instead.

When you're juggling multiple roles - 
lecturer, founder, product manager -

I froze on stage.

Not just once, multiple times.

During my undergraduate thesis presentation, 
I completely blanked out.

My slides were ready. 
My research was solid.

But when it was time to speak?
Silence.

My voice betrayed me. 
My confidence evaporated.

I took a few minutes to compose myself.
And I remember why I love farming
Why my research was important to me
And the communities I worked with. 

I found my voice and finished my presentation

But I still felt defeated and convinced:

A team isn’t built when people work together.

I’ve seen teams with brilliant minds fall apart,

“I don’t even know what I want to do anymore.”
If you’ve ever whispered that to yourself, you’re not alone.
