If I was starting over as a writer:

1. Read 2-3 novels a week
2. Read 1 poem and 1 short story daily
3. Write 1 hour per day

This would put you in the top 10% of writers by the end of 2025.

If you want to grow faster, write better content.

If you want to write better content, write more content.

If you want to write more content, spend more time writing.

There are no shortcuts. Put in the work.

Reject the "enjoy your 20s" psyop

Employ your 20s instead:

- Learn a skill
- Write a book
- Start a family
- Build a business
- Strengthen your body

Set the foundation now to crush the rest of your life with ease.

Find the work you would do 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗳 𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂.

Then find a way to make it pay.

That's the real secret.

Great writers read more fiction than non-fiction.

Great writers master the details without missing the big picture.

"The opposite of a good idea can also be a good idea. Don’t design for average. It doesn’t pay to be logical if everyone else is being logical."

Don't design for average, don't write for it either.

Look if you want to be a writer:

Learn to love writing.

People will tell you it's finding ideas that matter but if that was true you could just hire someone.

Learn to love words for their own sake, and you'll get good.

It's the only way.

You can read a thousand books and be dumber than someone who read ten books and understood them.

Everybody wants a 4-hour workweek

Nobody wants to hear the key to success is to work hard and never give up.

It's not that you're short of time.

It's that you're short of purpose.

Believe me, when you have a purpose that's driving you forward, an obsession that keeps you going, a drive that powers you...

...you will find the time.

The reason you find writing hard is that you give up writing because writing is hard.

There is no "hack" to writing well.

Just practice

How to edit your work:

- read it out loud
- focus on simplifying
- leave it for 24h or more
- have one person in mind
- scrap the first 3-4 paragraphs
- change every sentence you trip over twice
