operations within the music industry, Jordan transitioned into software engineering and program management by leveraging his unique strengths and diverse experiences. At Twitch, he plays a key role in enhancing creator programs and contributing to product development, with expertise in Go, AWS, JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, React, and Node.js. 

Jordan actively advocates for diversity in tech, emphasizing the value of embracing unique strengths and pursuing unconventional career paths that ultimately benefit both the user and the business.

One of my favorite things to do as a software engineer is help my friends.

When Rebecca Gorena launched her breakfast taco business, Hard Feelings Tacos, she didn’t have a website. I jumped on it.

Rebecca has been making breakfast tacos for years. I was her downstairs neighbor for about four of them, so I’ve had a front-row seat to her craft. She started cooking for friends, then the public—and now she’s selling out hundreds of tacos in under 20 minutes.

I built her website in less than 16 hours for two reasons:
1. To support a friend chasing her dream.
2. Because the business is moving that fast.

I can’t quite put into words what I experienced this past week.

I had the honor of attending Jazzy Jeff’s Playlist Retreat—an invite-only creative jam session with some of the world’s best DJs, producers, rappers, and innovators.

As someone who’s often heads down building at Twitch for all creators, this was a powerful reminder of how important it is to stay connected to music.

From hearing an unreleased Talib Kweli verse, to a conversation with DJ Red Alert about his legacy, to hearing Young Guru’s latest mix, to debating classic albums with No ID, Don Cannon, and Sound Oracle—it was nonstop inspiration.

And to top it all off, Jazzy Jeff himself greeted me at the door of his home and welcomed me into a space filled with legends—while giving me the chance to represent Twitch.

I left with a deep sense of gratitude. For the opportunity. For the community. And for the reminder that this is what it’s all about—connection, creativity, and collaboration.
