How often do we downplay our achievements in the workplace? In my experience, many women tend to shy away from celebrating their successes, fearing they might come across as arrogant or boastful. But here's the thing: recognizing and acknowledging your accomplishments is not just a self-esteem booster; it's a way to build your professional narrative. When you own your strengths and achievements, you're not only boosting your confidence but also paving the way for future opportunities. This mindset can be transformative when negotiating salaries or seeking promotions by providing tangible evidence of your value. So let's change the narrative. Start a conversation today about what you've accomplished recently—big or small—and encourage others to do the same. After all, we rise by lifting each other up!
Please give yourself a break. ❤️ If you’re burnt out from work or a job search, are you strategically including time in each day for recovery and rejuvenation? Because it will just get worse if you’re not being intentional in your self care. So… - Meditate. - Go for a walk in nature. - Look at past positive feedback you’ve received. - Make or buy yourself a small treat. - Take a relaxing bubble bath. - Spend time with people who lift you up. What is something you do for self-care? Share in the comments!
I will always celebrate another person’s success, whether or not it directly serves me. There is room for everyone to shine!

Good news deserves airtime, too! 🏡 New house? Show the keys. 🚗 New car? Record a video driving it. 🏝️ Took the dream vacation? Drop the pics. We’ve been conditioned to shrink our joy. To keep good news quiet so we don’t come off as “too much.” But here’s the truth: your wins deserve to be seen and celebrated! Sharing your success isn’t bragging, it’s owning your moment. And when we share, we give others permission to do the same. Joy is contagious. So is momentum. So the next time something amazing happens? Say it with your chest. Loudly, proudly, and without apology. There’s enough room for all of us to shine. #peopleops #hiddengem #hr

Sometimes cultural and personality fit are more important in a role than the typical qualifications like years of experience or degree. I recently spoke to a friend who is a VP of Marketing who is trying to hire for a Director of Marketing. He's interviewed a good 10 people who are qualified on paper, but hasn't found the right fit because he's looking for someone with high charisma: Someone who can excite and inspire the young professionals on his team because those employees feed off the energy of their leaders. The conversation was a testament to how you should apply to roles you don't meet all the qualifications for because skills can be taught. Personality, energy, and work ethic are harder to teach. So, here’s a little nudge for you: next time you see a job listing and feel a connection—even if you don’t check every box—go for it. You might just be the fit they didn’t even know they were searching for!
Do you talk yourself out of applying to jobs you don't meet 100% of the qualifications for? Research shows that women wait to apply for roles until they meet 100% of the qualifications, but men apply when they meet 60%. There are people with half your skills, zero hesitation, and all the confidence securing jobs they aren’t qualified for. Meanwhile, you’re waiting to be “ready.” The TRUTH: You can learn on the job just as well as any man. So STOP waiting to apply, or you'll wait forever! Meeting all the qualifications doesn't guarantee you'll get an interview or offer. It just decreases the anxiety you feel when you click "apply." Many hiring managers are looking for a cultural and personality fit, so you could be an excellent fit for the role even if you don't meet every qualification perfectly. So apply for that role you've been eyeing lady! You got this!
Why do we wait for the annual review to discuss our career growth? Proactively managing your career means taking control of your progress and not waiting for others to map it out for you. Regular check-ins with your supervisor about your accomplishments, challenges, and future goals can make all the difference. It's not just about promotions or raises; it's also about aligning your work with your values and passions. When was the last time you steered a conversation toward where you want to go? Start today by setting up that meeting or drafting an email to initiate this dialogue. Who knows what doors might open when you take the driver’s seat in these conversations?
What if I told you that the first step to mastering public speaking isn't speaking at all? 🤔 Before uttering a word, the key is in listening actively and understanding your audience. This means tuning into their needs, concerns, and interests. The most memorable speakers are those who connect on a personal level, making each person feel like they're part of a unique conversation. So next time you're preparing for a presentation or speech, spend some time getting to know your audience. Ask questions, engage with them beforehand, and tailor your message to resonate deeply. Remember, powerful communication starts with genuine connection. Ready to make your delivery unforgettable? 🌟
