Today I am giving a presentation to 50 B2B marketing leaders about something I think every CMO (and B2B company) needs to internalize:

In B2B, trust compounds long before buyers are “ready.”

The context is brutal:

- Average journey is 211 days to revenue. 

- Buyers rack up ~76 touches across ~3.7 channels. 

- Deals involve ~6.8 stakeholders. 

And marketing owns more of the journey, which makes the 95–5 rule (most buyers are out of market) impossible to ignore.

What started as a simple idea to connect marketers for sparring has now created over 300 mentorship matches and continues to help the marketing community in CPH grow 

Tonight we gathered mentors and mentees at Dreamdata to kick off the start of Marketing Connect Growth Season 6, built on curiosity, ambition, and shared learning 💡

This year 👇
32 mentors stepped in
took on 48 mentees for a 6-month journey and offered 20+ one-off coffee sessions to marketers looking for sparring and direction!

Over 6 seasons, that’s now more than 300 mentorship matches created through this initiative. 

I’m so grateful to all the mentors who have helped so many people in their journeys 💛

This kick-off reminded us that mentorship isn’t about hierarchy or advice-giving, it’s about partnership, trust, and reflection.

As Valeria Kadelski, one of the speakers of the night, said:

> “The mentee is the astronaut. The mentor is Ground Control.”

She shared the three essentials for meaningful mentorships: shared ownership, curiosity over advice, and reflection built on trust.

Christie H. Kristensen, another speaker of the night, encouraged everyone to choose your direction, and when needed, make your own. 

She spoke about building identity beyond titles, investing in personal branding, and asking better questions to move forward.

The message was clear: growth happens on both sides, mentors and mentees alike, when both show up with openness and ownership.

A huge thank you to all mentors for sharing your time, knowledge, and perspective with so many ambitious, growth-minded mentees.

And to all mentees for showing up ready to learn and grow — you are the reason this community keeps moving forward.
