Profile views aren’t creepy. They’re growth signals. Most high performers hide their profile activity. Not because they’re private. Not because they fear judgment. But because they still don’t realise visibility = opportunity. Here’s how to turn profile views into opportunities: Step 1: Treat incoming views like friendly waves When someone views your profile, they’re: - Checking out your work - Stalking your experience - Thinking about connecting If you're at a party and someone makes eye contact. Do you ignore them or say hello? (i'd probably ignore them cus I'm awkward but any normal person would say hello lol) Try this → message recent viewers with a simple opener: "Hey [Name], saw you checked out my profile. Anything on your mind?" No pressure. Just curiosity. Step 2: View profiles like leaving breadcrumbs Looking at profiles sends a subtle signal. If you do it right, people naturally check back. Who to view: - Potential clients → if you sell a service, check out decision makers at companies you want to work with - Industry leaders → viewing their profile often gets them to notice you and potentially engage with your content - Future employers → a well-placed profile view can warm them up before you apply for a role Make it a game: Spend 5 minutes twice a week viewing profiles and see how many check back. Step 3: Turn passive views into fun conversations Most profile views go nowhere. Gotta fix that. Easy ways to start conversations: 1. Post something → if recruiters are viewing your profile, post something that says "yeah i know my sh*t" 2. Send a connection request → show actual interest: "Hey [Name], really like your [thing]. How did you [outcome]?" 3. Follow up with bantz → if someone viewed you after engaging with a post, message them: "I see you lurkin around 👀" (admittedly I wouldn't do that with a total stranger lol) No awkward cold outreach. No salesy messages needed. Networking without the pressure. Most people ignore profile views. You won’t. Because you’re a perfectly normal human who is interested in building a network with other perfectly normal humans. Save this and start making LinkedIn fun (and human) again.
