This was supposed to be a cool story to share. 
 
But I flaked out. 
 
Here's what this moment taught me about life and careers: 
 
1/ Look before you leap 
 
Often, we chase goals seduced by their allure without fully understanding what we're getting into. 
 
2/ Embracing authenticity 
 
I aimed to create a video with a perfect view. Instead, I found authenticity in sharing my fear. 
 
3/ Knowing when to descend 
 
Admitting a path isn't right for you requires as much courage as starting the climb. Recognize when to take a step back. 
 
I encourage everyone to think about their own "climbs." 
 
What have you purused because it looked impressive from the ground? 
 
How did it look like when you reached the top? 
 
What did you learn about yourself in the process? 
 
Hopefully my story inspires you to embrace both your climbs and your hesitations. 
 
Remember, it's OK to go backwards.

6 Challenges You Have to Deal With as an Accountant

Being average is a superpower. 
 
I am not confident. 
 
I am not a hard worker. 
 
I certainly am not smart. 
 
And this is exactly why I am all the above. 
 
Being average freed me. 
 
No confidence = I had nothing to lose 
 
Not a hard worker = Allowed me to zero in on what actually interests me 
 
Not the smartest = Became my license to be curious, to ask questions, to learn without the fear of judgment 
 
However, what I do have 
 
Is a clear sense of purpose. 
 
Many of us feel trapped in our current roles, 
 
Resigned to what we think is our fate, 
 
Believing our "average" qualities limit us. 
 
Please do not accept that fate. 
 
Go create your version. 
 
Your "average" is your superpower. 
 
I am not special. 
 
We all have the potential to do more 
 
And be more. 
 
It is not by being someone we are not 
 
But by fully being ourselves.

For the longest time... 
 
There was one thing I desparetely wanted to avoid. 
 
Letting my LinkedIn become an extension 
 
Of my employer 
 
Rather than a reflection of myself. 
 
Of course, 
 
The firm I work for is a part of who I am, 
 
But I never wanted it to define me completely. 
 
Yet, over the past few weeks, 
 
I found myself increasingly integrating aspects of my "day job" into my posts. 
 
This initially made me question: 
 
Am I losing the personal touch I value so much? 
 
But then, something clicked. 
 
I realized my personal mission 
 
And my work mission 
 
Are not as separate as I initially thought. 
 
They are interwined. 
 
Sharing similar values and goals. 
 
That's all I could really ask for.

Let's get one thing straight. 
 
Stop being so nice. 
 
It is not worth it. 
 
Do not treat others like how you wish to be treated. 
 
Do not expect it at all. 
 
Everyone does not play by this rule. 
 
There's nice and then there is naive. 
 
You can't help everyone. 
 
You need to help yourself. 
 
Ask yourself why are you pouring yourself into others. 
 
For a thank you? 
 
For the temporary satisifcation of being the go-to helper? 
 
Not everyone deserves your time and energy. 
 
Let's redefine what it means to be nice. 
 
It's not about being at everyone's beck and call. 
 
It's about balanced kindness, 
 
Where generosity doesn't deplete you but energizes you. 
 
Be kind to yourself first. 
 
Understand it is OK to say no. 
 
You are the star. 
 
Not someone's supporting cast.

⤷ Making subtle noises to signal I want to contribute 
 
⤷ Jumping into the conversation without waiting for a perfect pause 
 
By the time a sliver of airspace opens, 
 
The topic already shifted. 
 
As of now,

Not the best solution

This LinkedIn journey is hard af.

I don't know if I am doing it "right."

Some days are fun.

Some days feel like a chore.

At some point, I got caught up in the stats...

...impressions, followers, likes, comments.

It became easy to slip into the trap of comparing myself to others.

Questioning my worth and the value of my contributions.

Then came the realization:

The game of likes and engagement isn't always what it seems.

Likes can be bought.

Comments can be outsourced.

Reposts can be manufactured.

I decided to take a step back.

I'm brushing my ego aside.

Time to listen to John Kraski 

And just be me

If the LinkedIn algo doesn't like it

Then so be it

I'm here to inspire and empower you

My hope is that

My message will find its way to you when you need it most

Is pushing your team to work longer hours the secret to skyrocketing productivity and profitability?
