For more than two decades I worked at the crossroads of film, print, event, and marketing: ➳ I launched a movie script development agency, ➳ a print magazine, and the first ➳ app developer conference back in the days when Steve Ballmer still laughed about the iPhone. But my main business for ten+ years was owning and managing an event location, Academie Lounge, whose main attraction was the Berlin International Film Festival. In 2012 I hit a wall 😵, I had run out of ideas and lost my interest in the business. Something had to change. I had to change. And I needed to make room for something new in my life. I started by selling everything I owned, ➳ my books, ➳ my furniture, ➳ and my apartment. And when I had reduced my personal belongings to two suitcases, I started a life as a digital nomad. In 2016 I sold my business and I moved to London. Over the next years I worked as a fractional CMO with numerous startups and organisations. The problem I encountered in all of them was always the same: the marketing sucked. ➳ The marketing team struggled to create good content. ➳ The founder was frustrated that marketing failed to predictably deliver leads. ➳ And the marketing team was frustrated because nothing seemed to work. By lucky chance, I discovered how fix all of this when I successfully built an online member subscription community. This is how I discovered how to use your customers to create quality content. And how this quality content can attract more of your ideal, target customers that in turn create more content. 🎯 This experience was pivotal for me. Everything that I had done in the past 20 years came together: ➳ storytelling, ➳ film, ➳ print, and ➳ digital marketing. Today, I know that building a community is a brilliant way to serve people while developing and honing a product the customers truly want. And to do this with a proven process makes life so much easier. My mission is to give people like business coaches, thought leaders, authors, and innovators a system that connects them with their ideal audience, ultimately building them a marketing and sales funnel that makes them money and is fun to run.
