It's specifically designed for use with Gemini for Workspace, but it includes:

Gemini for Google Workspace Prompting Guide

A few things I've learnt at 46,105 followers
(I was going to wait until 50k but I need a rant)

Let's start with the bad, and finish with the good, so we end on a positive note. 

👎 The Bad 

People think as you've got a lot of followers, you're some form of robot instead of a human with feelings.   I get really spiky, mean comments/DMs sometimes. I just got one and it's really knocked me off kilter. 

It's addictive.  I'm on it way too much and struggle not to keep checking and checking for that little red notification sign.

The endless need to produce engaging content can be really draining.  It's a lot of pressure when trying to run a business, which is now on my own. I'm learning the odd week of no content is absolutely OK. 

It's competitive.  No matter how much you rationalise, you always end up looking at those with more followers, more engagement, better content, and thinking "I'm crap compared to them, what's the point?". 


👍 The Good

I calculated I've made over £1m on here, without a penny spent on ads.

I've formed a network of Women in AI, in a world dominated by "tech bros", I couldn't have done that without LinkedIn.  

On the whole, it's a really supportive place. People regularly take the time to send lovely messages about enjoying my stuff with zero agenda.  I love those. I keep them all in a document for times like now, when I'm off kilter.

I've made proper mates here. Make the effort to meet up in real life if you like someone and live nearby. This is an excellent place to make new, real friends that "get it".

I regularly have sales calls with people saying "I feel like I know you!" - what a powerful way to begin.  My conversion rates from LinkedIn are super high.

The doors that have been opened are unbelievable.  Huge enterprise brands. International magazines. Global travel. I'm speaking at an event for the House or Lords in an hour.  

It's an emotional rollercoaster, this place.  But I'll be sticking around.  
(I'd just better learn to thicken my skin a bit.)

The answer is: 

It completely depends on what you'll use it for. 

Here's my personal rating of each of the "Big 6" - the paid versions.

PS If I had to pick one, and I was a beginner, it's hands-down ChatGPT.  It's a great all-rounder with loads of great functions.

The Big AI Chatbots

Here's my 22-step guide to prompting properly
(It works for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.)

Although these tools use conversational language...
it doesn't mean they don't have rules.

🤖  Tell AI what role it's going to play 
🤖  Give it examples of what you're looking for 
🤖  Be really clear and specific 

Yes you can get a response writing anything at all.

But if you don't know the rules, you'll get crap results.
Or worse - the same results as everyone else.

There IS a learning curve to AI, it's not as intuitive as people lead you to believe.  But it's well worth putting the effort in as the possibilities are infinite.

Yesterday, I got together some of the best AI voices in the world:

🌎 That's the UK, Germany, Canada, USA and Singapore all represented.

I started by asking them what they thought about this recent quote: 

"Oh, for that? It will mean that 95% of what marketers use agencies, strategists, and creative professionals for today will easily, nearly instantly and at almost no cost be handled by the AI — and the AI will likely be able to test the creative against real or synthetic customer focus groups for predicting results and optimising. Again, all free, instant, and nearly perfect. Images, videos, campaign ideas? No problem."

As they started their enthused replies, Jo had to interrupt. 

"Stop!" she said. "This stuff is too good!! We should be sharing this!"

First, they generate a static image of a face using AI. 
They then add a real clip of someone speaking. 

The new technology animates the face, creating hyper realistic videos from just one image.

They can control individual elements of the video, including eye gaze direction and emotional state.

Thankfully, there's no plan to release this technology to the public, as clearly it would be exceptionally dangerous. 

But does that stop other, less responsible people from mimicking what they've done?

Challenge 1: Handling the volume of content creation and production
Solution: I'm building relationships with strong, credible experts to contribute

Solution: Learning to separate LinkedIn and site content out properly

Challenge 3: Getting stuck regularly with the Learnworlds site and techie stuff 
Solution: Blocking time to watch tutorials and upskill properly

Challenge 4: Being obsessed with learning content meant I neglected the site copy and UX itself 
Solution: Dial up the charm with John Harrison and see if he'll help me 😉 

Challenge 5: Defining our audience - are they who I predicted? 
Solution: Time will tell, it's early days.  I'll keep analysing

Personally, despite being Generative AI* obsessed, I only use 4-5 tools daily. 

1. Motion, to manage my diary 
2. Sybill, to manage my calls 
3. Claude, to help me brainstorm content 
4. Humanlinker, to help me research prospects 
5. Perplexity, to help me research

The rest I use on an 'as and when' basis.  
Including ChatGPT.

"Ode to AI LinkedIn Comments"

Oh LinkedIn, a professional realm,
With insight and connection at the helm

But alas, a scourge has taken hold,
AI comments, bland and cold.

Copy-pasted without a thought,
Soulless words, meaning naught.

"Great post!" exclaimed with faux glee,
Echoed ad nauseum, a vapid spree.

No depth, no substance, just empty praise,
Cluttering posts and feeds for days.

Their own engagement may soar,
But their authenticity is no more.

Oh, how I yearn for thoughtful reflection,
Insightful dialogue and true connection.

Let us banish these bot-penned refrains,
And engage with sincerity, using our brains.

🚨 NEW: HeyGen have released "URL to UGC"
Realistic influencer-style videos in minutes 😱 

All you do is this: 

1. Paste a URL to your product, service, website
2. Pick your script
3. Pick your "influencer" video type

A few minutes and...BANG.

= A full on influencer-style video, with AI avatar. 

I picked my brand/shade of red hair dye as an example, using the Amazon product URL. 

👍 The Good

The video itself looks verrrry realistic, they've nailed the whole TikTok user-generated content vibe.

👎 The Bad

Repetitive actions by the "influencer" - that lip balm application looks really odd when done twice.
  
Also, the old 'random eye roll' situation. I had this problem when I first recorded my own digital twin. They end up looking MOODY. (It's caused by looking up too much during the training video). 

With a bit of fine tuning, it would be very believable.

The main thing I'm struggling with is the purpose of this tech. 

The appeal of User Generated Content is that it is a real person creating it, isn't it?

Whether or not they're being paid to do it, the point is that they're endorsing it, so we're meant to think: "hmm, they like it, and I like them, so maybe I will like it too". 

If that person isn't real, where is the value of the endorsement?

#44: Astonishing AI Therapy, Avatars with Emotions, Batman Dog

Google's Gemini just messed up repeatedly.
When I pointed it out, it gave me a passive aggressive reply. 

I copy/pasted its reply and asked:

"Could this phrase be deemed passive aggressive?"

It said yes, it is. And told me why. 

Then it gave me advice on how to be less passive aggressive in MY communications. 

Is AI going to kill marketing as we know it?
