𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻—𝗔 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆, 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 I recently had the opportunity to use my facilitation skills to lead a workshop on LinkedIn, and it was an incredible experience! While I don’t consider myself an expert, I believe in the power of learning through doing—and this was a big step in my journey as a facilitator. Facilitation isn’t just about leading a session; it’s about creating engagement, fostering connections, and making space for meaningful conversations. Throughout this workshop, I learned just as much from the participants as they (hopefully) learned from me. This experience reminded me that growth happens outside our comfort zones. You don’t have to be perfect to share what you know—you just have to be willing to show up, contribute, and keep improving. Ever wondered what the secret sauce to a high-performing team is? It's not just skills or processes—it's trust. In our quest for efficiency and productivity, we often overlook the subtle, yet powerful, ingredient of trust. Building it isn't instantaneous; it's a gradual process that requires consistent effort and conscious awareness. It starts with understanding each other’s strengths and weaknesses, fostering open communication, and creating a safe environment where everyone feels valued. When team members trust one another, collaboration becomes seamless, innovation flows naturally, and performance reaches new heights. Have you been part of a team where trust transformed the dynamics? How did it impact your work?

🎤 Facilitation Is Purpose in Action As a facilitator, my purpose isn’t to have all the answers—it’s to create the space where the best answers emerge. ✨ It’s about guiding conversations that matter, unlocking insights 💡, and empowering people to take action. 🚀 Purpose isn’t a destination—it’s how we show up, ask better questions ❓, and help others see what’s possible. Facilitate with purpose. Lead with purpose. The impact will follow. 🔥 #Facilitation 🎤 #PurposeDriven 💡 #Leadership 🚀 #CreatingImpact

𝗚𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵. 🙏 At the end of every facilitation session, I encourage participants to reflect—not just on what they’ve learned, but on who or what they are grateful for in their journey. Sometimes it’s easy to overlook the people or moments that have helped us get to where we are, but when we take a moment to acknowledge them, it shifts our perspective. I ask participants to think about three key insights they’ve gained from the session and then identify one concrete action they’ll take. But before that, I guide them to pause and look for someone or something they can feel thankful for—whether it’s a supportive colleague, a moment of inspiration, or even their own determination. This exercise does more than help solidify learning—it builds an attitude of gratitude that empowers them to move forward with clarity and purpose. It’s amazing how this simple shift in focus can spark energy and drive. By the end, participants walk away not only with practical steps but with a heart full of gratitude that fuels their next chapter of growth. #Gratitude #Facilitation #Leadership #Growth #ActionableInsights #Reflection #Empowerment #Mindset #Thankfulness

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝘆𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 💪 Hybrid facilitation can be a tough balancing act, but through preparation and quick adjustments, I was able to tackle the common hurdles head-on. Here's how I dealt with it: 🔧 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀: We all know that tech can be unpredictable. To avoid disruptions, I ensured everything was tested beforehand—microphones, video calls, and screen sharing. When a glitch did occur, I had a backup plan ready to go, allowing me to quickly get things back on track without missing a beat. 🧠 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: It’s easy for virtual participants to feel disconnected, especially when in-person groups dominate the conversation. I made a point to use interactive tools like polls, chats, and direct calls for virtual input. By intentionally rotating between groups, I kept everyone engaged, making sure no one felt like an afterthought. 🤝 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: With a mix of in-person and virtual attendees, keeping everyone actively involved required a little finesse. I noticed when certain voices weren’t being heard, so I facilitated with purpose—calling on individuals, creating breakout sessions, and encouraging more interaction to balance the engagement. 👀 𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝘂𝗲𝘀: In a hybrid setting, reading the room can be challenging. But I remained extra vigilant, checking in with virtual participants to make sure they were following along and feeling engaged. I’d ask for feedback frequently and make adjustments as needed to ensure no one felt left out. ⏰ 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Hybrid sessions can easily run off schedule, so I kept a sharp eye on the clock. I allotted time for both groups to share their thoughts and created clear time blocks for activities. This ensured that neither group felt rushed or neglected, maintaining a balanced flow. ⚖️ 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Ensuring everyone felt equally involved was one of my main priorities. I designed activities that fostered interaction for both virtual and in-person participants. I also used breakout rooms to give remote attendees a chance to connect more intimately, creating an environment where both groups felt on equal footing. By staying flexible and being mindful of each participant’s experience, I was able to successfully manage the complexities of hybrid facilitation. It's all about preparation, active engagement, and a focus on inclusivity. #HybridFacilitation #Leadership #TeamEngagement #RemoteWork #InclusiveLeadership #FacilitationSkills

When a Podcast Turns Into a Plot Twist 🎙️😅 So, I recently agreed to be a guest on The Bible Says What!? podcast. I love having deep conversations, especially about faith and leadership, so I thought—why not? Well… plot twist. 😳 About 10 minutes in, I realized the podcast wasn’t exactly aligned with my beliefs. In fact, it was very much challenging them. At that moment, I had a choice: shut down or lean in. As a facilitator, I’ve learned that discomfort is where the magic happens. Growth doesn’t come from avoiding tough conversations—it comes from engaging with them, even when it feels awkward. So, I stayed. I shared my perspective. I listened. I held my ground. Then, the episode aired… and let’s just say, the internet had some thoughts. 😂 The hate comments rolled in, and for a second, I wondered—was this a mistake? But then I remembered an important truth: 👉🏼 Being a leader means standing firm in your values, even when you’re the only one in the room who believes them. We don’t always get to choose the spaces we find ourselves in, but we do get to choose how we show up. And that’s the lesson—whether in a podcast, a boardroom, or a tough family discussion, facilitating isn’t about control; it’s about presence. So, if you’re curious (or just want to see me navigate the fire 😆), here’s the episode: https://lnkd.in/gaiP9uk5 Ever found yourself in an oops moment like this? How did you handle it? Let’s talk. 👇🏽 #Leadership #Faith #Facilitation #Growth

Sometimes, a single experience can change everything. For me, that moment happened at an XChange event led by Jon Berghoff I had always been drawn to leadership and personal growth, but watching Jon Berghoff facilitate that session was a game-changer. He wasn’t just leading a discussion—he was creating a space where every voice mattered, every idea had value, and the energy in the room was electric. That day, I fell in love with facilitation—not as a concept but as a powerful tool for transformation. The way John used the XChange framework to guide the group, unlock insights, and spark real engagement opened my eyes to what’s possible when you lead with questions instead of answers, strengths instead of problems, and collaboration instead of control. Because of that event, I: ✅ Embraced facilitation as a core part of my career and mission. ✅ Deepened my understanding of Appreciative Inquiry, shifting from fixing to amplifying. ✅ Saw firsthand the power of XChange in creating breakthrough moments. ✅ Discovered my passion for helping teams unlock their full potential. John didn’t just facilitate a session—he lit a fire in me that changed my career trajectory. And for that, I’ll always be grateful. Who’s the person that helped you see your path more clearly? Tag them and let them know. 🚀 #XChange #Facilitation #AppreciativeInquiry #Leadership #GameChanger #Gratitude

𝗔 𝗛𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝘆: 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝘆 𝗪𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 One of my greatest hidden joys is something I never expected—working alongside my wife, Christina Llerena, in our ministry, Boundless Love, Inc (Nonprofit Ministry) Sharing life with your partner is one thing, but sharing a mission—helping couples prepare for a strong, thriving, and faith-filled marriage—is a whole new level of fulfillment. Through talks, workshops, and facilitation, Christina and I get to dive deep with couples who are eager to build a solid foundation of love, trust, and understanding before saying “I do.” And let’s be honest—marriage is beautiful, but it’s also hard work. Too often, couples step into this lifelong commitment without the tools to navigate its inevitable challenges. That’s why we’re so passionate about this work—because we’ve seen firsthand how intentional preparation can transform relationships. Our passion for this mission led us to write and publish our book, 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲: 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗜𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀. This isn’t just another relationship book—it’s packed with real-life insights, practical exercises, and faith-driven principles to help couples communicate better, resolve conflicts, and build a marriage that lasts. We poured our hearts into it, and every time we see it impact a couple’s journey, it reaffirms why we do what we do. 💡 Here’s what I’ve learned from facilitating these conversations: ✅ Connection is everything—strong marriages are built on more than just love; they require deep, intentional connection. ✅ Communication is a skill—one that needs to be learned, practiced, and refined over time. ✅ Growth never stops—a thriving marriage is one where both partners are committed to evolving together. The best part? I get to do this alongside Christina, my partner in life and in purpose. There’s nothing better than growing together while helping others do the same. Now, I’d love to hear from you! 📌 If you’re married, what’s one thing that has strengthened your relationship? 📌 If you’re preparing for marriage, what’s your biggest question or challenge? Drop your thoughts in the comments—let’s make this a conversation! 👇 #BoundlessLove #MarriageMinistry #Facilitation #Relationships #HealingYourMarriage #FaithInMarriage #LoveAndGrowth

☕ How to Maintain Your Energy Level as a YETI Mug of Coffee as a facilitator ❄️⚡ As a facilitator, your energy fuels the room. You set the tone, the rhythm, and the engagement. But let’s be real—without the right strategies (and maybe a strong YETI mug of coffee), keeping that high-energy presence can be a challenge. So, how do you stay on top of your game without burning out? Here’s my YETI approach to maintaining energy while leading powerful sessions: ❄️ Y - Your Energy Sets the Tone Before you even step into the session, check your energy. Whether it’s a morning workout, deep breathing, or a strong cup of coffee—how you show up dictates how others engage. ⚡ E - Engage with Purpose Facilitation isn’t about speaking at people—it’s about drawing them in. Read the room, create interactive moments, and balance high-energy bursts with reflection time. 🚀 T - Tactically Manage Your Flow Energy isn’t about going full throttle all the time. Use movement, humor, and strategic silence to keep engagement high without exhausting yourself. Know when to push and when to pull back. 🔥 I - Invest in Recovery Great facilitators don’t just deliver—they recharge. Stay hydrated, fuel up with the right foods (not just caffeine!), and schedule downtime post-session. Energy management is key to longevity. 💡 YETI TIP: Let the Group Carry the Energy You don’t have to do all the heavy lifting! Get participants moving, contributing, and engaging with each other. The more they interact, the less you have to overexert yourself. Being a great facilitator is like being a great YETI mug of coffee—strong, steady, and built to last. ☕❄️ 🚀 Want to elevate your facilitation skills? Let’s connect! I help leaders and teams master the art of facilitation, engagement, and energy management. Drop a comment or DM me to chat! #Facilitation #Leadership #YETIMug #EnergyManagement #PositiveLeadershipAcademy

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺 At a recent marriage conference, my wife (Christina Llerena, MSW) and I stood in front of 300 couples, ready to share insights on strengthening relationships. But instead of just talking at the audience, we did something different—we turned the spotlight on them. Using Appreciative Inquiry, we shifted from a traditional talk to an interactive experience: 🔹 We asked powerful questions that made couples reflect. 🔹 We invited them to share their own insights and experiences. 🔹 We created space for real conversations, not just lectures. What happened next was transformational. The room came alive—couples weren’t just listening, they were engaging, contributing, and connecting with each other on a deeper level. 🔥 Before: A standard talk. ✨ After: A collective exchange of wisdom, where everyone left not just with our message, but with each other’s experiences and insights. When 300 People Showed Up on Zoom… and I Wasn't Ready 😳🎤 Picture this: My first BIG facilitation gig on Zoom. I log in, expecting a manageable group… and suddenly, BOOM—300 faces staring at me. 😱 At first, I thought, "Okay, I got this." Then the chat exploded, breakout rooms needed managing, someone was stuck on mute (of course), and another person somehow shared their entire desktop, including their inbox. 🤦‍♂️ That’s when I learned the #1 Rule of Virtual Facilitation: ALWAYS have a co-facilitator! 🆘 Why? Because: ✅ They save you when tech chaos strikes. 🔥💻 ✅ They manage chat so you’re not reading 50 messages while talking. 📩 ✅ They help keep the energy up when you’re secretly panicking. 😂 Now, I never run a big session solo. Lesson learned. Facilitation is a team sport! Who’s been your lifesaving co-facilitator? Tag them and show some love! ❤️ #FacilitationFails 😂 #ZoomChaos #LessonsLearned #Teamwork #Leadership

In my mid-thirties, I had a heart attack that changed everything for me. I was caught up in juggling work, family, and life’s demands, thinking I could push through it all. But my body had a different message, and it was a wake-up call I couldn’t ignore. That experience taught me one of the most important lessons I’ve learned: self-care is not optional. I had been giving so much to others and nothing to myself, and I realized I needed to prioritize my own well-being. Since then, I’ve made self-care a priority in my life. Whether it’s taking time to rest, eating better, or just creating space for myself to breathe, I know that to be my best for others, I first need to be my best for myself. We can’t keep pouring from an empty cup. Taking care of yourself isn’t just about your health—it’s about your mental and emotional well-being, too. If you’re not caring for yourself, you’re doing a disservice to everything and everyone you care about. Take care of you, because you matter. 💙 #SelfCare #Wellbeing #MentalHealth #Balance #Health #Leadership #PersonalGrowth
