Entrepreneurship Unveiled number 31: How a simple 10,000-Daily Step Goal Taught Me Time, Energy, and Creative Focus.

At the beginning of 2025, I made a simple promise to myself: finish the year with an average of 10,000 steps per day.

A few years back, when activity trackers like Fitbit, Jawbone, or Misfit (a company I had the chance to work with briefly) first recommended 10,000 steps as a daily goal, I was intrigued—but life, work, and family often took priority. In 2024, I averaged around 7,000 steps a day. This year, I wanted to rebalance health and work without compromising family time.

Fast forward to December 31, 2025—my average daily steps reached 10,514. 🎉

The journey wasn’t just about walking and running. It forced me to rethink time management: taking calls while walking, fitting in runs a few times a week in early mornings after school drop off, and being more intentional with movement. Weight loss wasn’t dramatic, but the wins were significant:

More energy throughout the day
Improved mood and motivation at work
Creative thinking fueled by long walks
Time to explore podcasts and learning opportunities

For 2026, the plan is to surpass 11,000 daily steps and incorporate bodyweight exercises to balance strength alongside cardio.

The bigger lesson? Starting the year with ambitious goals—whether health, personal, or business—isn’t hard. The real challenge and reward is consistency and persistence.
