Promptly slaps Company XYZ's logo on his website & social profiles.
Implying that Company XYZ was A's client. 

It wasn't.

And yes, not everyone, not everywhere, yada yada. 
I know.

I'm not happy about this. 
I wish my home were more dynamic.
But I play my part - by trying to bring some of the US dynamism to European clients (and helping them get clients in the US). 

Evidence bears this out. 
America still sets the terms & the bar for business excellence. 
All trillion dollar companies are American. (except Saudi Aramco, AI told me)
The stories of Elon, Zuck, Bezos, Huang - even Hormozi? --> only possible in the US.

Even if the prospect's objection sounds illogical, irrational - even silly
...you treat it with the utmost earnestness. 

Think about it: 
They just met you. 
They know very little about you. 
And here you are, asking for their hard-earned cash. 

Sure, you made a good impression. 
But still... they JUST met you. 

Their objections are shields of protection. 
Very understandable, perfectly natural.
Sure, most of them are not true.
❌ "I need to think about it" is a lie. In 99% of cases, they have made up their mind. 
❌ "I want to talk to my partner" is a lie. They will just tell them "I met this person, tried to sell me sth. What do you think? Meh? Meh."
❌ "I'll let you know by tomorrow eob" is also, very often, a lie. You were so un-memorable, they'll have forgotten you by tomorrow. 

𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭.
I used to feel personally offended, let down, upset, when I felt that their objection was a lie.

But here's what "unreasonable empathy" means

👉 You treat their objection, not them, as the enemy to defeat. 👈

You get to work on it together. 
You explore what in your offer COULD work for them.
You discuss how you could protect them from the downsides. 
You help them realize that this pattern of delaying keeps them trapped. 

Together, you defeat the enemy.

You're pitching Broke, Emotional Newbies.

Those "bad offers" still work - but they work on an unsophisticated crowd. 
🐣 Newbies. 
🥹 Emotional buyers
🧢 New kids on the block

...i.e. people who want the certainty that their goal will come to pass.
Who look at you as their savior.
And who will blame you if they don't succeed.

With the approach Nick introduces
(more input-driven, infrastructure-focused, predictability-assuring)
...he polarizes his audience towards
🧔‍♂️ mature 
👨‍💼 business owners
💵 ...with money. 

A crowd that scoffs at the idea of "50 leads a week" or a certain revenue outcome. 

Here's why:
1) They get slightly irritated by the presumption - you don't know their business, so how can you be so confident. 
2) They don't know your method - and it's not worth their time to inquire because 9 times out of 10, the method is bland and meh
3) They sense you sell to unsophisticated buyers, so they will treat you as below them in the pecking order. Picture a Gucci-wearer seeing a bazar vendor sell knockoff Nikes to an eager crowd. Repulsive.
4) And because you don't share much about your technical knowledge, they don't expect to learn much from you.

By taking Nick's approach, you're positioning yourself as a knowledgeable expert. 

By taking the "we get you 100 leads / month", you're just a body to throw at the problem. 

Replaceable, unmemorable. 

In your next cold outreach campaign, consider selling 
✅ predictable infrastructure
instead of
❌ lofty outcomes

And let's see what kind of crowd that'll attract.

Networking is like living on welfare. 

It's OK (for a while) to get through a tough phase.

But it's a bad way to live long term. 

There are 4 ways to book sales calls (in B2B services, that is)
Implement them in the right order 👇

1. Networking
Makes total sense early on. 
Get your first 5-10 clients that way. 
But aim to get the hell away from it as soon as possible. 

Why? 

It's not scalable - it'll always require you. 
You'll be a bore to your network. 

Networking = life support. 
Don't stretch it out. 


2. Cold Outreach
Cold email, Cold calling, Cold DMing
Make sure your offer works on cold audiences. 
Cracking this code will make life SO much easier later on, you'll see. 


3. Content
A good side dish.
Not a good main dish if you're below $1m / year.
Content amplifies what's good already. 
Hormozi didn't do content until he was a multi-millionaire. 
Content serves as validation to show to people you know what you're doing. 
The idea is: 
Outreach --> People are mildly interested, go check out your LinkedIn / YouTube --> They think "oh, wow, this guy/gal isn't half stupid, let's talk to him/her" --> book a call. 

4. Ads
You're at $1m/year with outreach & content
NOW you have the spare cash ($30-50k) to make ads profitable. 

Don't swap the order. 
Don't get too comfortable with networking & referrals. It's a trap
Don't rely on content as a lead source. You need a LOT of talent / luck to get to 7 figures with just content. 
Don't start ads before you're at LEAST at $50k/mo and have $50k of play money in the bank

Outreach is the place to start, once you have had a few success stories. 

That's a hill I'll die on.

"Disrupting the XYZ industry"

Makes $4k / month. 

The delusion is breathtaking.
People publicly stating their wild aspirations of grandeur, all the while their corporate-job spouse pays for groceries. 

I know, I know. 
You're supposed to disrupt, upend, revolutionize. 
Completely reshuffle the cards of your industry. 

Because that's what you heard VCs want.
Because you've been told to have "world-changing" goals.

But this hubris is leading to your downfall.
Because 👉 you haven't earned the role of disruptor yet👈

You're like my cousin who wanted to write novels but scoffed at the idea of learning to write well. Working with a mentor. Learning the craft of writing. 

The result? 
An unreadable, half-finished, unpublished 76-page stream of consciousness, and the conviction that the world isn't ready for his genius.

What's a better approach? 
--> Humility & service
--> Admitting you know very little
--> Willingness to learn the details of your industry
--> Being a craftsman before aspiring to be an artist

How about, instead of "disrupting" an industry
...you make a lot of money in it first? 

Your disruptive aspirations will be far more credible 
...after you've run circles around its Top Dogs in the pre-disruption era

Stop disrupting, revolutionizing, transforming, upending
Start learning & serving.

The main reason people fail with Cold Email:

--> They give up too early.


If you haven't cris-crossed your Total Addressable Market 5 times
And tested 20 different hook-angle combinations

...don't you dare saying "Cold email doesn't work for me"

That's like practicing piano for an hour and saying 
"Well, I guess Rachmaninov's 3rd isn't for me"

Cold outreach is just like anything else: 
You get good at it.
Don't just give it a shot or two. 
Just like there is infinite nuance on your craft, 
...there is the difference between broke-ness and a 7 figure business if you figure out cold outreach.

Don't give up too soon. 
The practice is worth the concerto.

Good money rule of thumb:

Screw Work Life Balance before you're @ 7 figures net worth. 

I know this isn't popular. 
But then, reaching a 7 figure net worth isn't popular, either.

(HAVING it - that's popular
WORKING towards it and REACHING it through effort - not popular)

For me, this means
1) No vices. All selfish enjoyment must go*
2) Enough high-quality sleep is not a luxury or a vice. 
3) There are only 2 things: Family & The Goal. (Family comes first.)
4) No time spent with people who aren't supportive of The Goal.
5) Any time I spend away from my Family must be spent working towards The Goal.
6) Don't have arguments ("Yea but...") with any of the above with anyone (including your lesser self whispering at you that it's ok to have that donut)

I think that from the moment you start taking this seriously
...it shouldn't take longer than 2-5 years, depending on your current skillset.

... that's like b1tching about your significant other. 

Worse. 
Because with the wife, you don't really have influence over her behavior
With your business, you do. 

So not only are you showcasing your complainy nature
...but also your impotence and low agency.

Go from complainer mode
...to builder mode. 

Sure, there's a lot of things to work on. 
So identify the current biggest bottleneck
And work on it until it's gone

Then move to the next one
And accept the others
Neutrally, dispassionately

Here's the parallel between business ownership and marriage:
--> Marry your business & commit to it. 
--> Stop ogling attractive alternatives
--> Stop complaining about it 

You'll be surprised at how good your relationship with it will become.
