At TIMA Designs I conceptualised the design and development of the Tima Designs fashion label focused on feminine, sophisticated, chic and elegant fashion pieces for the corporate and glamorous woman.

Managing all aspects of the business from design, production and quality assurance to sales, marketing and distribution provided the opportunity to understand the intricacies and nuances of small business development in a highly competitive industry.

The business success was based on a commitment to quality and integrity of design and an innate understanding of the fashion needs of the corporate woman.  This is reflected in the label being stocked in a number of high-end fashion boutiques across Melbourne.

Additionally, in my work I delivered presentations to audiences that included:

•	International Women’s Day – “A World of Fashion”  -a presentation on running 2 businesses in   fashion and financial planning and how to achieve success.
•	Inspirational Women Program on Foxtel, an interview discussion on combining fashion, business and financial planning.

Responsible for leading the Dandenong Chapter of Heart Link, a women’s networking group focused on linking resources, new ideas, products and services amongst professional women.

As a Senior Business Financial Planner I was recruited to build and grow the financial planning services of the Dandenong Business Centre.

•	Business Development: Established trust and respect across the banking division, opening channels of communication and ensuring excellence in customer service to internal and external stakeholders which resulted in the considerable growth and contribution of the financial planning division across the Business Centre.

•	Revenue Generation: Steadily achieved growth in clients and portfolio revenue ensuring consistent ranking in the ANZ Top 20 Business Financial Planner leader board.

•	Business Succession Planning: Identified and developed the opportunity to provide Business Succession planning as an additional service/product for the business.

•	Professional Development: Nominated by senior management to complete the SMSF course.

•	Customer Service Standards: I assisted with the development and creation of the Statement of Advice layout for the business client, working across the compliance team to ensure that it was a user friendly and functional planning tool.

•	Management: I was regularly appointed to the acting manager role, responsible for leading and building on the team performance.  In line with this, I participated in a number of management meetings at a state and national level focused on developing the service delivery and product range of the financial planning division.

Senior Business Financial Planner

Initially appointed into the Business Direct Division I was subsequently promoted to the Commercial Banking providing strategic financial planning advice to small to medium enterprises.

•	Customer Service: I was consistently recognised for my ability to build rapport and trust with a diverse network of clients from sole traders to larger enterprises with increasing complexity of financial planning requirements.

•	Stakeholder Management: Established a strong network of referral/business partners including Relationship Managers, Investment Bankers, Merchant Bankers etc. with recognition for ensuring a collaborative focus on achieving the most optimal outcome for clients.

•	“Ruby Network” Champion: I was highly involved in the “Ruby Network” for Women in Business, delivering presentations and co-ordinating events to educate women on financial planning, particularly in the areas of superannuation, self-managed super funds, insurance and business growth/protection.

Business Financial Planner

As Business Development Manager I was recruited to build the broker network from a zero base.

Professional Contributions

Business Development: Through persistence, determination and excellence in customer service established a dynamic network of brokers that delivered outstanding revenue growth for the business. 

Sales: Consistently achieved high sales results and supported the organisation in the development and marketing of financial products responsive to the market needs.

In 2018, I made a big decision. After 16 + years in financial planning, I decided it was time for a change - not because I had the next big thing lined up, but because I felt a deeper calling. 

I wanted to create something that was truly mine, something that could make a real difference. 

So, I sold my financial planning business and took a leap into the unknown.

My journey began with a podcast. The goal? To inspire and educate, to touch lives in a meaningful way. It was a new chapter, one that brought me to LinkedIn to share my thoughts and connect with others. Little did I know, a simple video post in April 2018 would turn everything upside down. 

Suddenly, companies big and small were reaching out, drawn to the unique blend of my corporate background and this fresh, authentic approach I was taking on LinkedIn.

It was a lightbulb moment. The corporate world was hungry for genuine connection, for personal branding that resonated on a human level. 

So, I founded a new venture focused on just that. Helping leaders and entrepreneurs across the globe build powerful personal brands on LinkedIn became my new mission.

Fast forward to today, I've had the privilege of hosting the most successful entrepreneurs on my podcast, speaking at events worldwide, and most importantly, guiding others to find their purpose and voice online.

WHAT I DO: I help entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs & C-Suite executives converge their emotional intelligence with their social presence so that they can become “Thought Leaders” in their niche and ultimately create a lasting impact on people’s lives.

WHY I DO THIS:  I am determined to help people find that inner “greatness”. We all have this “greatness” inside of us. Not only do I help my clients find their greatness, I help them reconnect with their “why” so that they can speak through their PURPOSE.

WHAT MAKES ME UNIQUE:  The reason why I have been so successful is because I am focusing on my own “greatness” as well as leveraging my “natural gifts” which include communication, education, inspiration and impact. 

THE RESULTS:  As a result, I have grown my network from 500 to 25,000 + in < 3 months, with 2 Million + views on my content, with organic reach, an engaged community (who are advocates of my mission) but most importantly have resulted in quality in-bound leads into my business that has helped my business grown exponentially.

Just finished Eid dinner with my beautiful family. 

One thing I know for sure is that I could take my Baba to a highly recommended restaurant and he'll always find something to playfully critique about the food - not genuinely complaining, but missing my Mama’s homemade food 😂.  He is not wrong as nothing compares to be honest. 

Meanwhile my Mama, having tirelessly cooked for an entire month of Ramadan, loved not having to cook and being served and doted on. 

These moments are what I cherish most. 

Surrounded by blessings - being with family, able to eat, dress up and celebrate Eid.  It was hard not to feel a weight in my heart, feeling a deep sense of guilt knowing there are those suffering in Palestine.

Their resilience and faith have taught me to draw closer to God each day.

My beautiful Baba has had 7 strokes since 2020.

Beginning with his first in December of 2020, followed by four more within five months.

Despite the permanent changes in his life, Baba's spirit remains unbroken.

He always responds with "Alhamdulillah, this is what God wants for me" when I ask him how he feels after everything.

My Baba can still speak however it's extremely slow, heavy and his voice sounds different.  

He also tires very quickly when he talks and prefers to remain silent unless it's necessary to speak.

It's hard to describe how much I miss hearing his actual voice. A couple of months ago, I accidentally called my Baba’s phone (I usually WhatsApp video call him), and it instantly diverted to voicemail. I burst into tears because I missed his voice so much.

I avoid calling his phone directly - the thought of his voicemail greeting me with the voice I haven’t heard in a full conversation in over four years is too painful. 

So, I opt for WhatsApp video calls, ensuring I won't have to face his voicemail if he can’t pick up.

I often think back to when I was a young girl and how I viewed my Baba as the strongest man in the world. I still do. 

I believed no one could mess with me because my Baba was just a call away - whether it was to pick me up, help with my car, or make my favorite Zaatar and Laban sandwich.

When I ask Baba what he misses the most, he says that he misses, "going to the market to buy fruit and vegetables." So, of course, I am his personal chauffeur and take him to the market. 

He buys so much that it always manages to upset Mama, which is quite funny 🤣

Even though I know some of the best routes, I still ask him for directions when I drive him around. You see, he used to be a taxi driver, and so I still want him to feel that I need his guidance with something he loves - driving. 

His directions admittedly drive me crazy at times as he always chooses the longer route to avoid tolls.

The most humbling lesson for me after everything my Baba has ensured.

He has never once complained. Not even once.

There are so many lessons in my beautiful Baba’s resilience.

To accept what has come his way and to continue striving, doing his best while being grateful and thankful to God at the same time.

I am eternally grateful for my beautiful Baba 🤍


During the pandemic, I realised I was not one to follow the crowd.

To simply accept and do as I was told without questioning anything, felt off.

I was brought up on critical thinking. Question what doesn’t feel right.

Do my own research, then decide for myself.

So naturally, blindly following orders was not an option.

Years later, I am proud of my conviction. 

Aligning my decisions with my values has proven how easily we can be deceived if we choose to ignore our values (even with the best of intentions).

It might not seem like it, but I do have a rebellious streak. I believe anyone who challenges the status quo shares this trait.

This was no different in building what I have on LinkedIn.

From the beginning, I did things differently.

Growing from 500 to 30,000+ followers in <3 months was no accident.

Every move I make is aligned to my values.

My values guide me; I do not compromise them.

To negotiate my values would mean devaluing myself.

Following the crowd simply puts me off.

I’d much rather pave my own way, be my own leader, create my own path.

Are you guided by your values?

I took control of my life by asking myself this question...

Q: "Are you a person of value?"
A: "Not yet."

I was at a point where I wanted my life to change. It was urgent.

No more time could be wasted.

I wanted more from myself and more for myself.

I thought the easiest thing to do was to surround myself with 'people of value.'

The truth is, the change I desired had to come from within me. 
Not from the approval of others.

I invested in myself rather than trying to convince those of 'value' to include me in their circle.

Instead, I decided to become a 'person of value.'

This demanded me to level up.

To strive for better, to push my boundaries and expect more from myself.

It was also crucial that I get 'good at something' and be known for that thing.

So, the work began. I focused on building myself.

And the work continues. Every day, I commit to:

- Being resourceful
- Pushing my limits
- Enriching my mind
- Learning new skills
- Embracing self-love
- Leading by example
- Projecting confidence
- Apply new knowledge
- Communicating kindly
- Be original and unique
- Nurturing my well-being
- Applying a growth mindset
- Living in my highest values
- Exploring new experiences
- Hold myself to high standards
- Supporting and uplifting others
- Contribute meaningfully to others
- Being honest with myself and others

When you become a person of value, people will look for you.

I like that.

This is the reason why LinkedIn is my Number 1 choice.

The mindset of a LinkedIn user is:

- I want to learn
- I want to network
- I want to do business

The mindset of other social media user is:

- I want to kill time
- I want to escape reality
- I want to be entertained

LinkedIn is built differently.

Consistency is the silent power that turns our daily actions into habits that can change our lives.

My Eid wish is for a Free Palestine.

The last day of Ramadan has come. May Allah grant us another year to live and witness the sweetness of Ramadan and all its gifts.

I decided to step back from LinkedIn during this holy month, and it has been incredibly fulfilling as I focus on my connection with Allah and what truly matters.

To all who are observing their last day of Ramadan, my hope is that we carry forward the serenity and introspection of this holy month into every day of our lives.

As we seek forgiveness, let's also forgive and express gratitude for our blessings.

I pray that we also become blessings in the lives of others.

Don’t be fooled. It’s all smoke and mirrors.

No-one has it figured out.
No-one has it all together.

Not even your 'entrepreneurial' greats.
Not even your 'favourite' LinkedIn influencer.

The noise on social platforms can be loud.
The noise on social platforms can also be a facade.

We can be blinded by others' curated version of what success looks like. 

I work with some of the most successful people in the world. 

Here’s what I’ve learned about success:

- They are disciplined
- They are driven by their purpose
- They have an undeniable self belief
- They see themselves as students of life
- They believe it’s their obligation to fulfil their potential

Most importantly their pursuit is rarely ever about them.

It’s about making an impact in the world, whilst leading others to become better versions of themselves.
