At TIMA Designs I conceptualised the design and development of the Tima Designs fashion label focused on feminine, sophisticated, chic and elegant fashion pieces for the corporate and glamorous woman.

Managing all aspects of the business from design, production and quality assurance to sales, marketing and distribution provided the opportunity to understand the intricacies and nuances of small business development in a highly competitive industry.

The business success was based on a commitment to quality and integrity of design and an innate understanding of the fashion needs of the corporate woman.  This is reflected in the label being stocked in a number of high-end fashion boutiques across Melbourne.

Additionally, in my work I delivered presentations to audiences that included:

•	International Women’s Day – “A World of Fashion”  -a presentation on running 2 businesses in   fashion and financial planning and how to achieve success.
•	Inspirational Women Program on Foxtel, an interview discussion on combining fashion, business and financial planning.

The Heart Link Network

Responsible for leading the Dandenong Chapter of Heart Link, a women’s networking group focused on linking resources, new ideas, products and services amongst professional women.

Membership Participation: Through ensuring a fun, collaborative and empowering environment I was able to consistently grow the network of members across the chapter.

Leadership: Was able to facilitate strong connections between women in business that helped create opportunities to build their business, knowledge and professional networks.

As a Senior Business Financial Planner I was recruited to build and grow the financial planning services of the Dandenong Business Centre.

Professional Contributions

•	Business Development: Established trust and respect across the banking division, opening channels of communication and ensuring excellence in customer service to internal and external stakeholders which resulted in the considerable growth and contribution of the financial planning division across the Business Centre.

•	Revenue Generation: Steadily achieved growth in clients and portfolio revenue ensuring consistent ranking in the ANZ Top 20 Business Financial Planner leader board.

•	Business Succession Planning: Identified and developed the opportunity to provide Business Succession planning as an additional service/product for the business.

•	Professional Development: Nominated by senior management to complete the SMSF course.

•	Customer Service Standards: I assisted with the development and creation of the Statement of Advice layout for the business client, working across the compliance team to ensure that it was a user friendly and functional planning tool.

•	Management: I was regularly appointed to the acting manager role, responsible for leading and building on the team performance.  In line with this, I participated in a number of management meetings at a state and national level focused on developing the service delivery and product range of the financial planning division.

Senior Business Financial Planner

Westpac

Initially appointed into the Business Direct Division I was subsequently promoted to the Commercial Banking providing strategic financial planning advice to small to medium enterprises.

Professional Contributions

•	Customer Service: I was consistently recognised for my ability to build rapport and trust with a diverse network of clients from sole traders to larger enterprises with increasing complexity of financial planning requirements.

•	Stakeholder Management: Established a strong network of referral/business partners including Relationship Managers, Investment Bankers, Merchant Bankers etc. with recognition for ensuring a collaborative focus on achieving the most optimal outcome for clients.

•	“Ruby Network” Champion: I was highly involved in the “Ruby Network” for Women in Business, delivering presentations and co-ordinating events to educate women on financial planning, particularly in the areas of superannuation, self-managed super funds, insurance and business growth/protection.

Business Financial Planner

As Business Development Manager I was recruited to build the broker network from a zero base.

Professional Contributions

Business Development: Through persistence, determination and excellence in customer service established a dynamic network of brokers that delivered outstanding revenue growth for the business. 

Sales: Consistently achieved high sales results and supported the organisation in the development and marketing of financial products responsive to the market needs.

Business Development Manager

In 2018, I made a big decision. After 16 + years in financial planning, I decided it was time for a change - not because I had the next big thing lined up, but because I felt a deeper calling. 

I wanted to create something that was truly mine, something that could make a real difference. 

So, I sold my financial planning business and took a leap into the unknown.

My journey began with a podcast. The goal? To inspire and educate, to touch lives in a meaningful way. It was a new chapter, one that brought me to LinkedIn to share my thoughts and connect with others. Little did I know, a simple video post in April 2018 would turn everything upside down. 

Suddenly, companies big and small were reaching out, drawn to the unique blend of my corporate background and this fresh, authentic approach I was taking on LinkedIn.

It was a lightbulb moment. The corporate world was hungry for genuine connection, for personal branding that resonated on a human level. 

So, I founded a new venture focused on just that. Helping leaders and entrepreneurs across the globe build powerful personal brands on LinkedIn became my new mission.

Fast forward to today, I've had the privilege of hosting the most successful entrepreneurs on my podcast, speaking at events worldwide, and most importantly, guiding others to find their purpose and voice online.

A lifetime’s worth of deep wisdom poured into a single call.

And when I ask, "Have you ever shared this with your children?"
Most of the time, the answer is: "No… not really."

It’s rarely deliberate.
They either haven’t made the time, don’t think it's significant enough,
or don’t want to burden the people they love.

This is why I see personal branding very differently from how most people describe it.

When leaders document their thinking publicly, 
their philosophy, their principles, their stories, 
they’re not "creating content."

They’re creating a living archive of their wisdom.

A place their children, or anyone who loves them, can return to.
A record of how they thought, what they valued, and what mattered to them.
A way for future generations to read between the lines.

Small, meaningful pieces of insight,
the kind a child may one day read and think:

"This is how my father made decisions."
"So this is who my mother was."
"This is what they stood for."

Not visibility, but inheritance.

A legacy written in your own words,
before anyone else attempts to define it for you.

You don’t need to answer this publicly…
But if your children were to read your words 20 years from now,
what would you want them to find?

Elevating Personal Brands with Elegance on LinkedIn across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and the wider Arab region

I stood in the Chanel boutique.
Then walked out empty handed.

A few years ago, I set a goal to buy a luxury bag.
It was a bag I “thought” I wanted.

I surprised myself.
I was instantly put off.

You would think it was the price, but it wasn’t.

It was the long queue outside the boutique.
The identical bag on every other shoulder.
The sales associate’s rehearsed pitch about “timeless investment.”
It was so familiar that it no longer looked or felt valuable to me.

The moment I saw how many wanted it,
I instantly didn’t.

And that’s exactly how I operate on LinkedIn.

If everyone has the formula → I don’t want it.
If everyone posts a certain way → I don’t want it.
If everyone talks about the same things → I don’t want it.

I watch others post what works:
“I made $X in Y months”
“The 5-step framework that...”
“Use this hook to instantly go viral”

And yes, it works.
Of course it works.
That’s why everyone does it.

I COULD talk about the money I’ve made.
But I’d rather talk about my values and vision.

I COULD share the hooks that go viral.
But I’d rather post what emotionally draws people in.

I COULD share the proven playbook.
But I’d rather write from a place that actually matters.

To me, when everyone carries the same bag,
it stops being special.
When everyone uses the same strategy,
it stops being strategic.

Maybe this is a flaw in me in others’ eyes.
This stubborn refusal to post what clearly works.

But to me?
This is my differentiator.

It’s about being yourself even when being someone else would be easier.
Even when the formula is right there… proven, profitable.

Some things lose their value when too many people want them,
but your voice is not one of them.

I can’t afford to be like everyone else.

And that’s the same reason I write the way I write.
Show up the way I show up.
Build the way I build.

My clients feel the same way.
They’re leaders who already move with sophistication in the real world, 
and they want their online presence to feel just as refined, true to who they really are.
That’s the work we do together.
Elegance with impact.

Each week I’m seeing a pattern.

Executives who aren't job hunting. They're soul searching.

They have the title, the salary, the respect. 
But they're asking themselves: 
"What else is there?"

If anything they love their job. 
They respect their organisation and they care about the people they work with. 

They just understand something that most are too afraid to face.
There is more.
And they’re ready for it.

Ready to share the wisdom they've learned. 
Ready to influence beyond their organisation. 
Ready to build something that is bigger than them. 

One executive told me: 
"I've spent 20+ years doing this and I love it, but where to from here?"

Another said: 
"I love my job. But I also want to write the book I've been outlining in my head for a decade."

The common thread?
They're looking for expansion opportunities.

- Advisory roles that leverage their expertise. 
- Consulting that lets them choose their impact. 
- Books that capture their methodology. 
- Keynotes where they shape the next generation. 

The beautiful part? 
Building your brand makes you more valuable. 

- Your company benefits from your elevated thought leadership. 
- Your team gets inspired by your growth. 
- Your industry gains from your insights. 

And you? You get to [*** fill in the gaps ***]

And it doesn't require leaving what you love.
It requires expanding who you are.

LinkedIn is telling us exactly what it wants. 
Most people just aren’t listening.

And you can see it in how content performs today on LinkedIn.

A like → shows someone enjoyed your post.
A comment → shows they connected with it.
A save → shows they want to return to it.

They’re not the same thing.
And the platform treats them differently.

A like is quick.
A comment takes a moment.
A save means the post meant something.

That’s why you’ll often see posts with:

• Fewer likes
• But more reach
• And a longer life in the feed

Because the algorithm is paying attention to how deeply people interact with a post, not just how many people tapped the screen.

Early engagement still matters, but for a very different reason than it used to.

• Your existing audience helps your post get off the ground.
• New audiences help it travel further.

Think of it like lighting a candle:
Your network is the match.
Strangers are the oxygen.

You need both.
One starts the flame.
The other lets it grow.

So what’s working right now?

• Posts that share frameworks (e.g. "the 3-step process that actually works")
• Posts that teach something you can apply today 
• Posts people screenshot for reference 
• Posts that offer a new perspective
• Posts that make people think

In other words...
You want people to think "I need to save this."

If you want a simple filter before you hit "post," ask yourself:

Would someone save this?
Would someone share this?
Would someone think differently because of this?

If the answer is yes → you’re creating depth.
And depth is what travels.

The algorithm isn’t chasing likes anymore.
It’s amplifying content that people actually value.

And that’s beautiful don't you think?

Because it means your best work,
the work that actually helps people,
is what wins 🔥
